Wow, these guys were so fair and honest and communicative. They solved my leak at a fraction of the price others were quoting. Plus he's so nice!

If you have a pool leak, do not call this company. They do not do the full job. If your heater needs to be moved, they don't do that. So what do they do? Well, they claim to locate leaks, but I can't validate that claim.

That's what the say they do and they say they're the best. Not so fast there Wet Willy. After digging where they said the leak was, I did not find any signs of a leak. No water, no wet dirt. Nothing that would indicate a leak. So, I called them to come out and give it another try.

The second crew said the leak was right where the first guy said it was. Even after I told them there was no water where they said the leak was the told me water does strange things and isn't necessarily where the leak is. WHAT??? Did I hear that right. Sure did. So, they gave me a crazy high bid to fix the leak and said I needed to get another contractor to do part of the job they don't do. What the heck?

So I hired a guy to cut the concrete and dig where the leak was identified TWICE, and, you guessed it, no leak. BOTH ""technicians"" from American Leak Defective FAILED to locate the leak. BOTH OF THEM! Major fail, TWICE.

And they offer no guarantee unless you use them to do the repair at their extremely over priced rate. Seriously, $1650 to repair a pipe they said was right there under a little concrete and less than 2 feet down. Don't waste your money. These guys failed twice and took my $395 and spent less than 90 minutes total. What a joke. And I'm out the $395 and still looking for the leak. I'm also looking for a pool company to do the job right. I'll let you know who to call once this is over.

Don't waste your money on American Leak Defective.

They came out to do a home test for an elderly friend of mine who is hard of hearing, gets easily confused, and can be aggressively defensive and challenging to work with sometimes. The technician from American Leak Detection, Quintin, was very patient with my friend, and as helpful as possible given the situation. He did a great job and I appreciate the way he handled the situation!

Jeff and crew are great examples American hard working honest enterprise. My 50 year old concrete pool's copper plumbing collapsed and I needed pool re-plumbed and updated with 2 inch return lines and the concrete deck cut and skimmer assembly installed. Not an easy job. They looked at it and knew exactly what I needed and how to do it. They came exactly on the date set and when I offered to pay half at start and balance on completion, they said their policy is pay at completion and when the system is working. Unheard of in this age. It all went perfect, they respected the flower plants, covered up neat and left the job site clean. Good people good crew.

In September of 2014 we had this company perform their leak detection service on our pool in Chico.

The Tech indicated that he determined that he felt there was a slight leak in the sweep line, but that he could not pinpoint where it was exactly.

He said that we should wait until the leak got worse and then have them come back out and test again because it would be easier to detect at that time. He also indicated that retesting would be included in the $400 fee we had paid.

Today I called the company to try to set up the retesting and was told that the company only guarantees its work for 30 days, so since we were beyond that point we were not going to receive additional assistance. Also they said that, Colin, the tech that did the work originally was no longer with the company. How convenient!

I would NOT recommend this organization to anyone and am extremely disappointed that the ""owner"" does not honor what the representatives of his organization promise.

Steer clear!!

This is long overdue. We used Valley Leak Detection three times already, as someone thought it was a fantastic idea to plant redwood trees by the pool, and they keep destroying the pipes.

They are very efficient and knowledgeable, and, more importantly, honest and trustworthy. They are good at coming out quickly, and they are very thorough. Their prices are fair and they fix it the first time.

Listen to this story - We recently bought a house with a pool that had an undisclosed leak in it. There had been a prior leak detection done on it by Bullseye and Bullseye put a ring of epoxy around the skimmer and called it fixed. THIS DID NOTHING. We called them back and they wanted to charge us $800 again to come out again.When we said that we had already paid for the leak detection they hung up the phone on us. Enough was enough and we were losing 100,000 gallons of water every two months so we started looking for a new solution.

Greg came out and calmed me down - which is tough in itself. He did not quit until the work was done!! That meant back and forth over a couple of weeks testing the different sections of the pool. It turned out we had cracks in our water feature / spill over and a break in our underground main return. Greg - working with Tim from Aquatic Solutions -

1. Developed a work around to keep the pool moving water appropriately
2. Stopped the leak in my main line
3. Put me in touch with someone to patch the cracks in the mortar from my spillover
4. Patched a few other areas that were or could become suspect
5. Checked in to make sure we were feeling good about the wrap up.

On top of that he did not even mind our kids!!!

I cannot recommend this company more. If you have a problem and YOU WANT IT FIXED!!! Then this is the company you want,

These guys are amazing. I would recommend them to anyone with a swimming pool leak. They found the leak, fixed the leak, and put the landscaping back together to the point where you would not even know they had done any excavating. Everyone I interacted with was helpful, knowledgeable, and very professional. And on top of all that, they were extremely fast and fairly priced.

We HIGHLY recommend Valley Leak Detection. We have had Geremia out since February trying to find the leak in our pool. They supposedly tried everything and told us that we would have to replaster the pool in order to fix the problem, costing us at least $5,000 to do so. We decided, since we have already wasted all summer of no pool use, to try Valley Leak Detection for a second opinion. He came out the next day, spent an hour and a half here, and fixed the leak. It only cost $250 to fix a problem that Geremia said would be close to $5,000. I am very grateful for their service. Very friendly, very professional, very knowledgeable.
On another note, DO NOT USE GEREMIA for any pool issues!!!(that will be a whole other review!)
