Scheduled an appointment for a plumbing issue, gave us a window between 9-11, so I stayed home from work to be here. I called at 10:45 to get an update, said the guy won't be here for another hour...

Poor communication, cost me several hours from work. I do not recommend them!

They helped me with my problem over the phone!

I got an appointment like I thought I would and they called me just like you would think to let me know they were on their way...but then it was different and amazing.

The conversation stated with, ""Walk me through your problem and I'll see if I can save you a whole bunch of money.""

Eddie walked me through my problem, which turned out to simply be a burned fuse in my furnace. He described exactly what I was looking at and helped me every step along the way. After 5 min on the phone and a quick trip to Home Depot for a fuse, my heat and air work just fine.

If I ever have a problem with plumbing, heating and air again, you can bet my first call will be to American Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning!

I'm just going to bullet point this review.
I live in LA and have a rental house in San Diego.
I'm also a woman who knows nothing about plumbing!!
My house is old and I have had plumbing issues in the past.
I call around blind trying to get estimates and pick the person I
feel won't rip me off. In the past I have had terrible experiences and paid
way too much for terrible jobs!!!

All that changed when I met David Peralta at American Plumbing and Backflow.
He did an amazing job at less that 1/2 the cost!!!
He is super reliable, nice, honest, hard working... I really can't say enough great things about him. I will never call anyone else!!! The office staff are very nice also!
You would be foolish not to at least give them a chance...you will see AMAZING!!!

Sorry I have to give this a two star. The tech that came out was wonderful very informative.
My reason for one star is I was informed the free estimate like on your website stops at the front door. First I was told it would be $180. to tell me what was wrong which the tech had to research and did not find anything he could fix only referred us to a flood service company because the leak/water damaged was undetermined.
Then after seeing the charge should be min 139.00 for telling us what may be wrong and calling the company who verified it was free only to come to the door. The"" free"" (not free) estimate is very strange to me. Please contact me if I got something wrong. I will correct myself.

I wish I could have given the tech a 5 star because he was very nice, but I want people to know the free is only to come to your door.

I have used them twice. The first time the service was fine. The second time I was told I had to wait 3 days for an appointment. I called 15 minutes after the appointment was scheduled and the receptionist told me the plumber would not be able to make it for another day. Very disappointing!

WAY OVERPRICED. CHARGED ME $490 to replace garbage disposal. I looked up model after and found brand new ones from $80-$130. So he charged me $360 in labor for half hour of work. The plumber (David) was nice and on time and even offered me $33 off the original price quoted of $523. Work seemed to be good. Too bad I will never call them again because they fleeced me on the price.

UPDATE: 1/28. After seeing my review, Jessie called me and explained that I had been charged the wrong rate and offered to refund me the difference of $125. The total cost is now $365. Still a bit high but I appreciate the effort to correct the problem. Thanks

So.....I understand that today is New Years Eve but I placed a call around 10AM regarding a pilot light in my central heat that wont stay lit and thus my house is freezing (even mentioned that) and to my surprise they scheduled a tech to come out before 4PM today..........Here's the problem, the tech they sent specializes in water heaters and didn't know the first thing about central air/heat. I call back assuming that they realized the mistake and would get someone out.........Wrong assumption.......The next available time would be almost a week from now.....A bunch of good ratings on here, that's why I called but after this, wont call again......somebody else will get my maintenance business going forward.......Piss poor note taking and customer service on their part!

Can't tell you how much I appreciate their short window of when they said they would come and fix our gas leak. They said between 2 pm and 3 pm and that they would call before they arrived - they did better than that they called and said they could come earlier.

David Perata was our service technician very professional nice and did not mind my badly behaved dog. Quick, prompt and courteous what more could you ask for?

OMG. The Best....Robert Corlee came over cleaned and checked out my heater. What a nice guy. Was polite and on time. I bought my service on Amazon local. I will recommend him to all my friends thanks American plumbing for hiring this great guy. :)

About a month ago, I had American Plumbing come out to look at my AC unit that had stopped working. The repair man told me the compressor had seized and that I would need a brand new unit. The cost would be at least $2200! My unit is only 6 yrs old so I decided to get a second opinion and I'm really glad I did. Another company was able to repair my existing AC unit for under $200. Needless to say I won't be calling American Plumbing again.
