Ashokan Water Services was founded in the year 1997 by a collective of professionals in the water sector who share a passion for kayaking and canoeing who understood the difficulties building managers faced in handling and conserving this vital resource and set out to lead the way in sustaining this precious resource. The mission was to design and implement innovative water conservation methods for the large buildings of NYC large, water guzzling buildings and to protect and preserve the natural watersheds of New York. At present, we proudly stand as New York City's company for water management and conservation.

Hershel serves as a Water Management Engineer with Ashokan, where he engages with water conservation and the design of sustainable buildings. Before his time at Ashokan Water Services, he served as an engineer with NYC. Currently, he holds leader of the New York division of the ASPE and belongs to the AWWA, NYARM, and BOMA. Hershel loves to kayak.
