My sink/garbage disposal backed up and I was really worried it was going to be a complicated and expensive repair. I saw that Castillo Plumbing had an A on Angie's List, and was able to get an appt with them for the next day.

Andy's guys were really nice, and solved the problem within minutes - a glass was wedged down in the sink, sitting just above the disposal blade. They popped it out, and Andy called to let me know they weren't going to charge me for such a simple, quick job. I appreciate that, as well as the fact that the guys were very nice and professional, and that I was able to get an appt with so quickly. I definitely recommend.

Andy was very articulate, professional, and polite. My parents home was built in 1924, which an old house. The guest bathroom faucet was leaking. My husband put in new washers, but a week later it continued to leak. Andy came out the next day and simply flushed out the faucet/pipe - it took 10-15 mins. It was such a minor repair he said there was no charge. Ok, so who doesn't like a discount - he could have easily charged for the service call but didn't. He made a new customer by his work ethic and kindness. Nice man, explains things so the average person can understand and I will call him again for sure. A+

Our water heater stopped working so I looked on Angie's List and found Castillo Plumbing which had an A. I had diagnosed the problem myself and the manufacturer sent replacement parts under warranty, but installing them looked tricky. After installing the part for me, it still didn't work so I called for another part. Andy went out of his way to come back on a Saturday and make sure that the new parts worked. I talked to Andy for a while after he was done and it's clear he takes pride in his work. We'll definitely call Andy again if we need any plumbing work done.

One of my coworkers recommended Andy Castillo Plumbing a while back when I moved into my new place, knowing I'd need a plumber sooner or later. Recently, one of my bathroom sinks has been draining slowly and I decided to give them a call.

I left a message and they returned my phone call right away and were able to give me a quote over the phone. They were even able to come out the same day and agreed to check my other sinks as well.

Eddie showed up within the 2-hour window I was given, was courteous and took a look at all the drains (he even adjusted one on the spot) before he got his tools. He was able to unclog the drain quickly and without making a mess, which I appreciated.

I asked him some other questions about my water heater as well, which he answered.

I'm very satisfied with their service and would use them again.

Our shower was leaking onto the ceiling below. We called three plumbers (all well-rated on Angie's List), all of whom said that we would have to replace the entire shower. Then we spoke with Andy. He said that he would open up the ceiling and take a look; depending on the problem, he'd then decide what the next steps were. Andy's quotes weren't the cheapest, but we liked his more methodical & careful approach. (We've had back luck with other contractors who weren't so careful!) We're also in the neighborhood and like supporting local businesses.

The great news was that the problem ended up being much smaller than what the other plumbers thought it was, so the repair ended up being cheaper than all the others, and it was substantially less disruption. Andy also gave us a discount on the price b/c the job was easier than he expected.

(FYI that he doesn't do drywall work, though he gave us a good recommendation for someone to do it)

We've had Andy come out twice now because of other leaks (the bane of hard water!) and he's been great every time; he's always on time & gives us a deal. He's careful, thorough, and friendly, and, for the ceiling opening job, he cleaned up after himself. We'd definitely recommend him!

We found Andy based on his A ratings on Angie's List. Andy is awesome. We were incredibly happy with the work he did a year ago in repairing a pretty big leak we had underneath our house. He was incredibly fairly priced (we had 3 plumbers out to estimate), and he was great about communication (we had 2 other estimates fall through). He was actually due for an estimate, and when he didn't show I was upset (having had 2 other plumbers bail for no reason), but he called an hour or so later, explained that he had been shoulders deep in a trench in the middle of a job which he couldn't abandon, but was calling me at his first available opportunity. He immediately volunteered to stop by after his long work day, knowing how stressful it can be as a homeowner to have your estimator bail on you... I was impressed by how well he handled an awkard situation- cuz honestly, this type of thing does happen and can happen to anyone. The key was that he made it right immediately.
When we started remodeling and needed professional assessment from a plumber regarding our new piping, installing a tankless water heater and filtration system, we immediately thought of Andy as our trusted plumber. He called back the same day I left a message, spent a long time explaining to me my options, and stopped by a day later to provide me with an estimate and helpful advice. We look forwards to having a long relationship with him and his son and would happily recommend him to anyone.

I had a pinhole leak in a hot water pipe in the wall between the bathroom and a bedroom. Andy came out quickly, removed the drywall, repaired the pipe and suggested I save money by having my painter repair the drywall - we were having some painting done. He was professional and very reasonable. I felt comfortable referring people to him and the feedback from them was all positive. The work done was in Sierra Madre.

Finding a good plumber was a challenge, before. The plumbing problem we had last year, recurred around the same time this year because the previous plumber just wasn't able to take care of it properly. (I actually felt bad for our previous plumber, he was a really nice person...worked all day on the previous problem, couldn't fix it properly, and seemed to be a mess afterwards!)

I am SO glad that I consulted Angie's List before looking for a plumber here...because if I saw the other reviews here first, I wouldn't have called!

Anyway, I had filtered the reviews on the other site for top-rated plumbers, and found a bunch. Castillo Plumbing (""A"" rating there) happened to be geographically convenient, which was a nice bonus. I noticed that there were also many reviews from my neighbors, which was a good sign.

I liked that communicating with Andy Castillo was easy and he gave me a rough estimate over the phone. I especially appreciated that he responded to text messages -- which I prefer, for communicating address and other data. Today (12/14/12), he showed up on time, diagnosed our plumbing issues and fixed them (mainline stoppage and faucet problems) and answered our questions. While he is not ""cheap"" his rates are reasonable. He was professional; friendly; competent; and most importantly, got the job done (and quickly)!

I recommend contacting him through text message (if you do the text message thing) to send address info and stuff -- and reconfirming the appointment the same day.

I made an appointment for Monday 11-2. It is now Monday at 3:45. No call, no nothing. Rearranged work for this. Obviously a company with no consideration for its customers.

I called Andy last spring due to his high rating here. He arrived on time, was friendly and gave me very reasonable verbal estimates. He then told me he'd email or mail the written estimates. I never received them and never heard from him again.

Several months later, I needed my drain cleared & decided I'd give Andy 1 more chance. I called on a Friday and asked him to come the following Friday. He told me he'd clear the drain and give me an on-the-spot estimate for the work we had previously discussed.

After waiting over an hour for him to arrive, I gave him a call. He apologized, but he completely forgot about me. He was on another call and couldn't come out as he'd promised.

I won't be giving him a 3rd chance.
