I'm writing this review after I've gotten over my initial shock & disappointment at how this whole episode happened & now I can honestly say it was a 2 star experience.
The initial consultation went ok. So we decided to engage him to fix our leaky shower. Instead of calling us back to schedule the 2nd consultation/follow up - after a few days, we decided to call the office to ask for a date.
On the arranged day, the guy arrived late. The appointment time was between 11-12, but he arrived at 1pm. The guy was friendly, apologetic & honest about the fees (hence, 2 stars) But it was apparent he did not have the right tools for the job. He had some-kind of fruit / kitchen knife and other ""miscellaneous"" tools in his bucket to scrape off the hard-water muck in the pipe. He would apply the caulking/silicone around the shower handle, but it was blobby and inconsistent.
Also, he was working inside our travertine & marble tiled shower. His tools would constantly bang against the stones & now I believe there are some damage on the natural tiles, - which as a homeowner, you will forever be haunted by.
When he was done - nearly 3 hours later, the leak stopped. But we did not test the flow (our mistake), and he left for another appointment. When we did try to shower that night, we realized the Hot and Cold water was reversed. Single-handle showers starts with Cold water & as you turn the handle, the water gradually gets to Hot. But he installed it completely the opposite - it started with the Hot and then to the Cold. BIG FAIL!
We cannot recommend this plumbing company.

I hired then to fix my leaking water heater last last year. Yelp reviews were good and they were first to come to our house on friday night.
However next day the drama started. They said since its saturday, they can't buy the water heater at their supplier. Asked me to buy the water heater at home depot and meet their contractor there ! What a hassle and inconvenience ! But I needed it fixed and didn;t have a choice. Never buy the water heater yourself, because now any problem with water heater itself becomes my problem, not theirs. So this is good ploy to avoid performance or other issues with the water hearer after install.
Then they send a incompetent plumber, named ""Thanh"". He can't speak English well and did a shoddy job in installing the water heater. Thank God a more experienced owner of the company was there as well and he did fix his problem and did a good job in removing and installing the water heater.
But the next week we had water leaking again from the TOP of the water heater. Called again and Thanh did come quickly (looks like he doesn;t have much work :-) and had to tighten the interconnects. Why was this not done the first time ?
This year we had a leak again ! Called them again and they said he need to change the top hot water connected. It was not covered by warranty and they charged be extra $120 to fix it.
We still don't have long running hot water in the master bath. The problem is probably the new water heater that was installed has only 36K BTU compared to my old which had 60K BTU. I wish Arroyo should have warned me about the lower power of the new water heater. Its still 50G so it should still work for 2 or more showers. But since I bought the water heater myself, I am stuck with it ! If Arroyo has bought and installed it then I could have asked them to replace it since I asked for an ""exact replacement"" and I didn't.

Spoke to the office admin twice to set up an appointment to have a new kitchen faucet installed and she set the date for 12:30PM today, Saturday. After waiting 1.5 hours when no plumber showed, I called and reached their afterhours emergency service who had no knowledge of the appointment. Appears as though they don't even make appointments for Saturdays. Shouldn't be that hard to manage an appointment book. Will be contacting someone else, meanwhile it shot my entire afternoon :(

We had a clogged washing machine drain that would back up when the washer tried to pump out. We called Arroyo after reading through various reviews on Yelp. They came out that morning and tried to snake the line. When that didn't work a supervisor came out and concluded that the p trap must be very small and so a snake could not be used. They also pointed out some issues with the drain setup. They recommended we redo the p-trap and gave us a quote. They didn't charge us for the failed attempt to snake it. They even recommended that we check to see if someone else with different equipment come out and try but they cautioned to only do it if the next company would give us a guarantee that it works or no charge. Nobody else would give us that same assurance.
I was a bit suspicious that we needed a new p-trap configuration so I opened up the wall myself and found that they were dead right. The original cast iron p-trap was very small and was squeezed between two closely spaced studs.
We called Arroyo back and they had it fixed in a few hours. We haven't had a problem since. I'll definitely be calling them back the next time we need a plumber.

This morning, we found out the kitchen sink was clogged. The husband called Arroyo based on the recommendation of a neighbor. He called at 1pm. The plumber arrived at 3pm, which was a lot sooner than we expected.
Jerome arrived, looked at the sink, went back to his truck to get some tools and a wet-vac, and he went to work fixing it. He told us some really funny stories while he was working.
When he completed the work, he showed us tips on how to prevent future clogs. He did NOT want us to buy any more Drain-O and Liquid Plumber.
We are very happy with the service. Jerome was great! We would definitely call Arroyo again.

Let me start off by saying I work in the service industry. So I know what is good and bad service.
Called them around 3:40 after my kitchen faucet was leaking. They answered pretty quickly and after a short conversation said they do free estimates and that if I choose to fix the problem - it will be $125 an hour they will send the guy within the hour.
After an hour and 20 min - I called them. Said the tech is running a little bit behind and he will be there in about 40 minutes. 2 hours later a knock on the door. The technician quickly assessed the situation and said That the faucet need to be replaced. I said ""I don't have a new faucet here with me. . "" we agreed to reschedule the job for the next morning. By that time - I will pick a new faucet at the hardware store and he can install it for me. Then, he started filling out an invoice. He wrote $165 on it and wanted me to sign. I asked - why is it $165 and why do you want me to sign it now? Does it take more that an hour to replace a faucet? He quickly called the office and magically lowered the price to $125. Again - asking me to sign it. I replied - sir- you did not do anything yet. Why do I need to sign this ? Come tomorrow, finish your job - and I will sign and pay. He left my house. I understand that times are tough and everyone is trying to make extra money - but this is not the way. I ended up driving to the hardware store and replacing the faucet myself (took me about 35 minutes) which I did not want to do. I rather pay someone else that knows the work better than me).
After replacing the faucet I called the Dispach to let them know I will not need the service in the morning - since I replaced the faucet myself. They said ""no problem.""
9:00 the next morning - a knock on my door. It's the technician again. I explained to him that I called yesterday to cancel. He left. I felt sorry for him that he had to drive all the way to my house again for no reason.
I give 3 stars for the technician that right away figured out the problem and seemed to be a nice guy. I did not like the $40 extra charge difference and the fact that the tech was late. Btw - a simple phone call to let me know that the technician will be late late would make a big difference. My situation was not an emergency - so a 3 hour response time would have been fine with me. Just tell me the truth and let me decide.
And if they would not try to charge a little bit more - I would have let them do the job.
In conclusion - they know what they are doing it seems. I might call again if I am in a bind but will make sure what the charge is before they send the Calvary.

our kitchen sink's been leaking. we hired someone else (sj plumbing) to fix it the first time. the guy caulked around the faucet and charged me $130. the problem never went away.
this time we went with arroyo. scheduling was a breeze, i called at 9am and they said someone would be over by 11am. paul was prompt, informative, and friendly.
but most importantly, he knew what the problem was and clearly explained to me what happened and what we needed to do.
$125/hour of work.

Wow. Pretty unbelievable. I just called for a somewhat basic job, and the person I called told me the price is $125 per hour. He also said the minimum charge is $125 per hour. I further asked, should the visit go over an hour, how do they charge and the person on the other end of the phone said, it goes into the second hour and another $125. Maybe my mistake was mentioning we are located in Willow Glen and he thought he could charge high fees? I don't know, but, whatever the case, if this is the way this organization operates, I'm certainly not interested and I recommend you reconsider too.

Awesome people. They are very professional and don't try to sell you more services then you need. I have used them 3 times now on different issues at different properties and they are GREAT!!.

I had Arroyo Plumbing replace my broken Garbage Disposer.
A gentleman named Tranh showed up within an hour of my phone call and gave me an estimate. Then he went off to his plumbing supply store to buy the Disposer. He was back in ~45 minutes and got right to work. After emptying out everything inside of my Sink Cabinet he cleaned the floor, even having to use a putty knife to remove some 17 year old gunk and stuff. Then he took out the broken disposer and drain piping. He saw that the drain was partially clogged so he took it outside and using my hose and a piece of stiff wire he cleaned that out.
Then he replaced the drain pipe and strainer in the left hand sink. He had to cut some pipes to fit. The New Garbage Disposer (an InSinkerator 1/2 HP Badger 5) presented some problems but after quite awhile of trying he finally coaxed it into place.
Tranh worked very hard the whole time he was here, over 4 hours, and I was very impressed with his work.
I will certainly call Arroyo Plumbing and ask for Tranh by name for my next plumbing job.
