Company Overview

At Alternative Services, we are dedicated to Maintenance Handyman services, addressing both Residential and Commercial needs. We offer Carpentry, pipe work, and Electrical. In addition, we handle outside repairs, such as deck restoration, fence repair, screen doors, patio door repairs, siding installation, pothole repairs, accessible signage, and markers, and more. I started my journey in 1983. Over the past 30 years, I have gained expertise in woodworking, drywall, pipe work, electrical, tile installation, acoustical ceilings, decks, and fences, along with door installation, and more.

In the last decade, I served as a project manager for a significant company, overseeing all administrative tasks. In this role, I acquired insight into the business side of a company.

Combining my experience in both the hands-on side and the management side, I felt it was time to start my own business and bring back high standards, honesty, reliability, and affordability to the market.

I started working in construction on weekends, working on roofs with my family. Once I completed high school, I joined a commercial contractor as a helper, moving drywall.

A few years later, I came across a job listing in the paper for carpentry positions, experience not required. While I didn’t mind carrying drywall, I was eager to gain further experience in the building industry. I responded and landed the job. At Elk Head Construction, I mastered wall framing, drywall installation, taping and finishing drywall, door installation, acoustical ceilings, and all aspects of carpentry.

A few years down the line, I chose to gain experience in something new, so I worked with an individual contractor for tile installation of ceramic and vinyl floor and wall tile. Additionally, we worked on windows and vinyl siding on residential properties.
