In 1995, Dan Scott, then the inside sales manager at the Ames Company, laid the groundwork for what would become Backflow Technologies. In 1999, the Ames Company was acquired by Watts, leading Dan to join Preferred Sales, a firm representing Watts and Ames backflow products. With his background at the Ames Company and Preferred Sales, Dan acquired a wealth of knowledge in backflow prevention, ultimately becoming a certified tester in 2003 through the California/Nevada chapter of the American Water Works Association.
