If you hear this name, run away. They have the absolutely worst customer service and scheduling people I have ever encountered. They don't care about your project or your issues. They are rude, unresponsive and seem to enjoy it when they can cancel or inexplicably change your delivery or installation time.

Just awful. Don't know how they stay in business.

The only bright spot is that if you can fight your way past the terrible people who do the scheduling, they have some good guys who do the actual installation.

This company was contracted by Sears to deliver and install four new appliances. After coordinating a date and time, they never showed up plus sears provided proof they were ready and American Home services never showed to receive the appliances. I have yet to hear from the company after repeated attempts to contact them.

If you purchase products and this company is involved, STOP, RETHINK your decision. it will save you heartache and trouble in the future.......

This company was contracted by Lowes to install a hot water tank for me. There were so many items which I was surprised by:

They asked me if I had a bucket they could use as when they remove a pipe some water would come out. I did not and instead they used a jar a had. Later they asked me for towels and ended up having to use my paper towels to clean up some of the water. This is a company which deals regularly with hot water heaters which are full of water. They don't have this stuff?

They originally told me they would be coming between 1-5pm. They showed up at 530pm. I understand it's hard to keep a schedule but they couldn't tell me later in the day that they wouldn't be arriving within the 4 hour window?

I would not recommend this company. However if you buy something from Lowes, you may not have a choice.

Terrible customer service. AHS contracted by Sears to install my cooktop. Told me the allotted time for installation wasn't enough because they needed to cut my countertop to make it fit. Additionally they needed another $200. Called to reschedule, was given time slot 2 days later. Confirmed the installation time but they never showed up. Called the next business day to be accused of calling the wrong number because their computer had no evidence of speaking with me to reschedule. Called the number again and the same kid answered. Guess it wasn't the wrong number...No apology, so attempt to make it right, only a nasty attitude and a delivery option for 4 days later. Pathetic group. If this is who SEARS is contracting with, SEARS just lost my business.

I ordered a stove from Sears and it was to be delivered and installed by American Home Services on a Monday. I took off work and waited 6 and 1/2 hours, making 3 phones call throughout the day, being assured that they would be there. NO ONE SHOWED UP OR CALLED. I rescheduled for the following Saturday, requesting an early delivery if possible and just received a call that it should be delivered between 4-8 PM. I called asking for a supervisor to see if the time could be changed and the supervisor was very uncooperative and I asked for her supervisor and she couldn't tell me the name. NEVER NEVER NEVER use this company.

I purchased a hybrid water heater from Lowes, and they sub-contracted the installation to American Home Services. A hybrid water heater needs a condensation line run from the heat pump unit to a drain or sink.

Upon picking up the water heater from Lowes, the installer called while I was out, and told my wife that he needed some parts for that and Lowes prices is $160. Without that he said, the water heater could not be installed so she reluctantly agreed. What he actually brought was ~ $4 worth of PVC pipe and elbows, and spent 5 minutes running a condensation line.

The installer also laid the water heater on it's side while delivering it, which is not supposed to happen at all with hybrids as that can lead to issues with the compressor. When I pointed that out, his reply was just 'I do this all the time'.

When I contacted Lowes about that, they were shocked and said that was not their doing; AHS did that outside of their contract. Lowes did refund some of the AHS charge. but AHS ripped me off.

If you purchase a big ticket item, request that AHS is not the installation company.

I purchased a water heater from Lowes, and it's been a nightmare dealing with these morons:

-Did not show up the first day, so I had to take 2 days off work
-Did not properly install the water heater: it failed inspection so I had to schedule a reinstall
-Assuming they show up today for the reinstallation (it is currently 3:49, and their window is 12-4), I will need to have another inspection
-Their phone support is awful. I was transferred from VA to MD to VA to hung up on me

Run, do not walk, to another contractor. This company inspired me to make my first Yelp review, and I'm guessing I'm not alone. My advice is to buy a water heater from a company that does not subcontract their installation work. AHS are obviously bottom feeders that can bid so low on contracts because not doing any work correctly is inexpensive.

RUN AWAY! Do NOT use this company!!!! I bought a stove at Best Buy and this company was suppose to install it for me. This company is contracted with best buy and the install was paid for when the stove was paid for. First the company calls you the evening before the scheduled date (after 5pm) to tell you what time they will be at your house the following day. So if you are like most people and work and cannot take off at the drop of a hat you are stuck ether taking off the whole day or hoping you can be there in the time frame given. If you cannot be there then you are stuck waiting another week to again gamble with the time they will come to your house. The first time they called it was a time frame I could not do. I told the woman I would have to check to see if anyone could be there she said call back in the morning and let her know. When I could find no one I called back in the morning to cancel and spoke to a man who said he canceled and reschedule it for the following week on a day I knew I would be home. Two hours later the tech called me saying he was at my house, confused I explained to him I had canceled that morning with his office. Then less than an hour later I get another call this time from outstate with a different company name saying their tech was at my house now and no one was at home. Confused I told him it was canceled that morning and the tech had already called me almost an hour previously so how could he be at my house now? He told me he knew nothing about it being canceled, when I asked him to confirm my appointment for the following week he was rude and said he knew nothing about it. I hung up and call AHS and their answering message came on that they were closed for the day, this was at 1pm and the message said they closed sometime between 4-5pm! I called after 1pm and was told they had a new telephone system and didn't know how to change the message on the machine so it didn't say they were closed. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they had all left for the day.....

The woman I spoke to was VERY short and borderline rude to me on the phone. She gave quick snappy responces and seemed to have no clue what customer service is but I was on the schedule for the following week. So the evening before they were suppose to come for the gas stove install I spoke to them and was told it would be between 7pm-9pm. I have a small child at home so I explained this and asked for an earlier time and was given 5pm-7pm. At 5:22pm the day of the install I received a call from the Tech saying his truck broke down and he would not be able to do the install. I was very upset and asked if anyone else could come by. He said there was no one else and his office was closed. He asked me what he was suppose to do when his truck was broken down. I told him then he needed to have his office put me on the schedule for Saturday no matter what. His responce back was he would talk to them in the morning but there was nothing he could do since his truck was broken down.

This morning I call AHS and speak to the man I spoke to before and asked to speak to a supervisior. He said hold on and proceeded to hang up on me. I called back, sat on hold for 10 minutes to be back on the phone with the nasty/rude woman I spoke to the week before. I again asked for a supervisor and her responce was she was one (funny last week she wasn't one). I explained my situation and again no appology, nothing her responce was "" He was just in and told me about it, his truck wasn't broken down he was stuck on a large install"". I said to her ""so your guy lied to me"" her responce was ""He felt it was best to lie instead of telling you the truth and upseting you."" Me: ""The fact that he lied upsets me more!"" Her: ""Well I could have lied to you too and told you his truck broke down but I didn't"". (wow I cannot believe she actually said that) She seemed to be fine with him lying so I said: ""So you are ok with your tech lying"" Her: ""what would you like me to do? (annoyed laugh from her) fine you want me to right him up, I can do that."" She was beyond unconcerned with him lying and more annoyed that I was on the phone with her. I told her I was reaching a point I would let Best Buy know to take back the stove and she had ZERO responce. I asked to be put on the schedule for Saturday she said she had me down and proceeded to try and end the call. I told her I am busy Saturday morning so she needed to make it later. Again sounding annoyed she asked me what time I would be home at. When I told her she said that was fine, they would call me tomorrow.

No applogy, no trying to make anything right, no concern/empthay just a rude, unfriendly, unprofessional person and company to deal with. I have decided I will let Best Buy know about this and ether return the stove or they need to find another company to install it.

I purchased a dishwasher from Sears on a Saturday and selected the following Wednesday for delivery and installation. I was contacted by American Home Services the night before and was given a window of 5-9 PM. Not ideal but it is what it is.

I received a call at 7:55 PM from the individual performing the installation informing me that he was running late due to extreme weather and associated traffic (which was legitimate) and wouldn't be able to make it until 10:00 or 10:30. He asked if that would be OK or if I would like to reschedule. I told him that I had a 6-month old infant and would need to reschedule. He said to expect a call from the office the following day to reschedule which I repeated to him and he confirmed.

I did not receive a call the next two days so I reached out to Sears on Friday afternoon to reschedule. They were unable to reach AHS (they were closed) but would leave a message and email. The following Monday, still no word from AHS so I call Sears again. They try to reach AHS but they were closed. They left a message and emailed a request for a specific time on Wednesday which best fit my schedule. I should expect a call on Tuesday to confirm. This time I got the name and number for the installer (AHS) so I can contact them if I don't hear from them first.

Mid-day Tuesday, as you might have guessed, still no word from AHS so I call the number I'm given. I get a recording that their office is closed and normal business hours are 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM - it is 12:30 PM and they aren't answering their phones. So, I call Sears AGAIN (the third time) and describe the situation. The representative was somehow able to get in touch with Chad at AHS.

Chad tells her that I was the one that cancelled the reservation because the time was ""inconvenient for me."" Let's see, 10:30 PM on a weekday and 90 minutes after the window I'm given? Yes, that's inconvenient. He also said that it was my responsibility to call them to reschedule, which I hadn't done. Hmmm, MY responsibility? Your installer told me the office would call and did not provide me with a contact number to reach them. That and I DID contact Sears in an attempt to reschedule. Despite all this, he would ""squeeze me in"" to their schedule even though, it was implied, I didn't contact them through the appropriate channels.

So I try to call Chad to discuss his incorrect understanding of the facts - which I realize may have been due to us receiving different accounts from the installer. Guess what? Still the recording that says they are closed. The remedy? I call Sears for a FOURTH time to request a different installer. Sure, it will take up to a week to get my new appliance since I am back at the end of the line, but better that than AHS getting my money.

If you get a call from these people for installation of an appliance you purchase, contact the merchant and request a change. Between my experience and the two earlier yelp reviews should be enough to convince you to stay far away from them.

Angel arrived during the designated time and worked quickly to remove and install a new Sears water softener. He and his assistant were neat polite and knowledgeable about the product. While I will admit that I had a lot of reservations about American Home Services, based on the other two reviews, the company and especially Angel exceed all of my expectations. Thank you for providing me with a drama free experience!!
