Update; called the manufacturer and the issue was fixed in TWENTY MINUTES by their tech for FREE. Argent quoted us for HOURS of labor and was going to charge well over $600. Do not trust this company.

Argent did a sewer inspection for me on an older home. Two other plumbing companies could not get the camera all the way through due to several turns the pipes make, they just gave up pushing and recommended digging out and replacing completely functioning and clean pipes. Argent's plumber worked hard and was able to get the camera to the end.

One of my AC condensers was blowing cool air, but not cold enough. MY HVAC guy retired so I needed somebody new. I tried Argent. HUGE MISTAKE. First, they never showed between 1-4 pm, and I had to call them. They said they would come the next day between 9AM and 11AM. By 12 noon I gave up and decided to forget about them. They showed up at 1:30 pm like it is normal not to update a customer when you are so delayed. I agreed to pay them $178 for the diagnostic. This zone is a smaller u it which only covers the kitchen and family room. They told me that I had 2 options. A new system for $10,000 or they would put refrigerant in the system , but they would not guarantee it would work. They wrote up an estimate. I almost passed out when I saw the price of $1,650 to add refrigerant. I asked them to leave. I called Trane/American Standard and told them I needed someone to service my AC. They recommended a local guy. There was NO charge for the estimate. If I didn't want to do it, he would just leave. I know about Covid and supply chain issues, but I also know about price gouging. The new guy added 1.5 pounds of freon. I paid him $419 because the refrigerant is now $200 lb, which confirms what I learned refrigerant costs today. I needed $300 worth. The rest was labor and tax. I wish I had read these Argent reviews ahead of time. If you are foolish enough to use Argent then you deserve what you get.

Argent is very reliable and responds quickly to get appointments as needed. I highly recommend Argent!! I have trusted them with servicing my home in New Providence for over 20 years. They are not the least expensive, but they are extremely dependable and will forever use them for all our needs!!

Asked them to come out to address some corrosion on old plumbing pipes. Agreed to the $100 non-refundable home visit charge (credit applicable to final bill). The price that they quoted after having paid for the house call was absurd - I subsequently made one call to another reputable plumber who could do it for 70% less. I can kiss that $100 good bye, but I guess that's the cost of my lesson to never use Argent again.

WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!
We had a gas leak and scheduled a cost estimate on the next day of the storm.
Then Argent started play their tricks.
We only had one place having gas leak for sure and another place might be a potential leak require further check. Argent directly said both piple need to be fixed for sure and the estimate would be more than $1400.
And when we wanted to see the cost estimate for fixing only one place. Argent told us EITHER FIX BOTH OR NOTHING!
OK, without any detection or inspection on whether the second place had gas leak for sure, Argent already told me I have to fix them all and pay them the amount way out your expectation. Argent was telling me what kind of service I can buy. Well played!!!
Then I paid them the unprofessional inspection or check for $99 and sent them out.
We have someone else fix the issue next day with $500 and after detail checking the second place DO NOT HAVE LEAK AT ALL.
AVOID THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL,ARRAGANT AND MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE OTHERS

Rip Off! Never use again. $600.00 to replace two bolts to a toilet. The service guy drop the price to $500 in cash. I guess to avoid state taxation.

Having used them multiple times over the years, they're not the cheapest plumbing and hvac company, but they arrive quickly, don't try to up-sell and fix the problem properly and promptly. Being an engineer, when I have questioned the details around a component replacement, they actually explain, in verifiable detail, the what and why of their recommend course of action (meaning their people are actually trained and not just randomly swapping out logic boards and sensors, or trial & error recapping).

In my experience, in the sea of (criminally) terrible HVAC businesses in northern NJ, whose starting point is always to try selling whole new installations, Argent has proven honest and efficient.

My 92-year-old father lost heat on a very cold night. Argent Plumbing arrived the same day and told him it would cost $15,000 to install a new boiler. The serviceman left without making any attempt to restart the boiler or do any repairs. As a result, the house was unheated for 24 hours. I called another plumber who came and inspected the boiler and concluded all that was needed was a new circulator for the porch. The other two circulators which heat the main house were fine. He restarted the boiler and heat returned to the main house. A repair to the porch circulator was done the next day. Argent plumbing intentionally left the boiler off putting my father's health at risk. I can only imagine they did this in order to compel the decision to buy a new boiler. This is a fraudulent business practice on their part or at the very least unbelievably negligent. The fact that they offered to pay my plumber's bill is tantamount to an admission of guilt.
