Tommy is great. Eight months ago, our pool had a slow leak. Tommy came out and went though some tests but did not find the leak at the first trip; he came back found the leak in the light area. He made a video and a complete report. He also fixed the leak with epoxy and recommended to find a longer-term repair. We did not do that until now, as it shows a slow leak again. Tommy recommended us to another pool company. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. Tommy has been very helpful from then and now; we understand that fixing is not part of the detection job. Tommy is honest and you can trust him.

American Leak Detection came out and assessed our pool in early Spring. The leak detector was very nice and polite and that is the only reason I am giving them 2 stars. I advised the leak detector that I thought the pool was leaking around the light. The leak detector allegedly investigated the light as well as the pool lines and seam, but could not figure out what was wrong. When the leak detector left he did not leave the system in the same manner as he found it. The owner did have the leak detector come back out and made sure the system was left in the same manner it was found.
However, after several more months of our swimming pool leaking water, we called Leakology to reassess the leak. I bet you will never guess what was leaking. Of course it was leaking around the pool light. Leakology resolved our issue and I am a happy camper as the pool is no longer leaking water.

Matthew did a great job fixing the leaks in my pool. He showed up on time and even came out on a Saturday to take care of the leak before it could do more damage to the structure below the pool. He was very professional and I was very impressed with the care he took to ensure the job was done right. I will use him again if I ever get another leak.

There was a situation in our home where water was overflowing in our garage each time we ran the washer or the dishwasher. My husband wanted to call American Leak Detection to come out and see what was going on. Upon arrival, the two men used their scope camera to look inside the overflow pipe in the garage and told us that we had a "collapsed pipe" on the side of the house that was by the kitchen/laundry room. When I expressed concern about a "smell" (like sewage) in the hallway in the center of the house, they said that likely there was ANOTHER collapsed pipe by the master bedroom. They quoted that the job would cost roughly $20,000 dollars, but that maybe something could be "worked out" once the job was bid.
Of course, I insisted to my husband that we get a second opinion, as they workers seemed a bit "slow", and it felt more like a sales pitch rather than actual diagnostics. THIS time, I would be selecting the company. I reached out to another company, highly recommended to me by a friend who is an apartment manager at a local apartment community. They came out, and, using the exact same scope camera, were able to tell me that the main line of the house was clogged. And guess where...right in the hallway in the center of the house, where I was smelling the nasty sewage smell! They used some jet thingy and were able to clear the main line...all for $450 dollars.
When you check other reviews, you will see that this is a common problem...their technicians not knowing what they are doing or how to operate their equipment, excessive charges, and outlandish repair recommendations.
American Leak Detection is unethical, its workers don't know what they are doing, and they are going to try and take your money and won't even fix the actual problem. Do yourself a favor and stay FAR away from this company, unless you like to hand your hard-earned money over to swindling businesses like this one.

The did a fine job finding a slab leak and laying out where the pipes were for my plumber to fix. I was under the impression they only found leaks but didn't fix them at least here in Orange County, California. Jimmy was thorough and courteous.

Their technician misdiagnosed my shower pan as faulty and the source of a leak. After I spent $2,000 digging up my master shower, and finding a perfectly good shower pan; they sent a second opinion technician, who assessed it was actually just the need for a new seal around my bathtub pipe where it is connected to the floor. (A $5, five-minute fix). Their general manager, Rick Winters, responded to the detailed documentation I sent him with a short email stating essentially it's not their fault. Please find another leak detection service.

Called last week knowing we had a leak in our pool system. Justin came out for the quoted price for leak detection, did an excellent job finding the leak. Was quoted for the repair, checked out the quote which was reasonable and book the repair for today. They called when on the way. They had to jack hammer through the concrete and found the leak right where he had marked it. Did an excellent job of repairing and patching the hole. Fantastic job!

This was a serious waste of money for me. They essentially charged $675 to spray a hose at my exterior wall for half an hour then noted that there was water coming somewhere into the floor at one particular spot. They then recommended us to a foundation engineer (who ultimately said he wasn't the right guy to fix out issue).

We eventually got a different contractor (Mark) to come take a look who did a much more thorough job. Mark pinpointed the leak to a much more specific location and thus came up with a specific fix. Mark also found additional leak locations which American Leak detection missed. Mark did all this for free and also wrote a proposal for repairs.

Skip American Leak Detection, hire Mark instead.

Rick and his team provided EXCELLENT service and performed great work in what would have otherwise been a very challenging, stressful situation. There was a leak under our foundation, but with one call to American Leak Detection an incredibly professional team arrived, located the leak, and started repairs. Rick provided updates throughout the process so we knew what needed to happen and why. The pricing was fair and transparent and the work was completed on time (the weather didn't co-operate, but Rick and his team found a way). Major plumbing repairs can be incredibly stressful for any homeowner but ALD made the process a whole lot better. Based on the work and care American Leak Detection took with my home, this is the only plumbing company I would ever call.

Read reviews and after talking with them about determining where my leak was coming from into my basement I hired them. Waste of money, the report was very vague! Talked to them several times definitely not helpful.
