Spoke with Tony about my water heater not working and no hot water. Had an appointment the following morning. I was given an estimate on what I may be paying depending on the issue. He arrived on time and explained everything very well in easy to understand terms so I knew exactly what was going on. He didn't charge me for the minor fix at the time. I had to call him again as my water heater wiring needed to be replaced. Tony answered my call right away and came back within two hours. Very happy that my water heater is now working fine. Tony was a lifesaver. We had a major plumbing backup over a holiday weekend. He arrived within a couple of hours of our Saturday morning call, and he took a number of steps to try to clear it without having to use more expensive means. Maybe even more importantly to me, he talked me through options and steps, and he approached what was a really stressful thing for us with both professionalism and good humor. Tony from AK Plumbing is amazing. He was extremely responsive, answering almost every call we made and calling us back within minutes the one time we had to leave a message. Our water heater stopped working and instead of immediately trying to get us to buy a new one, he came out and tried to fix our old one. When he wasn't able to get the old one working properly, he didn't charge us for anything and immediate got working to help us get a new one. He made us his top priority, installed the new heater right away, and even fixed two other minor plumbing issues we had in other parts of the house for free. He likes to pay it forward and said he didn't want to nickel and dime us. We really appreciated his honest, careful, and super responsive work. We will be calling him for all of our plumbing needs from now on.

Highly recommend AK Plumbing. Tony was very reasonable and efficient in replacing our water heater. He took the time to walk me through what was included in the cost of his labor and materials other than the heater itself. He made the experience painless and his work was quick and efficient. I have worked with Tony a second time to install/modify a liquid propane fire pit. He came out twice and on both visits he pointed out that the replacenent parts I ordered were not compatible and he was not comfortable with installing what the manufacturer sent to me. This is a testament to Tony's commitment to safety, patience, and customer satisfaction. Thank you Tony (hopefully the third time's a charm ;)!

We have a long-standing issue with palm tree roots and our plumbing backed up on Sunday night. I called Tony Monday morning around 9. He was able to come by 930 bc he happened to be in the neighborhood. He was upfront on pricing telling me how much it was for a 100 foot snake. Turned out we needed the longer snake. He went home and got his longer snake and came back. I also showed him two small issues we had - one for a toilet and the other outside. He said, ""listen, I can do it for you if you want, but X is the problem. This is a 5 min fix and you can get it at home Depot and it'll be way less than I'd have to charge you."" No doubt we'll be using him again. (In fact, I already referred a friend to him.)

Overdue on doing this review. About a month ago I put a screw through a waterline while putting up some closet shelving. I called Tony and he got right back to me. After talking it through, he realized I was capable of fixing it myself. I am in construction but I'm not very good at soldering pipe. Instead of charging me to come out on an emergency call on a Saturday, he gave me a run down on how to fix it without soldering but still doing it right. It might sound like he was trying not to come out, but he was right on that I was capable and I was able to fix it for less than $20. I appreciated that he didn't try to take advantage of the situation. I would recommend calling him.
