I had an upstairs leak from a tub/shower. It had been there for quite a while, but since it was a guest bath I didn't call a plumbing company til Oct. American Leak Detection came out and told me the leak was from the knobs and only needed to be caulked. In late Dec and again in Jan the
shower was used and the stain and peeling on the downstairs ceiling grew. Obviously, the caulking was not the problem. I called James at the company and they refused to stand behind their work because it was beyond their 2 month guarantee. I then called Rodgers Plumbing and in only 30 minutes he found a gasket on the shower knob stem that was old and faulty. He replaced it, tested the leak by turning on the faucet full force (something Amer Leak Detection didn't do) and the LEAK WAS GONE!
I called Amer Leak Detection again, told them their tech hadn't tested correctly and therefore didn't find the leak. They still refused to refund my $300! DO NOT USE THEM.

Most dishonest people ever. I asked and signed authorization for spa detection only and they charged me extra for pool and the then they lied about it. Stay away from these people at all cost. Very disappointed!

Hopefully, the last update. I just received a call from James that was verbally abusive, emotionally overwhelming, and loud. He stated it was unfair that I bashed them in a review and he will not do business with me again. That was a coincidence since I had not planned on doing business with them. It has been a learning experience but next time I would rather read the book. The End.

I would not recommend ALD -not knowledgable and charge inflated prices! My parents had a wet spot outside ( the ground was visibly wet) outside the wall of their master bath so we called a plumber and he referred us to American Leak Detection to find where the leak was coming from. We called them ( without calling around based on the referral) Big mistake. There was a separate issue of the hallway feeling warm to the touch - We told them about both issues. They detected the hot water leak - and we had them fix it by drilling into the garage floor to access that pipe. The water leak on the side of the house was still not resolved after a week - we called them back and they said that was another leak... Which is what we called them for in the first place - they never took the time to detect that leak and just fixed one of the problems even though we kept asking if the hot water leak was what was causing the wet ground. They came out 3 times and we still have a wet ground leak. We also had a backed up bathtub drain but they said someone else would have to be called for that and they would charge us another $600 to diagnose it. They technician that came out can ONLY detect water leaks and has no knowledge of drain lines. So he will have to keep referring to other people if the problem is outside of the only thing he does. He did not detect all the leaks -and has limited knowledge of plumbing. We decided to call Legacy plumbing after doing my research to fix the leak that never got taken care of! They are much more knowledgeable and charged about $1000 less than what ALD was quoting us to fix the 2nd leak.

Absolutely not. So we had called this company to come out and find where a leak was in our sprinkler system. They came out and charged a few hundred dollars. They marked the spot. So we called our sprinkler company to come fix the leak. Come to find out, there wasn't a leak there at all. He spent hours trying to find it and he said in 30 years it has never taken him so long. So that being said they were FAR from
Where the leak actually was. So then we were charged $1000s due to how long it took him to find it. My husband on various occasions have tried to contact this company to no avail. It is fine if you make a mistake. Everyone is human, but then to not rectify it? I'm completely disappointed and disheartened. I would love to hear from them so they can rectify the situation.

Hired them to do a leak detection on my pool. They did not perform the scope of work that I requested. I could not get them to come back to complete the work. They demanded 100% payment before they sent me the "report" which was worthless and inconclusive.

I am very happy with the customer service provided by ALD. They opened a tunnel under my house and they had to brake my concrete. The crew that close the whole and put the concrete back did a bad job. The color didn't match. We contacted Chance the technician and he promised my husband and I that he will take care of that in a nice and professional manner. Yesterday Cody O' Daniel came to fix the concrete. He did a excellent job, he match the color and my backyard look like nothing never happen. Thank you Chance and Cody for the great customer service and professionalism.

Bad experience. They misdiagnosed our problem. Totally missed the leak! This led to longer term issues like mold. Would not use them again.

The plumbers that come out and handle the jobs are pretty good but the lady that answered the phone to set up appointments is very rude. Denise. She has an attitude like she is so annoyed to deal with appointments or any questions. You know the type. She will expect you to know what is being done at your house when you are trying to communicate an appointment, so she doesn't have to look you up in the computer and if you aren't sure the correct terms then she gets annoyed. And last she is so rude to the plumbers when they call in. I was in the room when he called her about my payment, I had not received my claim check from the insurance and told him I didn't want to pay until I received it since they are the ones that got the work approved through the insurance. So the room was very quiet and I could here everything that was said. She says, "what do you mean she doesn't want to pay, no she has to pay it's her responsibility "!! Note that I wanted to pay right there $8000 but just wanted to pay the remaining $4300 with the check the insurance was supposed to have sent. So he explains and she refused to let me pay the first part. Only accepting the full amount. And going on and on about me having to pay right now. She really wouldn't even let him talk. So I said no I'm going to pay them with the check from insurance and that was it. So he was obviously a little embarrassed getting off the phone with her and leaves. I call my insurance and he says he has the check sitting on his desk because Denise never sent the final invoice. Wow! So I called the plumber and told him that and he said ok. Denise called my phone and left a rude email that I need to pay! I did not call her back. So the check came in and I next day shipped it to the business and that's the last time I will ever use this company . At an office level the customer service is horrible. No consideration for the homeowner and the stress they are already going through with insurance and extensive repairs. She could have shut her big mouth and just called the insurance as they had no problem calling them when additional funds were needed for addition repairs. You guys should really monitor her calls, her attitude isnt helping retain customers!

We had Horacio Gonzalez come and try to pin point a leak in our bathroom. He basically spent about 2 minutes looking at our bathroom and said he found the VERY obvious leak and looked no more ( even though there was more leaking but whatever) charged us a CRAZY fee and made condescending remarks to me several times. Would never use this company again and I feel we would 100% taken advantage of. He literally did NOTHING and I spend hundreds of dollars.
