On Friday, we saw that our water heater was leaking. AHS assigned ASAP Plumbing to the ticket. ASAP Plumbing said that they wouldn't be able to come until Wednesday (5 days later). Since we didn't want to waste too much water or have too much water damage, I shut off the water going to the heater, and I drained it. Since we had dual water heaters, we still had hot water. When the technician finally arrived, he said he couldn't perform diagnostics, because the water heater was empty. Hello! The freakin' thing was leaking at the bottom. So, we had to reschedule for that Monday, and I had to make sure the tank was full. When he showed up, he confirmed what I already knew. I knew that he had to bring it up to code, and we would pay some out of pocket. However, according to their list, we would have paid $1,400 out of pocket. We requested that AHS send Immediate Response to give us a second opinion. With Immediate Response, we only paid $750 out of pocket. If AHS tries to send ASAP Plumbing, demand Immediate Response instead.
BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT ASAP PLUMBING SERVICES 2. This company was sent by AHS recently. Reading all the reviews posted here, we had the same issues. Clearly they over charge (a $160 for a 16 inch piece of vent pipe, and they could not explain why!!!) The first ASAP plumber listed $1000 in modifications not covered by American Home Shield. A "second" ASAP plumber came out to actually do the installation. When the project was completed, there were $300 of estimated "modifications" which according to the "second" ASAP plumber who istalled the heater said he didn't need to do. When I called AHS to adjust my out-of-pocket cost, they said they don't deal with modifications, I have to talk to ASAP. When I called ASAP they transferred me to the plumber that showed up the first day. When I told him what the plumber said about the modifications. His explanations of those modifications was eye opening. I could easily have done them myself and for less than $30 in about 20 minutes. Not the $300 they charged me. The plumber that installed the tank was very professional, nice, and tried to save me unnecessary costs. But ASAP is a SCAM. And, the customer service woman is rude, abusive, and condescending.
WORST yet, after paying the advance required ($500) to set the appointment for the install, we asked AHS to send us a different plumbing contractor because of the rude, abusive and condescending treatment we received by the ASAP customer service woman, AHS said they could but that ASAP refused to return our $500 deposit they required at their first visit to schedule the job. So we didn't have any other option than to have them come and installed the heater. Tell your friends, family, and strangers you meet on the street to NEVER use ASAP Plumbing Services 2. They clearly over charge!!!
Scam alert!!!! Stay far far away. Worst company I've ever had come to my house. American home shield sent them which is why I suspect this company still is in business. 20 minutes here and they told me my hot water heater was draining too slow and would take "hours". 5 minutes later they said they were going to recommend to my warranty company I get a new hot water heater because I had too much sediment and the heater wouldn't drain. After a lot of fast talking and saying I needed a freshwater mod, a T&P mod and a few other "modifications" that my warranty wouldn't cover they quoted me $600 out of pocket expenses AFTER they charge my warranty company labor and the price of a new water heater.
I promptly asked them to leave and told them they could leave the hose hooked up as a neighbor was going to help me flush the heater... he quipped "oh we already flushed it!" But I thought you said it wouldn't drain, so how did you flush it? He then said I needed a new bottom heating element and flushing wouldn't work anyways. And then told me he needed to check my water pressure, by law, and if it's over 100 psi he needed to "alert the city" and they would need to install a regulator at $200. He said with all of the new housing going up the city cranks up the pressure at the water tower making our water pressure too high and it's the city's fault. I told him no thank you, please leave... but they did it anyways.... my water pressure was fine.
My neighbor came over, drained it in an hour, vacuumed out some sediment changed BOTH heating elements for good measure... and now it's working good as new. Cost $25. Total time 2 hours.
I've made a complaint with my warranty company about this company. And if they continue to use them I will cancel my warranty service.
If you are reading this I'm assuming you are like me, scheduled a service call only to have a scam artist show up and you see this AFTER you pay the $75 service fee (yet their truck says $29.99 service call).... I am very sorry. AHS should cut ties with this company NOW or lose a lot of business
Brandon H.Do not use this company! They do not follow through. Missed appointments. When I asked to speak to a manager, the standard reply is "There is no manager available."
Horrible company.
Steve S.We were put in contact with ASAP through our home warranty service. After a month of back and forth trying to get them out to our place, we were able to get an appointment. They called at 8am to confirm the 10am to 6pm service window. They called again at 1pm to let us know a technician was available. I missed this call and returned their call 30 minutes later. They informed us that their policy was to cancel an appointment for failure to field their courtesy call. This policy was never communicated. When we tried to work with them to resolve the issue Melinda the customer service rep was unhelpful, dishonest, and rude. We asked to speak to the supervisor and she gave us the runaround and kept us on hold for over 30 minutes. If your home warranty service refers you to ASAP, I'd recommend asking for another plumbing vendor to save yourself valuable time and frustration.
Scam alert!! Liars and greedy sneaky salesman with fake pressure tests, and videos of the worst broken root damaged plumbing lines...except they are not yours!
Sam P.These guys were sent to us though AHS! I was worried even before they showed up due to their Yelp reviews and BBB reviews - I would not ordinarily use a business with such poor reviews and after fighting back with AHS learned that they contract with many plumbers in the area and together we found one that was highly rated and they completed the work.
ASAP came out to give an estimate for a leaking water heater - they gave us a laundry list of non covered items to a tune of almost $1400 OOP above and beyond what the warranty would cover so I got THREE other opinions all of which came up with the same diagnosis ( between the 3, not matching ASAP) that did not include most of the extras that ASAP required . In fact two of the companies were only a few hundred more despite no warranty in place - and the third which was sent by the warranty company was $500 less !!
There were some curious ' extras ' such as two expansion tanks - ours are 4 months new and only 1 water tank was broken rendering the need for a single replacement. Or a series of charges related to our water pressure valve which one was not broken as verified by three other plumbers and two why charge $185 for an access / access box which is brand new ??
We got the job completed by another 5 star related plumber and save ourselves hundreds of dollars in the process!
The office staff and Manager are unprofessional and ghetto. Their plumber did a full water heater install, and there was an electrical installation item missed. The inspector gave them a contingent approval to have the repair be corrected by 3pm today. The city inspector is giving them until 3pm today to correct or it is a fail. I was asked to call the company and expain the importance that it had to be done by 3pm. She went high and to the right and stated "I already told you." I explained it needed to be done by 3pm, and that she was being unprofessional, and continued to belittle me. The inspector also mentioned that their attitude was bad when he called to report that the inspection was going to fail. I asked him if he knows that company and he said yes. That tells me that a city plumbing inspector calls them regularly.
Do not use these guys. Gave an detailed proposal for work that didn't need to be done. Water heater was stated as "Not Fixable" Guess what? After I replaced my dead water heater. I found out that my old water heater was still in brand new condition. So unless you want to pay for services you probably didn't need, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Did I call to speak to the owner you ask? Hell yes I did. And he never responded.
This has been one of the worst experience I have had with service. Not did they not show up when I called I was on hold for an hour and they just said we can take of it tomorrow if you do not agree call someone else
