For over three years, I have tried to locate the source of a water leak in my backyard. I used several leak detection companies including Bullseye Leak Detection and none of them were able to locate the source of the leak. I finally called ALD and they came out that week to do initial inspection. We fixed that leak but water was still leaking to street so I called for a follow-up inspection. They came this morning and repaired the problems. Voila, no more water draining to the street. After several thousand dollars of repairs and inspection, ALD fixed the water leak. Awesome job.

Original review excerpts:
I called American Leak Detection out of Petaluma on Friday to get help tracking down a water line leak. They were scheduled to arrive between 11am and 3 pm today (originally told between 11am and 2 pm).
The technician called at 3 pm to say he was an hour from my home. Two hours later, at 5 pm, he still had not arrived or contacted me. Making a customer wait 6 hours is rude and not good service.
Note: After seeing this review, American Leak called me and apologized. They gave me a $50 discount on the service and arrived on time the next day. They gave me a 2-hr window and called before they arrived.

Total frauds. My insurance company had this company check my house for a slab leak. The technician was polite, professional, and knowledgeable. I thanked him for his time and he went on his way.
A few days later, I noticed that my dishwasher was leaking and wobbling badly. The tech had told me that had taken it out and put it back to ensure there was no leakage underneath. Clearly he had made a mistake when re-installing it. It happens...I understand sometimes mistakes are made. He also forgot to turn our water back on (not a big deal, I turned it on myself, but another example of a missed step.)
I called the company and spoke to a woman (can't remember her name) who I communicated with for the next week. She was incredibly defiant and arrogant, telling me that no one would be coming back to re-install my dishwasher because the technician remembered putting it in exactly correct and that it's ""impossible"" to reinstall incorrectly. I called her three times explaining I have owned the dishwasher for five years and had never had a problem with it, and it is 100% their responsibility. I told them I'm not asking for a new dishwasher, and they could just send someone the next time they were in the area.
The woman frequently refused to let me speak to a manager and seemed intent on marginalizing me and getting me off the phone. I told her that I would get this fixed and they'd be paying for it anyway, via my insurance company, so please don't waste my time and make me jump through hoops or I would be on Yelp, the BBB, and everywhere imaginable to report what a horrible company this is. She was, predictably, dismissive.
Sure enough, a local appliance company came out and documented the problem, which is that the feet were not leveled, caused by the technician at ALD. I called them after to inform them they were wrong and that I'd let everyone know how unhelpful and outright terrible in not standing by their work. She was again dismissive and basically just couldn't wait to get me off the phone. My insurance company covered the costs, recognizing the obvious fault of the company they had contracted.
THEN A FEW HOURS LATER, SHE CALLED ME BACK AND TOLD ME THE TECHNICIAN DID NOT ACTUALLY REMOVE MY DISHWASHER! HE HAD MERELY CYCLED IT, IN THE NEW ALTERED VERSION OF THE STORY, AN OUTRIGHT, BALD FACED, INCREDIBLY TRANSPARENT LIE THAT CONTRADICTED HER OWN MULTIPLE ADMISSIONS. I laughed at her and told her it's time to deal with the consequences, complaints to every avenue possible. I sent my insurance company an absurd amount of documentation in photos, videos, and timelines. I'm crossing my fingers they will cancel their partnership.
Well, I'm off to create some new accounts on review sites and contact every consumer advocate group imaginable. :)
Edit: just saw the owners ""rebuttal."" Terrific red herrings and shirking responsibility...I can see your staff is well trained by you. Haggling over minor details like the date you came out as if thet changes anything. We try to save money and hand wash our dishes most of the time...so because it wasn't noticed immediately and I didn't realize your tech had been here earlier than a few days ago I'm a liar? It leaked on the very first run through after it had been reinstalled, and the fact the feet were not leveled correctly shows this was done by the only person who worked on it - your tech. He admitted to me he removed the dishwasher, and your company admitted that to, arguing that he put it back correctly, all up until the time you were proven wrong by another company. Did the feet unlevel themselves? No one else has done any work in my kitchen. Did I personally unlevel the feet to sabotage myself just to get attention? Perhaps you should watch the video and review the photos and read the report from my insurance company.
If he didn't remove the dishwasher as you (now) claim, then he certainly unleveled the feet, which caused the problem. What you fail to understand again and again is that, regardless of what exactly happened, or the exact date, or the exact process, your tech was sloppy and left my water off and left my dishwasher in an unusable condition and all I asked for was a very simple request that is an implied warranty for any service.
And when I declined to leave my number, it was after I called for one final chance for your apology before whistle blowing, after everything transpired. So stop acting like you tried to do anything proactive...you ducked away the entire time and didn't call me once. When you conveniently weren't there once again, I figured I had given enough chances to just say ""sorry for our mistake"". I like how knee jerk defensive you are about every negative review. What a shocker. Maybe you should try to improve your customer service instead of defending your misdeeds. It makes you look really, really foolish to constantly be on here telling about how one customer after another is lying.

My astronomical water bill alerted me to the fact that I had a severe problem. I called another leak detection service who did not return either of my phone calls but had great Yelp reviews. American Leak Detectors answer their phone and are very straightforward about what they'll do and how much it will cost. They wound up with some extra time after one job and I got a message that they could move my appointment up if it worked on my end. Such a relief to have this issue resolved! Kerry was efficient, thorough and located my problem. Thank you ALD!

American leak was very responsive and had my leak verified and fixed within two days of my first call.
The work itself took under two hours and the technician verified there was no additional issues to worry about.
If my water bill is less and I don't have to worry about property damage then the bill is worth peace of mind.
The next time my house takes a leak I know who to call!

My heroes! Our water main broke and we were home with a two week old baby with no water service. I called a plumber, but they couldn't do anything until we knew where the leak was. So I called American Leak Detection (around 5pm). American Leak Detection got someone out to our house the next morning and not only did he quickly find the leak, he was also able to the repair (and was significantly less expensive than the estimate the plumber had given me). Highly recommended!

American Leak Detection was came identified the leak, gave and estimate to FIX...reasonable, fast, courteous, very nice to people to work with...the BEST

American leak detection has phenomenal customer service (thank you, Paul! ). I had a gas leak and two little babies to worry about. They were completely booked up until next week, but found a way to try and squeeze me in because they were concerned about my family's safety. They not only called me, but called a local contractor I work with just to try and organize everything. It is very nice to know that behind a company name, there's a big heart. I highly recommend them to anyone! A+ company!

I had a leak somewhere on my property (not in the house) and I called a plumber out and he told me he could not diagnose leaks. He told me to call American Leak Detection. Wish I had known about them before, could've saved my self the $200 plumber fee! They responded promptly, were professional in their work, and from my perspective, quite affordable. Such a relief to have it fixed. Thank you ALD!

We had a leak in our main line to the house over the Christmas holidays. They were the only company that responded to our calls, and scheduled and identified the leak quickly. They also scheduled and did the repair. I was very pleased with the care and professionalism exhibited by Sean in excacating and making rhe repair. He treated the repair like it was his own property, which is hard to find nowadays. Price was as quoted, which was reasonable. If we have another leak, they will be the ones I call.
