Tom the owner is great. Friendly, knowledgable and detail oriented. We have a 100+ year old three flat in Uptown. We began to get back up in the first floor kitchen. Tom came out reviewed our systems and ended up replacing the original brick grease trap & sewer connection for the building. His whole team was excellent, can't say enough nice things about them.

I am so impressed with ASAP Plumbing and its owner Tom. He has been out to look at two different plumbing jobs for me in the past week, and I haven't been charged a dime yet! Today he looked at my hose bib in the front of my home which was frozen and turned it one, and showed me how to manage it while I am waiting for him to come back and completely repair it. While here he noticed that my flood control back up battery system needed batteries and he has ordered them for me. Both times I called he has been prompt, courteous and patiently explained the problem to me and possible solutions. I am so glad to have this contractor in my virtual rolodex now!

I used to be a property manager, managed many buildings and thousands of units, yes thousands. Over the years I've dealt with many contractors, and plumbers being one of the most often called. I also know my way around building systems, and have had my share of guys talk to you as if you should be off baking cookies, no insult meant to men who like to bake cookies. Baking cookies is fun, everyone should do it :)

Then there's Tom, a straight forward professional that knows plumbing, he also knows how to treat a customer. Many times people will ask me for recommendations, if it is for a plumber he's the first one I think of. After all, I needed to call a plumber today and I called Tom. I didn't have to think twice about it.

If you need to call a great plumber, he's the one to call, take it from someone that just about every call she placed all day was to a contractor or to a resident telling them when the contractor should be arriving. I jokingly tell people my last career was a fixer.

Tom Schmidt, owner of ASAP Plumbing &Sewer, "" is the man"". He knows what he is talking about, he's professional, honest, responsive, reliable and his work is excellent. He personally supervises all work and keeps you informed throughout the project. He installed a flood control system in my building and mid-project, unrelated to the work he was performing, the previously leaking buffalo box finally collapsed which involved working and coordinating with The Chicago Water Department. This development added a time-consuming complexity to the job. He did not abandon us and kept us informed in a timely fashion. He brought the project to a successful conclusion, even mopping the floor when the job was done. We were so impressed with every interaction with Tom that he is now our plumber.

I needed a plumber to repair my sewer line and correct a previous plumbers mistake. I searched yelp and ran across ASAP Plumbing. Thanks to previous reviews I called and spoke to Mr Tom
, all I can say is he responded right a way with no hesitation and took on the issue as if it was his own. Just by description of the problem he knew what needed to be done. He is very familiar with the Galewood area plumbing, which we all know can be a huge problem. He explained in detail so that I can understand from a non plumbers perspective. Mr Tom is passionate about his work and demonstrates great concern and care for his customers. If you're looking for a trustworthy, knows his work, hardworking, get the job done type of plumber, ASAP Plumbing/Mr. Tom is the company to call.

I needed a plumber to repair a stopped up sewer line at my in-law's house in Jefferson Park. I saw ASAP and Tom's reviews on Yelp and decided to give him a call. First off, Tom seems to answer all calls personally when he is able, which to me displays his strong customer service focus. He was very nice, straight forward, and professional. He put my in-law's on the schedule for the following day. He called me on the way with an ETA. When he arrived he called me again and diagnosed the problem while on the phone and informed me of the scope and potential cost of the work. He completed the sewer rodding within an hour or so and called me to say the work had been completed. And he even fixed an extremely low flow bathroom faucet, which I had mentioned to him as an aside...seemingly at no additional cost. He charged less than he had originally quoted which was a very pleasant surprise, and it was also a very reasonable price for the work he performed. My in-laws were very happy with Tom and his service and he treated them with the utmost respect. He definitely went way above and beyond many other contractors with whom I've dealt. I am a Realtor and I am always looking for great contractors. Tom is now on my preferred list and I would highly recommend him.

Tom is an excellent plumber and very nice guy.

We moved in to our house on Saturday and Sunday evening I noticed water running down the basement wall. After cutting a hole in the wall and discovering a large pipe I decided to call Tom based on the reviews here.

I called him at 7:30 in the morning, and he came over at 8:15, much faster than I was even hoping for. He discovered a completely clogged offset waste pipe. He unclogged it and put in a new cast iron plug.

Tom was great. He explained everything he was doing and taking the time to answer all my questions. While he was there he explained some of the hookups that were a little goofy on my water heater. He showed me some other ""interesting"" plumbing features in the basement. He checked out a broken shower upstairs and recommended what needed to be done.

I plan on having him out in the spring to scope the sewer line and check the catch basin (he said it looked pretty good at the moment.)

He is extremely professional and very personable. It doesn't get any better.
