Aquilina Plumbing and Rooter
Company Overview
With more than 30 years in the industry, Aquilina Plumbing and Rooter stands as the reliable option for all your plumbing requirements. We specialize in plumbing solutions for homes and businesses alike. Our team embodies the skill and trustworthiness you seek in plumbing services.
In 1998, Frank Aquilina established Rite Job Professional Plumbing in Tucson, Arizona, which later became Aquilina Plumbing and Rooter. Following over a decade of service in Tucson, the economic downturn led Frank to move his family and business back to Southern California, his original home.
Once he obtained his C-36 plumbing contracting license, he quickly began expanding the business by partnering with home warranty companies. He soon became known for completing plumbing jobs that others shied away from. Our clients began recommending us to their friends beyond the warranty companies, and we have been proud to serve our community ever since.
Frank's plumbing career began in 1990 at Louis Luskin and Son's Plumbing in Los Angeles, where he served as an apprentice. During his apprenticeship, he mastered trench digging for sewers and waterlines, home repiping, and the installation of sewers and gas lines. After one year, he had the opportunity to apprentice with Jeff Harris, concentrating on service and repair plumbing. Not long after, he was entrusted with running his own service vehicle.
After a few years, Frank transitioned to Tucson, working for Cumming's Plumbing for three years. Frank began working towards his journeyman's card and decided to pursue his K-38 plumbing license. After achieving success in his exams, he established Rite Job Professional Plumbing in 1998.
In 2012, Frank came back to the South Bay and created Aquilina Plumbing and Rooter. Frank shares his life with his wife, Tonya Aquilina, and they are proud parents of two daughters, Mariah and Gianna.

Had a commercial emergency, Aquilina Plumbing was fast to arrive and resolve the situation. Would definitely use again. Their technician Frank was great, kept me informed as job progressed. Rachel, whom took my initial call was very helpful as well. Thank you!

Well, its been about 3 months since I moved in and contacted Aquilina Plumbing and Rooter. I had 4 jobs that Frank needed to do.
1. Starting with the easiest: water line installation from to the fridge. Done and no issues
2. I Bought a new Costco sink faucet that is hands free so it had an electronic piece to it. I asked Frank to install. Anything with electronics I figured you'd test before you do the work. He mentioned he installed many of these for an extra charge. Of course I agreed and he installed while i was at work. Once i got home to see the results he informed me that the hands free feature didn't work and he had already installed the faucet when he found this out, so he left it installed even though it didn't work. Well Thank you for Kolher giving me a free sink faucet that I had to install myself after uninstalling the broken one Frank left installed.
3. Installing a new dryer vent line, well, he did 1/4 of the job. He added a ""flexible line"" to where the dryer hookups to. Well our new dryer started not to dry clothes. This is from 2 issues due to improper installment of the vent. The issues are the inside of the tubing is textured and its flexible, so the vent line isn't straight and water is pooling at the low spots from the dryer moisture and the dryer lint is getting stuck in the water thus not being able to dry as well. With this he left the flexiable vent line longer than it should be, instead of cutting the line shorter to prevent it from bending and causing the pooling. The second part was he just rehooked the old line up and said it was better access, this wasn't cleaned out causing more dryer issues.
4. He didn't install the right dryer/washer gas valves that fit to the dryer and washer. I had to install the correct ones. This may have been an over sight..
5. The biggest job, was the gas line to the fireplace.. fingers crossed he did this correctly. But due to heat wave we haven't tried this out yet. Kind of nervous to now!
Overall the $1100 that we spent I ended up having to fix a lot of the work and redoing it and spending even more money to fix it. The only reason we hired someone to perform all this work was because I work full time and we just had a baby so we were in a hurry to move in. Lesson learned.

Had them out to replace two bathroom sink faucets. They responded to the request for quote through Yelp quickly and were able to come out and do a great job. Took time to answer a few questions I had and left the place looking better than it did when they got here.

Frank has been helping us with our remodel over the last couple of months and has been wonderful to work with. He's very knowledgeable, kind, and hard working. Every time he leaves our home we are in much better shape than when he arrived. So happy we found a trustworthy plumber!

Honest and quick quote for a laundry plumbing request.
While he was here giving me a quote, he also fixed the water pressure on my shower as a courtesy! Would definitely recommend!

Fabulous experience. Frank showed up when he said he would, charged half of what he quoted (and what I had approved) and threw in a little fix on another issue at no charge.
Good, honest service.
Thanks Frank!

this is an update on my last review, to prove how this plumber could not fix my drain neither could take his snake cable that he cut, out of my drain, he charged me $95 service charge for his bad service (i paid $100 Cash) and told me a stuck snake cable is not his problem, left the broken snake cable stuck in my drain and the only way to get it out is to dig it and that would be thousands of dollars job. I told him i was not happy about it and i don't believe this is fare, I asked him to get it out but he said its impossible and walked away leaving the snake stuck. on 2-13-2018 I was able to get the snake out myself without even using tools, I already had couple bad experiences with plumbers i don't trust them much. I will fix my drains myself and I advice everyone not to let plumber touch your property without written quote to guarantee his work.
here are some photos I took after I removed the snake cable out.

Frank, Rachel, and their team respond promptly and have competitive rates. They are friendly, patient, punctual, and professional.
I recently had the Aquilina team replace a garbage disposal and troubleshoot a mystery drip under my sink. Frank quickly identified issues, explained the problem, and replaced the unit.
In the future, Aquilina will be the first call I make regarding any plumbing issues.
*Update 1.21.18 - went with Aquilina Plumbing again to replace a corroded valve behind the fridge. Just like last time, Frank showed up ON TIME and FULLY PREPARED with all the parts necessary for the job. He was done well within the estimated time frame and made it look easy.
If you live in the South Bay, give Aquilina a call. It'll be easy to see why Frank and Rachel come so highly recommended by locals.

This is the guy you want to call if you need a plumber. I found him on yelp and was impressed by the great reviews. I called to have my main line cleared as I thought there was something slowing all the drains. Spoke with Rachel in the office who was very nice and helpful.. She explained they didn't have an opening right away but would come out the next day, between 11-3. At about 11am she gave me a call to let me know that Tony was stuck on a big project and would probably be closer to 3 or 4. Tony showed up at 4 on a Friday and asked me a few questions about what was happening and quickly came to the conclusion that the main wasn't the issue. He checked the problem drains and the issue ended up being some hair in the drain valves which he quickly cleared for me, showed me how to do it myself in the future, and didn't charge me.. He is super friendly, knowledgeable and easy going.. The kind of guy you want to go out and have a beer with. I'll definitely be calling these guys the next time I need a plumber.. Super impressed with the way they do things!

We needed to convert our traditional water heating system to a tankless one for a number of reasons. Frank turned out to be very friendly, professional and competent in completing the job. I also got an honest vibe from him, no salesy feel or upselling from him at all.
Only reason I took a star off is because the install was supposed to include the disposal of the previous unit. When he left he said his ""junk person"" would be picking it up. Well, he never came and I called and left a message for Frank a week later and got no response. It's been at least a couple weeks now and I will need to arrange for the city (Redondo) to come pick up the water heater and the extra pipes/junk left from the install. Kind of annoying because 1) we have to haul the stuff out to the curb and 2) it was SUPPOSED to be taken care of with the amount we paid. Oh well, nobody's perfect I guess.
