In 2018 we noticed a sharp increase in our water bills. Although no water or water damage was showing, it was obvious we had a leak under the concrete slab of our home. Our plumber recommended we call in American Leak Detection of South Florida, which describes itself as a """"leak specialist."""" On Nov. 6, 2018, two technicians from ALD visited our home and identified the leak as being under the slab in a bedroom which we use as an office. The expensive flooring in this room had been installed only one year earlier, and now had to be broken up to repair the leak. Based on the ALD analysis, our plumber did break up the wooden flooring and underlying concrete, to a depth of about 20 inches, before he found the water line. What he didn't find was a leak. There was no leak where ALD said it was. ALD was notified and then dispatched its field service supervisor, who did further tests and found the leak - IN AN ADJOINING ROOM. In other words, the many hours of work the plumber had spent in our office and the destruction of our office floor was completely unnecessary! The unnecessary plumbing work and the floor replacement have cost us more than $2,200 (in addition to the $425 we paid ALD to find the leak). All efforts to get ALD to accept responsibility for its error have failed. The company's operations manager, Nicholas Vargas, has avoided telephone calls and a certified letter. He did call once, at the request of our plumber, and asked for copies of the plumber's report and invoices for the repair work in question, which we provided. That was approximately four weeks ago. Nothing further has been heard. If you should be so unfortunate as to develop a leak in your plumbing system, I would urge you to think twice before using the services of American Leak Detection of South Florida. They may be """"leak specialists,"""" but they clearly do not stand behind their work or accept responsibility for their mistakes.

Had an appointment this morning. Michael took my call and said someone would be here between 830am-930am. No show, no call. I waited 2 hours. Big waste of time. Typical south florida company. Very unprofessional. I recommend hiring a smaller company.

after paying plumbers to diagnose my leak and give me the wrong diagnosis, Milton found my leaks and saved the day. I learned an expensive lesson. plumbers can fix but not find your leak. Leak detectors and their employee, Milton's tenacity saved me from water damage all over my floor. I highly recommend them.

I've always had a positive experience with American Leak Detection. They are reliable, thorough, and credible.

Call insurance company regarding of leak in my home, they sent Americal Leak Detection to inspect the problem. America Leak pinpoint exactly where the leak was. Gave quote in writing what it would cost to re-route and price to go directly. I chosen to re-route which they did with very damage to walls. The two young men that did the repair, Milton is one of name don't know other guy name, was very pleasant to work with they work with good integrity. Job well done

American leak detection was great. On time and courteous. The gentleman (I forgot his name) who came out was very thorough and took his time. At the end he explained everything and the report we received by email included pictures which I thought was awesome. I would absolutely use them again if needed and have already recommended them to others.

The plumber (I can't remember his name unfortunately) did a fine job and so did Diane. This was at the time of the hurricane so it took awhile to repair because of all the problems everyone had but it did get done to my satisfaction. However, their prices are astronomical. The plumber said up front that it would be my expense but $350.00 to come to my house and it took him 15 minutes to find the leak is a bit much in my opinion. To repair the leak was $1395.00 (ouch) and to replace the pipe from the meter to my house was $2495.00 (ouch, ouch). I have no intention of moving so opted for the latter. A very expensive repair but it had to be done. BEWARE, my neighbor had the same problem and once our water was back on, our water heaters started leaking.... we both had to replace that next and I don't think it was a coincidence but a casualty of the repair.

Used the services of the South Florida location. The field agent Robert was very knowledgeable and made me avoid taking expensive measures for a seemingly alarming situation into realizing that my tenant kept the apartment too hot, the AC was not well maintenanced and could not cool the air and keep it dry. The office on the other hand were a nightmare to deal with. Diane is the 'pay for our services then byebye' type who will not even offer a 'sorry for your convenience' when canceling a planned tech visit after the planned time. The tech is sick, yes I understand, but there are more courteous ways to communicate with customers, and especially not answering emails when they are too confrontational to your liking is a lousy way of performing customer service. Must I talk about the report? The report that was handed to me (a $350 dollar piece of report!) was more of a crypted long SMS with no flow, no presentation, no good grammar...'tech did this.' 'Tech found out that...this.' Really?? If I had not had the human explanation over the phone by the actual tech, I dunno how I'd have interpreted this gibberish. Must I also talk about the fact that contacting your office to be put in connection with someone ( a real human voicemail! 'I ll send them a message to contact you') in California who has no idea who I am (I can't even give a file number, I have to repeat my details over and over again!)) is highly ineficient? Anyway, I usually don't rant like this but this felt good to lift off my chest. I will use your services again though because there simply are too many actual scam leak detection companies in South Florida and its so tough to find one!! Peace!

I had a leak under the slab of my home from one of my supply pipes. The copper pipes are all incased in polyethylene tubing so it is impossible to locate the exact location of the leak but the water will come out somewhere that the poly tubing comes back up through the slab. The insurance company picked A L D to come check it out which they did and quickly determined which of the three supply lines was the issue. All good so far. They also gave me a price to circumvent the problem area and get my system back in working order. In my opinion the price was really high but since the insurance company picked them and I thought they were going to pay them I figured l should let them do the work. Turns out the insurance wasn't going to pay for the repair and I'm pretty sure that A L D knew that but didn't mention that to me. When they asked me to pay them directly I did so thinking I would be reimbursed by insurance and said so. Again, no response. The work was done professionally and on schedule. The primary tech (plumber) knew his stuff and did quality work. I suppose it's my fault for not knowing my policy wouldn't cover the repairs to the system; only the damage done by the leak was covered but it would have been nice to hear it from someone who knew that already. Well here's your warning!

Diane was very helpful in coordinating the repairs. i had a complicated situation and she was able to help.
