John T.We had a leak in our pool, and called to have ALD come out and find it for us. Matua arrived exactly when he was scheduled, and thoroughly checked our pool, and located the leak in our hot tub pressure lines.
We discussed pricing for repair, and his quote was entirely reasonable. There were a few scheduling snafus with the main office, but Matua was also the one to come out to do the repairs over 1.5 days.
Matua was prompt at 8am again. After removing a small rectangle of the concrete pool decking, I was shown where the leak was, and given a few options for the repair itself, one of which was less expensive than the original estimate (which I appreciated). After making my selection, the repairs were made, and it was decided to let the pvc glues cure overnight before pressure testing them the next day, and filling the hole back in with dirt and topping it with concrete.
The next day, Matua was exactly on schedule. He pressure checked the plumbing, and then filled the hole with dirt capped with concrete. At every step of the way, when there was a decision to be made, or a stopping point at which there was something to show me how the work was progressing, he gave me a call to allow me to come see, and ask any questions I had.
While I sincerely hope I never have to call ALD again, if I do, I know I'll be in good hands, and I'll definitely be asking for Matua.
Juan did an excellent job both detecting the leak in our pool and replacing the skimmer. I would highl recommend American Leak Detection. --Patrick
I used this company last year for leak detection and pipe repairs. They saved me thousands compared to the other plumbers whose only offered solution was to re-pipe my whole house. Last week I had them come out to check what I thought was a leak in our shower. Juan Bueno, the technician checked thoroughly and determined that it was just a bad bottom seal on the shower door. I ended up fixing that myself, and they did not even charge me for the house call--the charge was zero! This kind of honesty and customer service is like something from back in the 1950's. I totally recommend this company.
Sean G.Update. It's Wednesday 2 days after the work.
I patched the outside wall myself after they left it that way.
The techs didn't put the washers drainage tube back in the drain. My wife just ran the washer for the first time since they did the work on Monday. And I have a flood in my laundry room due to this mistake.
I called the company and spoke to the receptionist. Let's see what happens now. Attaching the videos. I can't make this shit up.
I can't say enough that I don't know if this might just be a bad tech or this might just be bad business practice. We shall see.
They are responsive to schedule appointments and tech was friendly. Came out twice and didn't find the leak. Paid $425 with no resolution to problem. I don't think they do more than pressure testing even when requesting additional services other leak detection companies do. Seems like they were doing bare minimum of contract and I'm disappointed leak wasn't found.
Not to be trusted. Paid them to find my leaks. There were more than one leak, and one I could actually see. We told them this, and asked if they would find ALL leaks when they came out and did the leak detection test. They said yes, came out, and then found the one visible leak and no others. I fixed the one visible leak with the company who had initially seen the visible leak, and of course the other more serious leak was still leaking. Called American Leak and they said they'd have to charge to come out again and do another leak detection test! They didn't stand by their word, instead pointing to the fine print which said they will only locate one leak, etc etc. Totally different than what we were told. And, if they do find your leak, their estimates are super high. Get you in the door with a low leak detection price, and then hammer you with a high quote. Be careful with this company!
30 years ago our main water line was installed and has taken the opportunity to leak a couple times. I fixed it the first two times but this time it was beyond what I'm prepared to do. Also, I feared that the leak was under the garage floor. Joey came out to tell me my nightmare was true.
Joey and his team came out, cut through the concrete and dug down to fix the leaked. So far so good, right! Only to discover an another leak farther down the line.
Joey was flexible and adapted when we had to completely replace the entire line to the side of the house. No one wants to spend money in this way, but if you must, it should be with a firm like this and workers like Joey. We trust him and will recommend them to take care of business.
Rebecca P.I have been dealing with a plumbing issue, out of 5 companies, this Compnay, I'm particularly Juan has been nothing short of AMAZING, honest and reliable. I truly have to say, if your having an issue or considering a company, look no further. They are honest, fair and truly have the homeowners best Interest at heart.
Derek Y.DONT TRUST TO FIX POOL CRACKS OR YOU WILL BE PAYING AGAIN FOR IT TO BE REPAIRED BY ANOTHER COMPANY. Had a crack in the pool causing water to leak into the ground. They came, tested and determined this was the reason for the leak. To put a black liquid in front of the crack and seeing it went into the crack costs $350. Spent over $4,000 to repair it which entailed just applying a syringe of glue basically, sand it down and repainted the area to a different color than the pool is. Surprise surprise.. pool man showed me that the crack is back and open and probably why my water bill has skyrocketed. Called American Leak Detection who was quick to point out they have a 30 day warranty. I guess they dont trust their own work beyond 30 days.. that's a sign right there.. they wanted another $350 to come in TWO WEEKS to put more black die in pool and watch it go into same crack they ""fixed"" 10 months ago. Then it would cost me another $4000+ to repair again. Why ? it's really too bad.. technicians were great but company not so much. Avoid or you'll be paying someone else to repair same again correctly.
I was told that I had a leak in my water lines from the water district'. I could not find the leak so I called American Leak Detectors. Their tech came out and identified the leak in my garage. I hired a contractor to fix the leak and after days of digging and breaking up concrete he could not find the leak. we finally tracked the water line from the meter and found the leak in the front yard where the tech never looked. They said they were sorry but all they can do is relocate for the leak. it cost thousands for their mistake and they don't even care. BEWARE this is not a reliable company. Get a second opinion.
