I went to these guys because the Yelp reviews looked good. Wow, was I disappointed. These guys charged over $2,000 (Mostly labor) for a job that they told me was going to take 5 hours, but then the guy called me about 90 minutes after starting and said 'yep', we're all done'. What a joke. Stay AWAY.

I understood from reviews here that there would be a charge to come out to give an estimate, it was $65. Dakota was on time. The purpose of this visit was to determine the house system with 2 existing water heaters in one house and another system in our guest house, water softeners for both and an RO system for the main house. I showed him the layout and the clear problems left by other plumbers as well as a new water heater I had bought, asking if it was the right one. He said it would be easy to determine the answers to all my questions and gave me verbally the sales pitch for about $13K of equipment he said he could install immediately.
I asked for written information with the options he discussed and he agreed to send, I paid him and he left. But he only sent me a proposed invoice for the items he wanted me to buy. I politely texted him for the information for the house system and the model numbers and such for the items he recommended, and asked if it would be another charge for him to come out to get those answers.
He wanted to chat on the phone, he said the system "should be" this or that. I stayed polite as he tried several times to faff me off. I didn't want a chat, I wanted the actual information on my house set up. Which heater serves which bathrooms? How can we determine the GPM for the tankless heater if we dont know what it serves?
I was willing to pay for another service call. He was irritated but asked when he could come back with no charge. I said sure and gave him dates within days.
He wrote a long text saying how "empathetic" he has been and how he's given me options some nonsense about not being able to do better over text and backhandedly fired me as a client. No return date. At least he said he would refund my $65.
So I am learning about these plumbers in San Antonio. They just want to sell you their equipment, they dont have the confidences in their products or service to answer relevant questions.
From reviews it looks like they may actually do good work and install good items, but I'll be doing my own research on the items and using plumbers who will answer questions.

Anchor plumbing gave me the most reasonable price for a new tankless water heater for my home compared to 4 other plumbing companies that I got quotes from . The technician was very knowledgeable answered all my questions and was done after a couple of hours . Highly recommended

Down to the wire, this company at every level from the owner, reception, consultation, service, has the customer in mind. I was very anxious to find reliable and affordable plumbing. Dakota thoroughly explained what needed to be done and gave me several options, from the most minimal cost and immediate fix of the issue, to minor/major improvements to better my plumbing after the immediate work.

My water pressure had bottomed out, I had no water softener, the problem was quickly diagnosed, there was no overselling and many options were given, Ralph and Gerson were prompt in fixing the problem same day as the consultation, and educated me on my new softener system.

From my initial response from the owner, phone call setup, in home consultation, to service was lightspeed. My water pressure, quality is beyond outstanding and the work physically is clean and not sloppy, the quality of materials and workmanship genuinely show. These guys are a must have for any of your plumbing solutions, I wouldn't call anyone else.

TLDR;
Water psi was at 30 at a faucet outside, couldn't do laundry or take a shower, do dishes, etc. Bad prv, expansion tank replacement, needed water softener to improve water quality. Quick fast service, many options to pay, different levels of improvement based on budget, no overselling or pressuring, patient, understanding, and educational service.

Post repair/install: Psi at 70, water softener improved water quality significantly, entire home is running better than ever.

Pete came out to replace a pressure regulator valve and add an expansion tank on the water heater. They came quickly and finished work quickly. We ended up getting him to attach the water heater flue solidly, as well. What a nice man and very responsive company. I would refer my friends to this company ant time. I'm keeping the company name along with Pete's name in my contacts for future use. Great value for the work completed.

The technicians are friendly. However the technicians are more sales persons than plumbers: (1) The $289 diagnosis fee is totally a rip off. The whole "diagnosis" simply involved opening a tiny hole on dry wall, and poking in a LED camera for some inconclusive images. Anchor Plumbing will refund 50% of this $289 diagnosis fee if they are haired for the project. Apparently, the company uses this $289 fee as bait, so that customers will spend more money with them. (2) the technicians are well trained to take advantage of customer's insufficient knowledge in plumbing and eagerness to have the issues fixed. The technicians saved no effort guiding customers to believe blooming a couple hundred-dollar small repair into thousands of dollars large repair is a better option. Anchor Plumbing has no interest to work on a small project, unless customers accept their inflated proposal. It is clear Anchor Plumbing prioritizes their interest over customer's. Please have a second thought before reaching out to Anchor Plumbing.

Prices are high - esp for a clogged drain. The guys that came out were super Knowledgeable and helped us understand why the situation occurred. I'd give higher stars if the prices weren't so high(nearly $300 for a clogged drain - way too much). But they we're very receptive!l and very professional.

Had a wonderful experience with Anchor Plumbing today! Their communication was great, with text update and a call when the technician was on the way. They were able to get me in for a same day appointment and the technician, Brandon, was on time, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He fixed my issue (a leaking kitchen sink!) and took a look at some other plumbing items in the house just to check everything out while here. We recently bought the house, so he was able to educate me on several general plumbing items that are good to know as a new home owner and explained what we should address now vs later. I asked a lot of questions and he gave detailed explanations about what to look out for in older homes like mine. He was able to fix my issue quickly and for a great price. I also learned a lot in the time he was here! I will be calling them for all of my future plumbing needs!
