Glenn C.I have used them numerous times over the past 15 years. The last few times I have been very disappointed. Their miminum pricing has gone up and the workers have been padding the time. They starting charging from leaving their shop or last client. I have complained but only received a small credit. The last time I had them come to fix a leak in our yard again that they previously fixed. The crew came and said they werent the right crew eventhough 1 of the people was involved before. Since they were already here i had them look at 2 drains. 10 minutes of work for 115 dollars. I was happy in the past with a replacement battery backup sump pump and new water heater several years ago but i draw the line at dishonesty. The leak was eventually fixed after their 1 outdoor crew cancelled multiple times and 1 month of waiting. I expected to get a credit based on the lack of service of the last visit. Didnt happen. I wont use them again. I like supporting local businesses but there are many others to use.
Kyle B.Excellent service, price and communication. Plumbers were punctual, courteous and extremely friendly. Will be using them for any future plumbing needs.
S. Maull...Have used this company going back to the early 80's but something has changed. Used them today Jan 13, 2021. Charged $156 an hour, were here ~10 minutes and said they could not help. Nothing offered as to alternatives to fix problem other than to refer me to another company. In the past, when something like this has happened and there was significant time left on the hour, they would ask if there was anything else they could help with ? Not today. The 2 guys that showed up were happy to take the $156 and they left. I can close the book on Anderson Hills Plumbing.
I caution you to think before calling this plumber for several reasons:
1. They are expensive. That aside, we decided to ""buy local"" and called them.
2. I called for them to come over to repair a faucet and possibly remove a toilet seat that we could not remove (all in one toilet with no way to reach bolts. Found out through Kohler later that there is a much different way to remove this seat than your average toilet). After they tried for about 10 minutes to remove the seat with no luck he decided to pull it off saying ""there's more than one way to remove a toilet seat"". While tearing off the seat, he broke off the bolt leaving no way to remove it. Not once did he ask me if that would be okay to do--he just did it. No remorse after, no apology. What he did tell me was that he would have his 'higher up' look at the picture of the broken bolt and see if they had any ideas but that we would most likely have to purchase a new toilet. After reviewing the photo, the 'higher up' called me and said we needed to buy a new toilet. So what started out as a $140 charge is now turning into upwards of $600 with the purchase of a toilet and a plumber charge (which will not be Anderson Hills Plumbing). Ridiculous! And the faucet that he was going to fix is in worse shape than before he got here. I will NEVER use this company again. When I complained, they offered to get the Kohler kit for removal of the seat and install that at a ""nominal charge"" (assuming that it would work after the damage he did). I urge you to call a different company for your plumbing needs.
I'm very impressed with Jack and Jeff at Anderson Hills Plumbing. They have been very helpful even though I didn't even hire them because they do not do the type of work I needed. They have been great at helping me sort out my problem and not be taken advantage of by another plumber who tried to sell me on expensive services that are not really needed.
Beware: these people do good work, however they are very expensive. I had a short connection under the sink pipe hookup that took approx. 1 hour and they charged $400.00. Get the price before they start the work.
Amy B.On a Sunday, our water heater decided to die. I called Anderson Hills Plumbing and was able to speak to them first thing on Monday. They initially thought it would take another day to source our top of the line water heater. Ultimately, they under promised and over delivered as they ended up getting the equipment that day and made a last minute change in schedule to install our new water heater so we could shower that evening. Our family was grateful for the quick work of our local company. Thanks Anderson Hills Plumbing!
They did a great job fixing a water leak at the main line coming into the house. Thank you.
Guy B.I have used AHP on over half a dozen occasions between my home and for my mom's place. I have mixed emotions about this business.
Pros:
- Local family owned business
- They do quality work
Cons:
- Unless you have an emergency, expect a wait of up to a week for service. On more than one occasion I had to choose a different plumber because I needed service sooner than they could arrive.
- They are a bit expensive based on other services I have used. And make sure you check the time the workers arrive, I once was almost charged an extra half hour of labor until I challenged the bill.
DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER!!!!! I called them to investigate a leak in my kitchen. I come downstairs to find that WITHOUT CONSULTING ME, they have cut a very large hole in my ceiling!!!!! They then tell me that this hole will require me to hire a drywall professional and paint my entire ceiling - a very expensive job. I was not consulted at ANY point in this process. When I express my dismay at this and ask to speak with the owner of the company, the owner of the company instructs them to pack up and leave my house!!! The problem was not diagnosed, and I now have a very large hole in my ceiling to deal with. This is the first online review I have ever written and I am furious.
