Company Overview

Contact us anytime. Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air stands as San Diego's trusted service expert. For close to 45 years, we have delivered quality work on the first try. We guarantee 100% satisfaction. Learn why we assert, ""Nobody exceeds client expectations like we do"".

Mary Jean Anderson started Anderson Plumbing, Heating & Air from four separate businesses.

We celebrated our 40th year of serving San Diego in 2018. As part of our celebration, we enhanced our Anderson Random Acts of Plumbing, Heating & Air program. We gifted plumbing, heating, and air conditioning services and equipment to 40 randomly chosen residents in San Diego.

2017 saw the establishment of the Anderson Career Builder Institute. We created this program to address the critical shortage of qualified candidates in the skilled trades.

2006 was the year we merged our companies into one, establishing a remarkable team of professionals. We deliver premium products alongside outstanding customer service.

Mary Jean Anderson, our President, acquired her partner's share in Walter Anderson Plumbing in 2003. Since that time, she has expanded by acquiring more businesses in the industry and bringing in skilled staff who are still with us.

Hi there!

I started my career in nursing, and my nurturing instincts fuel my dedication to outstanding customer service. I aim for you to have confidence that we will get the job done right on the first attempt.

Inviting a technician into your home can lead to uncertainty and questions. This is why we conduct extensive background checks, drug tests, and personality evaluations on our technicians prior to hiring. Moreover, all our specialists are licensed and fingerprinted by the state of California.

I appreciate my family and team members. My husband, Bryan Rominger, is the President of the Anderson Career Builder Institute (ACBI), Headmaster, and Instructor. My son, Kyle Anderson, is the Vice President and Strategic Operations Manager. Kelly, my daughter, oversees our service department as the Service Manager.

We are a family business dedicated to the safety, comfort, and investment in your home. We are thankful to our customers who allow us to serve them, and we would love the opportunity to earn your business.

Fast and friendly service. They contacted me at the beginning of the time window that a tech was ready to do the service: unfortunately, I wasn't going to be home in time and had to reschedule. They rescheduled for when I'd be home and tech was there within 10 minutes of me arriving home. I was going to our base a different toilet from them, but tech informed me that it was unnecessary. Another company probably would have jumped on the chance to upsell, but tech was honest, gave me some information on how to get the best performance out of toilet and went on his way to his next stop. I'm a big fan of good service and am willing to spend more for good service - luckily I received great service backed by honesty. You can't really ask for much more. I will definitely be calling on Anderson for any future plumbing needs!

It was an emergency plumbing situation. It was 9:40 Thursday night. Their ad says open 24/7 but call goes to answering service. They tell you they will ask plumber to call you. Plumber doesn't call. When you call back they tell you to call back in the morning. If it could have waited until morning I would have waited. Meanwhile, precious time lost, and still in need of a plumber. Bottom line false advertising. They are not open 24/7 - at least they were not for me.

From the initial meeting where options were clearly discussed to the installation of all new equipment, I could not be happier with the job done. Our furnace fan is so quiet that we can seldom detect it is even on. This is a huge improvement over the noisy furnace that we replaced.

We have/ had an emergency flood on a Sunday. The whole house flooded with 2 inches of water. We contacted this company and was told no appointments until Monday. They advertise 24/7 service but want us to wait until Monday? WOW.... I guess that's why their motto is nobody wow's clients like they do. WOW in our desperate time of need.

This is a bad review. there is no other way to put it. friday late afternoon the heater stopped working. WE called around 4/4:30 and no companies wanted to work. So I thought about ASI and Anderson advertising. So I called Anderson. Yes they are very nice and polite. Yes they would come out but at 4:30 they are closing and said instead of the $68 normal call fee it would be $100. And the girl nicely mentioned that normally they have a coupon for the $68 but there is nothing for ""after hours'. So I am stuck with having to accept the fee. The guy is just done the street and gets here in a few minutes. In fact he says he lives down the street (really?) So we have a drop down ladder to the attic so getting up to the furnace is a piece of cake. He comes back immediately and says the switch for the furnace door failed. He wants to show it to me so I fo and look and it is obvious when you take the door off the furnace (really a sheet metal cover.) He has one on the truck and it is a really fast and easy fix. Great I'm thinking although I am still irked at the $100. But if it gets fixed quick and easy it will not be bad.
... Wait for it ...
I ask him how much we owe him and with the after hours fee we are talking close to $500. I said that is outrageous. He replied that is what we charge. I don't have a choice. We got REAMED.
This is the most unscrupulous and atrocious charge I have ever even heard of. What is worst about this? I look up carrier furnace door switch and they retail for $20. It is a fix so easy a child can do it. I am disgusted.

When Anderson says they Wow their customers they are not kidding;

WOW! ~~ I REALLY GOT SCREWED! ~~ WOW WOW WOW.

I have a 39 month old Ruud water heater that stopped producing hot water. The pilot light was working. The Honeywell thermostat attached to the front had a flashing red status light (7 times) which indicates a ""Gas Control or Valve"" Failure"". In my mind it sounded like a component failure (thermostat).

All communications were very professional. Technician Fernando and his assistant Abel came out to diagnose and were very polite. They fiddled with the thermostat for 10 minutes and disappeared into the truck to work up an estimate. Fifteen minutes later I was given an estimate of over $1000. According to them, the whole burner assembly needed to be replaced, which required the tank to be drained, basically rebuilding the water heater as well as replacing the thermostat. It would take hours. Something was starting to smell fishy.

Subsequently contacted other plumbers whose consensus was simply replacing the thermostat. Had it done for under $225 including a new Honeywell thermostat. It took under 30 minutes.

One plumber mentioned that some plumbers at the bigger companies work on a commission basis, which I can't confirm, but attempting to gouge a customer so extremely like this is truly despicable. Read some of the other 1 star reviews - they all say pretty much the same thing. These guys give honest tradesmen a bad name. DO NOT CALL ANDERSON PLUMBING!

They wanted me to pay for a video scope that I already had done in order to even provide a quote for a repair. I offered to provide pictures from the video scope I already had done, but they refused. I'm not a big fan of paying twice for things, so I'll find another outfit that wants to do the work. Veronica is who I spoke with.

Apparently I have to repost this because it lacked specifics on my reasoning for -1 stars. This is precisely why I left the review in the first place. Anderson is full of excuse after excuse, has their spin doctor/quality control person trying to clean up their messes for all to see, and when they can't they have Yelp take it down. All concerning to the consumer and prospective clients.

The issue: prepaid for the installation of AC/heating units. Work completed upstairs and partially downstairs. Installers come out for 3 hours to finish the job and provide every excuse under the sun while they can not, and ultimately say because the siding in the residence is not complete (new construction). This was after the General Contractor spoke with their personnel and it was assured the job could be completed. End result, we freeze currently in a large portion of the downstairs depending on overnight temperatures, repeated inquiries asking for their justification for not completing the work unanswered from their minister of propaganda who so eloquently answers every other Yelp review for all to see. I patiently await a response or her reaching out to Yelp to have this taken down as well.
