My wife and just had Arroyo Plumbing out to our house last night, based on the referral of a friend. The issue was small, and I thought I could do it myself, but my wife wouldn't let me and I'm a busy professional. I decided to give Arroyo a try. I scheduled an appointment, and they gave me a one hour time window (much appreciate) and also a free estimate. Paul came to my house and was on time, professional, and fixed the issue very quickly. I was impressed by the speed in which the job was finished. The price was very reasonable. Overall, a great experience and I would highly recommend Arroyo Plumbing to any friends, family, and fellow Yelpers.

Arroyo Plumbing is top notch!!

Moved into a new home and of course ran into problems right off the bat with the plumbing. I had a pool water valve that was stripped so I couldn't turn off the water going into the pool unless I turned off the water for the entire house. That was not an option has we just had a new born. Called Arroyo Plumbing in the evening and there were able to send a plumber over right away to temporarily fix the issue so I could still use water in the house. They came back the next day with the necessary parts and installed a shut off valve on the pool pipe. Then the following week we had a backup/flood in our powder room, once again they came over right away to access the damage. They snaked the line to unclog the backup and the following day brought in a camera specialist to see what the issue was. The flap on our Check Valve was being obstructed and since we are on the bottom of a hilly street all the backup was caused by the bad flapper. There were able to dig out concrete around the check valve bolts and fix the flapper. Justin and Tim from Arroyo Plumbing are great and take the time to explain the situation to you as well as options on how to fix it. Very informative, professional and trustworthy!! Thanks Arroyo Plumbing and keep up the good work!!

Without a doubt one of the worst experience I've ever gone through. If you're in the plumbing business, you need to hire experienced plumbers. What I got was someone who appeared to be, at best, a general handyman. Upon arrival he spent over an hour analyzing what needed to be done. It was also very frustrating, as well as concerning, that he constantly asked me how I thought the job should be completed. When he finally settled on what needed to be done he had to leave to pick up some very basic fittings. This guy moved at a snails pace almost as if he had filled his pants. He was one of the laziest people I have ever seen, cutting every corner he could and in the end charging a fortune for it. I paid $600.00 to do a job that would cost $40.00 in parts and take less than an hour to do. Simply another company that takes advantage of single woman's inexperience and lack of knowledge in areas such as this.

I called on a Sunday morning and was able to get a same-day appointment. They lose a star because the plumber was an hour late and I didn't get a phone call from the company. We had a rough phone connection in the morning and he copied my number down wrong.

Aside from being late, everything went very smoothly. Our bathroom sink and shower were backing up and draining very slowly. He cleared out both with a wet/dry vac and a snake and we haven't had any problems so far (this was last weekend). If we do, they have a 30 day guarantee on their work and would come back out for free. The whole thing took less than an hour. Our plumber was professional and cleaned up the mess that he made. The price was a very reasonable $125.

I will absolutely call Arroyo again if we are in need of plumbing services!

I called at 7:30am, Paul was at my door (early!) at 8:45am and good to go by 10am. Paul was incredibly thorough, explaining different reasons for why we might have a recurring drainage problem. I never felt as though I was being ""sold"" anything and the price was even less than what he first thought it might cost. He spent extra time giving me a few tips on how to prevent my sink backing up. Most important, he was just a really nice guy who seemed like he wanted to solve our problem once and for all. I would highly recommend Arroyo!

Called this place to get my drain cleaned out. Jerome was an awesome technician and had my clog cleared out in about 10 minutes. What's even better is that he showed me a cool trick to clean out my garbage disposer without any chemicals.

*Run your garbage disposal and fill it with ice. I mean lots of ice. Then once it's full of snow (crushed ice), run the water. Basically, this will freeze the gunk and drain with the water. I do this every night now and it works wonders. No more smell.

If you ever call them for service, ask for Jerome as the tech because he is awesome.

Paul Lee provided us with excellent service when every drain in our home was clogged. He was prompt, efficient, courteous and explained everything in detail to us. He did not try to ""up-sell"" us on anything and gave us options from which to choose. We chose to have the full job done and I am so glad we did. A ""simple"" routing did not do the job. Two days later, the drains were clogged again. Paul was right. We went with the clean out for the main line drain. All is well. Thank you Paul.

I have owned this home for 40 years. Never, in all those years, have I had a worse experience with a tradesman.

The cause of the problem for which I called Arroyo was that the resin tank in my water softener had burst - this introduce the resin (a light silt/sand like substance) into the water supply. The circulating resin clogged every aerator and filter screen in the system.

There are 2 major steps required to ""fix"" the problem. The 1st of these is to bypass the softener so that the remaining resin could not be introduced into the system - this rather simple repair was accomplished quickly and effectively.

The 2nd task was to flush the resin out of all the water feed lines with the now resin free water. It was at this point that Arroyo totally failed me!

Problems:

I have 3 toilets and, fortunately, had on hand 2 new toilet fill valves. They successfully installed the 2 new valves, but failed to completely flush the resin out of the 3rd fill valve - this valve is still functional, but, because it was not completely flushed, now takes about 5 minutes to fill the tank to which it is attached. On one of the other tanks, while replacing the fill valve, he managed to damage the flapper valve so that it now leaks.

He did not completely flush one of the lines to the clothes washer so that it immediately stopped functioning.

In the master bath. I had a rather expensive ""pulsating"" showerhead. In the process of cleaning it, he over-tightened one of the parts so that the pulsating function was irreparably damaged.

The final indignity:

When I called to complain about the problems above the man who responded (whom I believe to be the manager or proprietor) summarily refused to listen to my complaints. He claimed that the cause of the problem was the rusting of the interior of the now 40-year-old galvanized pipe - completely ignoring the
fact that the material which caused all the blockage was not rust, but rather the resin from the water softener.

As evidence of the falsehood of this contention, I offer the following:

The pipe from the water meter (at the street) to the ""tee"" that feeds the water softener is galvanized. The other side of the tee continues, as galvanized pipe, to the cold water tap in the kitchen sink and has never clogged. Had the interior of that feed been rusty that cold water tap would have clogged.

From the tee to the water softener there is approximately 8 feet of galvanized pipe, and from the water softener to the water heater and to under the house there is approximately 10 feet more of galvanized pipe. All of the rest of the plumbing in the house is PVC (which cannot rust.)

Moreover, after the lines were properly purged and the water softener bypassed, there Is absolutely no evidence of further clogging.

Arroyo, as professional plumbers, showed a surprising lack of understanding of how a water softener fails, displayed a stubborn refusal to accept the actual cause of the problem, exhibited malfeasance in cleaning the showerhead, failure to completely purge several of the lines and, their $125/hour labor charge sum up to cause me to strongly recommend that they NOT be employed - find another plumber, any other plumber!

Lucky me. 8 hours before my holiday party and my toilet stops flushing. Mind you, this is the only toilet I have downstairs so if one of my guests accidentally used it, let's just say it'd be a 'crappy party' (i had to say it cause i'm of the age where puns seem to be funny and ironic).

In any case, I had just had the same toilet fixed a couple of months earlier by EJ Plumbing for $135 (who only has a 30-day warranty on their services) and was bummed I'd have to fork out the same amount of cash within such a small timespan.

Luckily I got into contact with Louis at Arroyo Plumbing and told him of my situation. How I had just gotten the toilet fixed for $130, etc.. (someone cue the guy somewhere playing the saddest song on a tiny violin), and instead of sending someone over which would cost me over $100, he walked me through how to fix the problem on my own. He patiently waited over the phone and while explaining to me exactly what was going on (even describing the parts of the toilet and what they were generally used for), until my problem was fixed.

I haven't written a review on Yelp in awhile, but this tremendously generous 'gift' can't go unrewarded and shared with the Yelp community. If you're looking for an honest plumbing company who isn't out there to rip you off, I whole-heartedly recommend talking to Louis.

I also want to add that this was over the weekend (today is a Saturday), and he obviously took his personal time to help me (I heard a baby in the background).

Thanks Louis so much!!!!
