Company Overview

The founder began the career in the plumbing industry in Santa Barbara, CA, where he underwent an training in the beginning seventies. With relatives in the area, Allen chose to take the move to relocate his growing family to the area. This proved to be difficult for him to work with various businesses as Allen possessed a elevated expectation and experience in what a plumbing company must operate for the patrons. No one operated a business in the same way as the company Allen worked for in California. With a will to succeed and a significant amount of dedication, Allen built a company that stands on trustworthiness and integrity, prioritizing the interests of our customers above all. Our company quickly turned into a family business. The owner's wife took care of the accounts and took the calls day and night. With an growing enterprise, the household and storage area grew rapidly too small to accommodate a business. At this point that Allen chose to move the business to its location on 54th Ave N in St. Petersburg, FL, preparing the property and constructing the majority of the present structure.

We had Allen's come out for an 2nd opinion estimate. We were quoted about $2000 for replacing pipes with roots and jetting the entire house by another company. When Allen's came out, he listened to the issues, checked the drain outside, and looked at the affected sink and shower. He felt that the solutions the prior company suggested were not necessary. He did not try to sell us anything and we were very happy that he felt that our plumbing was not in dire straits. He suggested how to clean the pipes ourselves as general maintenance. For a company to come out and not try to sell SOMETHING says a lot in this day and age. In the meantime, we will be emailed an estimate for the optional work and more extensive diagnosing, if necessary.

Had a middle of the night emergency and called. They sent a technician who was capable and worked hard and fixed the broken pipe. They came back a day later to fix related problems and did not charge a second call fee. They fixed that quickly and only charged for the short time it took. Fair, talented and available that's as good as I could wish. Would use them again.

SCAM ALERT!!!!!!This company overcharges!!!. Did not informed me there would be overtime charges for work done at 4:00 pm. Charged me 1.5 hours labor for 30 minutes of work. Charged for """"Traveling Time, gas fees, diagnosing fees and stocking fees""""; did not provide an itemized bill until I begged for one and for replacing a flange in a toilet the total bill was $408.26. WATCHOUT!!!!

Given the previous reviews I wouldn't have used them, but I had used them before on an emergency at night and they were fine then. They were good again today and the time they charged was accurate and they left the area clean and protected the hardwood floor.

We are writing to highly recommend: Allen's Plumbing, Inc. 4219 54th Ave N, St Petersburg, FL as a full service utility company! We are a non-profit company housing a mobile home park. It has been Patio Village Inc. pleasure to be able to work with and alongside Allen's Plumbing in a 73 unit mobile home park with the installation of new individual water meters on each lot. Allen's Plumbing was instrumental throughout every phase. They provided accurate estimates, onsite job explanations, and assisted with all permits required by Pinellas Co. to final completion. Thanks to their dedication to the job, working every day and all day, Allen's Plumbing was able to complete this job in only one weeks' time, where other bids had estimated 2-3 weeks for this large project. Allen's Plumbing completed the water meter installation project on time and on budget. Allen's Plumbing was professional, organized and a pleasure to work with. Allen's Plumbing Supervisor Jamin G. was absolutely wonderful to our members answering questions and offering solutions to their plumbing issues. Patio Village Board Members were very pleased with how well Jamin G.and his crew worked with us. I am confident that Allen's Plumbing will continue to be an excellent choice of a plumbing contractor. Inspector Y. you lucked out because I refused to pay and good people of Allens Plumbing put a lien on my home for $400!! It's amazing that the State of Florida allows a shyster contractor to file a lien on a consumer without showing one shread of evidence that the job was ever done. While I was in the courthouse paying to get my house back, I checked Public Records and found 22 other people Allens Plumbing put liens on in the previous 5 years. I was told originally there was no Allen and then a month later I'm getting a certified letter from him. These a'holes went as far as challenging my review making up some story about work they never did and how confused I was. They even lied that they came on a Saturday to justify the inflated labor costs. I have pictures of what they didn't do in a small half bathroom where the pipe they were so worried about tieing into was in open view the entire 2.5 hours that the crack head tech sat on the floor. Why he didn't look at that as soon as he got there like any honest person would is beyond me. Please people don't use these ripoff artists disguised as plumbers.

I recently used Allens Plumbing for a kitchen renovation which included a tankless water heater and water softener. I also switched my electric appliances to gas. Their office was very professional always calling to notify me when they were in route. Our invoice was agreed upon in advance and there were no hidden surprises. Jamin explained everything in detail and I found him very courteous. He takes great pride in his work and it shows. I would highly recommend Allens Plumbing!

Beware! This company tried to """" take me for a ride"""". The work they estimated as costing 5k (possibly more) was completed by another licensed and reputable plumbing company yesterday. Cost $535!

Needed 30 gallon water heater maintenance b/c I had it turned off for a few months. Basically, to turn the right switches on and make sure it'll be in good working condition, and stays that way. I know jack about water heater. I was afraid that I might unknowingly do something wrong and end up with a flood in my home. Total bill was $243.50 $56 - """"service call"""" $156 - 90 minutes of labor or $104/hr $31.50 - heating element which I don't know if it needs to be replaced. It was just replaced. I don't know if the prices are reasonable or not so I list them hear. Maybe someone can tell me. Plumber showed up on time.

I'd leave no stars if I could. Worst customer service from the owner in my life. Called them to come out, after recommendations from my HOA. Should have checked the reviews first, I certainly would have """"NOT"""" called Allen's Plumbing. My story begins with a clogged up toilet, which was occasionally working and then sometimes it would not. On a call to Allen's plumbing I was told that a technician would go out and investigate and that they would call me with the results. I was further told if they found nothing that they would check with the HOA to see if others in building were having problems as well. I said I understand the process and would be waiting to hear from them. About two weeks later a get a bill for $146.00 for snaking the toilet, flushing it several times, and reportedly there was nothing found. I was not there when all of this was done, the tenant told me that the tech stayed about 20 minutes and they did not remove the toilet to check for obstructions as well. I would have expected that for almost $150.00 the toilet would have been removed, then snaked the line etc. I went by to talk to the owner (Allen) about this and that I would be willing to pay a service charge but paying for the snaking of the toilet I would not. I feel the snaking was not effective, because a few days after they performed this service the toilet stopped up again. Which at this time, I got in my car and drove from Tennessee to St Petersburg to fix this issue. Went to Home Depo, rented a snake and got a new wax seal. Removed the toilet, inspected the toilet, snaked the line, put everything back and have not had a problem since. So, I just wanted an answer and to discuss this bill with Allen. Well Mr Allen totally ignored me by staying outside blowing his parking lot off and chatting with his employees while I waited. He knew I was there and even told me he was coming inside. Well after waiting for 20 minutes total, I left. I guess that was his plan to ignore me and it worked. It worked so well, thanks. This was and has been the worst customer service from a company owner I have ever had. I have spent over 20 years in the military, having dealt with hundreds of companies and business owners and all of these dealings have not been great, but people are always respectful and willing to listen, talk, and work to resolve a customer issue. I am going to make it point to inform my HOA, the BBB, and all of social media about this company and their business practices and the way I was disrespected. If he was not going to cut anything off the bill, just be a man and come and talk to me about it. Such a cowardly act! """"NOT RECOMMENDED""""
