I don't typically leave Yelp reviews but wanted to give a quick mention. Max came out to fix a leak in my main. He was an absolute professional and did a great job. Considering it was about 110 degrees outside, he was still very friendly and worked hard. Thank you, Max!

Overcharged me for an incomplete inspection! I made an appointment and a tech arrived and spent one hour or less taking pictures and ""assessing"" possible leaks. At one point he calls me and says we're missing a valve to isolate a water stream and can therefore not complete the inspection. Wouldn't he know that right away when I showed him all our pool equipment? I immediately called the office and relayed that the tech said the inspection could not be completed. I told the office attendant I would like to be called before my credit card was charged since he was there at most an hour and couldn't isolate the leak. I wanted to be able to discuss the charges first. Instead, a number of days after the incomplete inspection I was charged $345 (less $50) with no call. It was very a very frustrating experience and the customer service was horrible. Beware, as you have to give your credit card before they will book an appointment, which should have been a tip off. They can charge whatever they want despite not performing the agreed upon contract of detecting at leak!

Excellent Service. Showed up on time after calling to let me know when he would be arriving. Was Meticulous about searching for a leak and talking to us about things we should consider doing etc. Turns out the leak is the neighbors' issue.

Do not hire, scammers pure and simple.
Charged me $495 to find me a Pool leak. Prior to them coming out, I specifically told them that I worked with the City and determined the leak was related to the Pool Fill Valve. Two guys came out and after less than 90 mins told that there wasn't a leak with any lines but that pool floatie was set incorrectly. Mind you that never has been an issue 15+ plus years. They also said they ""tested every pool and spa line"" and found no leak. Should have known something was fishy right then.
However, the leak was still happening so the City came out and did a leak inspection and determined that the leak was related to the Pool Fill Valve and the was not related at all to the Pool Floatie.
You would think that after proven wrong that a good faith company would come out and do the job properly? Nope, not American Leak Detection of Sacramento, they tried say I gave incorrect information at first and then they said that Pool Fill Valve is not actually apart of the Pool Leak inspection, it is actually part of the Home/Main line inspection and that would a different inspection ($$$) all together. How does that even make sense? Then to top it off they offered a hourly rate of $175 to test the Pool and Spa lines again? lol seriously
TLDR: Don't waste your money or time. These people just want to rip you off.

I've actually called this company twice now. The first time the very knowledgeable and incredibly nice lady who answered the phone walked me through how to do a bucket test with my pool to determine if it was leaking. Low and behold it is our pool leaking and not the sprinklers I suspected. I was able to determine there's a leak related to running the water falls after doing a couple of bucket tests using a couple of different scenarios. I called back with my results and they let me know it will likely be an issue I need to address with a pool builder which is a bummer but I really appreciate their guidance and kindness to get me to this point!

I was losing 2 to 3 inches of pool water every few days. The team from American Leak Detection spent a few hours testing all of the lines to/from the pool and within the 3rd hour detected a leak in a side wall return line. They made the repair and provided a full detailed report within the time and budget that was initially provided.
I would highly recommend them to detect a leak in your pool....

My 90 yr old dad had been working with American leak detection Roseville for several months. They charged him multiple times. Long story short, leaks never fixed. Office manager made every excuse possible. Owner never responded when questioned about unprofessional workmanship. Bullseye leak detection assessed the situation and fixed everything in 2 days. Don't trust American leak detection or their reviews.

We had a broken irrigation pipe and we were using 5,800 gallons of water per day per our water company. We had two different plumbers come out first to try to locate the leak. Neither of them were able to locate the leak. American Leak Detection came out and located the leak within 40 minutes of arriving at our house. He marked the location and was able to come back out 2 days later to fix the pipe. He then checked again for any leaks. Max was very professional & a great guy! He was awesome! Our only regret was not knowing about this company to call them first. We definitely highly recommend this company.

Their technician came out yesterday and found the leak. And, they do the type of repair I need to have done and will be sending me an estimate. The technician was very nice and worked for a long time checking everything out and found the problem.

My insurance hired American Leak Detection to find a leak. Their tech Zach comes out and determines where the leak is which was a spot 3 feet from the wall in the living room.
After getting a few quotes I chose a highly rated licensed plumbing contractor to do access and repair work since the insurance did not cover any part of it. If one were to simply go off Yelp ratings it's fair to say this company clearly outclasses American leak detection Sacramento by miles. I only say that because their response to my later inquiry was ""well we have no idea whom you hired they could have inferior skills,"" an interesting stretch considering they dug exactly and beyond where American Leak Detection indicated the leak was.
When this plumbing company could not find the leak that was marked by American leak detection they went a few ft beyond the marked location, they still could not determine the exact location of leak only the direction itself. Draining the hole and continuing to dig further it became futile and ultimately they decided it was best to have the leak position redetermined as it could be as much as 4 to 5 ft away. The plumbing contractor charged me nothing for the access work their techs spent hours doing, they felt bad and they felt it was on the detection company to be competent.
American Leak detection came out again and this time located the leak well over 5 feet away. I had them do the work so there would be no issues regarding their clear abhorrence of any liability. 4 days after finding the leak they sent someone to dig and patch.
Not only was their initial find off by numerous feet, they kept haranguing me that if the leak were in the same spot which somehow the office manager Maureen was absolutely convinced it would be, they'd have to charge me extra. No fewer than 5 times was that mentioned they seemed more concerned about it then actually helping me out and fixing their obvious mistake. This was of course the continuance of their efforts to dodge any and all liability or professional accountability in any and all ways. If this office manager is someone to go off, it seems their priority is trying to avoid any professional accountability and liability.
An hour after they left 2 of my sinks were clogged with sediment. They claim this wasn't their fault at all and they did their best to fix it. They want me to hire a plumber to clear about debris they could have easily cleared out when they were doing the job. A reasonable attempt at airing out the pipes to assure that no sediment was left behind should never equate to two separate sinks in different rooms being clogged. Their main concern seems to be waiving liability in any and every way they can, and they have no standards as to what their ""best"" could possibly consist of it just says we'll try our best, with no effort being made to gauge just exactly what is the bare minimum standard is for best. I had 2 different plumbers look at it and tell me debris from the repair itself went into the pipe and clogged it, I have written report by one saying a much better job could have been done clearing sediment. This company gave me no deal for being wrong and wasting my time, I paid full price for this or of pocket. The most they did was patch up the hole the other contractor left on the spot they indicated. I never asked for anything unreasonable, simply clear the debris the repair left behind that's all. They claim the misdirection of the leak is a 1 in 10 occurrence, and the sediment in the pipes is 1 in 20, I'm no statistician but based on those odds both really should have occurred in the same instance. Unless of course their ""best"" is a variable that changes on the whims of however the tech you've been given feels with no minimum standards at all.
At this point I can't argue with them about professional integrity, they clearly do not care. The best I can do is file complaints with the CDCA and BBB and hope others who read this are fortunate enough to avoid this company.
