Company Overview

For over 30 years, Aquilina Plumbing and Rooter has been the go-to choice for all plumbing services. Our expertise spans residential and commercial plumbing work. We bring the experience and honesty you deserve from your plumber.

Aquilina Plumbing and Rooter began as Rite Job Professional Plumbing in 1998 in Tucson, Arizona, founded by Frank Aquilina. After more than ten years of serving Tucson, the recession struck Arizona, prompting Frank to relocate his family and business back to Southern California, where his plumbing journey began.

With his C-36 plumbing contracting license in hand, he rapidly built the business by collaborating with home warranty providers. Frank established a name for himself by taking on plumbing tasks that other plumbers avoided. Our clients began recommending us to their friends beyond the warranty companies, and we have been proud to serve our community ever since.

Frank's plumbing career began in 1990 at Louis Luskin and Son's Plumbing in Los Angeles, where he served as an apprentice. During his apprenticeship, he mastered trench digging for sewers and waterlines, home repiping, and the installation of sewers and gas lines. After one year, he had the opportunity to apprentice with Jeff Harris, concentrating on service and repair plumbing. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to manage his own service truck.

After a few years, Frank transitioned to Tucson, working for Cumming's Plumbing for three years. He started studying for his journeyman's card and aimed for his K-38 plumbing license. After successfully passing his exams, he launched Rite Job Professional Plumbing in 1998.

Frank made his way back to the South Bay in 2012, starting Aquilina Plumbing and Rooter. He is married to his beloved wife, Tonya Aquilina, and they have two daughters, Mariah and Gianna.

We had a pinhole leak in a pipe. I ended up getting a clamp from Home Depot and covering the hole as a temporary fix. Frank came and took a look and said that my fix would last longer than the pipe so there was no need for him to do any work. He left without charging me anything. It's awesome to have found an honest plumber who's willing to pass on a job when it's not needed.

Frank is awesome! Came to our house today for a free estimate and didn't push any of his services on us. He was very honest and even gave us a few tips to try on our own before calling him back to do any necessary repairs. My toddler son was sleeping during the estimate and Frank kept his voice down and even tiptoed around so he didn't wake him up. Very very considerate. Thanks Frank!

Amazing customer service!! Cant say enough about this company. Called them late on a tuesday needing help due to a leak that was getting worse. Spoke to someone in the answering service who told me i would hear from a tech within the next 30 minutes. I heard from Frank within 5 minutes. He was nice enough to educate me on how emergency plumbing works. He told me that he would come out and take a look and see if anything could be done tonight as a temporary messure to hold us over till tomorrow. Frank came out, diagnosed what was going on but unfortunately wasn't able to help. He spent at least a good hour with no success. At the end of the visit i asked how much we owed him for today- i was shocked when he said it was no charge. He said that he was going to stand by his word that if he couldnt help he wasn't going to charge me. I double checked just because i had never heard of such a thing in the plumbing industry. I will definitely be calling Frank in the future for all my plumbing needs!

I hired Frank a month ago to do a full re-piping of my unit using Aquapex. My multi-floor condo had 4 bathroom sinks, 1 kitchen sink, 1 dishwasher, 1 bathtub, 1 shower, 3 toilets, 1 washer, 1 water heater, and 1 garage fixture.

He was very cordial, friendly, and loves to explain in detail about the pros and cons of his various solutions (e.g. copper vs pex, water softeners vs none, etc). Also, in his estimates, he was very upfront on what to expect from the job (pricing, level of cleanliness, work hours, material used, no patching, etc).

It took him about a week to finish all the work. He did a good job in minimizing the numbers of holes he had to make and made sure everything was nicely setup for the city inspector to examine. The city inspector had no problem with his work. Most importantly, Frank did a really good job in making sure my family had running water everyday during the job.

The only reason I couldn't give him a perfect 5 stars was because there were a few hiccups during the week of work:

1. One of the fittings in the repipe failed after the work was completed, causing some water damage to my ceiling. I had to shut off the main. He came in the next day to redo the fitting.
2. He accidentally broke one of my lamps and was fully upfront about it, letting me know before I even knew. He fully apologized and reimbursed me for the cost.

With the large amount of work that needed to be done, I guess these things couldn't be avoided. Price wise, he's competitive with all the other bids I got (I called 5 other plumbing companies who were either not as informative or way too expensive for the same amount of work).

I waited almost a month to write this review to make sure issue #1 was just a fluke and not a pattern. So far, no problems. I've also noticed that a lot of my fixtures in the house are now able to get hot water a lot faster (Thanks, Frank!)

Considering how honest and friendly he was with me and my family, I would feel comfortable picking Frank to do my next job in the future.

Frank is the best!

My shower drain clogged completely, and I needed a plumber to come out right away. I called Aqualina, and Frank was so flexible and able to squeeze me in at such late notice. Thank goodness! He was on time, friendly, efficient and competent. I would recommend him to anyone, and will definitely call him again.

I called with a floor drain issue that could be solved in several different ways. I talked to Frank and after hearing my problem, he advised me that I did not need his services, but rather he gave me a low cost fix that exactly solved the problem. He said ""no charge for the advice"". Wow, how cool a plumber is that. I will never use a different plumber as I know that he can be trusted to have a perfect moral compass and is totally honest. Thank you for your service, Frank!

The night before, our bathroom sink drain decided to completely clog. It had been on its way to this point for a while. The issue with this is that the timing was really bad, although there is NEVER a good time for a clog especially when you only have 1 bathroom sink! And we were headed out of town for Thanksgiving and wanted to get this resolved ASAP!

I woke up early the next morning and called 4 different companies. Nobody called me back except for Aquilina Plumbing! Thank you! Frank called me back in a quick manner and he said he could come by on his way to his first appointment of the day. Wow!

He arrived and brought his electric snake with him. Uh oh! We had a power outage during the night and the power was still out! So, he came in, took a look, and said that he needed the electricity to resolve the problem. I was soooo bummed. He was polite and offered for me to call him if by chance, the power came back on soon. He drove away.

Guess what? The power came on about 5 minutes later and I did indeed call him back! I figured he was near the freeway on his way to his second job and I'd be stuck with my clogged drain until after Thanksgiving. He answered and said he'd come back right away. Such a great kindness!

Sure enough, he came back and unclogged my sink very quickly!! I can't tell you how happy and relieved I was to have the sink operational again! And that I would have peace of mind about it while I was away from home!

Thank you very much, Frank! I really appreciate your professionalism and the willingness to make the second trip back to my house!! I will definitely call on you again when the need arises! And... in this old house, it will!!

Frank was on time and then very straightforward about what my options were. He was clean and courteous too. Very pleased with the experience and it was a reasonable price to open 2 clogged drains.
