Alison Service Company was founded in 1980 as an electrical contractor focusing on wiring retail stores and homes. In 1991, we were contacted by a national retail maintenance company to offer electrical services to retailers throughout Southern California.

As we progressed, we started offering additional maintenance and repair services beyond electrical work. While gaining experience and familiarizing ourselves with our clients, our list of trades expanded. The request to provide more services led us to obtain a general contractor's and plumbing license in addition to our electrical contracting license.

Long before I arrived, my father started his own electrical contracting business in Covina. When we were old enough to hold a hammer, he took me, my older sister, and younger brother to his job sites. I fondly recall gathering scraps of wiring and conduit, crafting ""art"" with my siblings to pass the time while our father was busy.

We grew up with him leaving family functions to tend to emergencies, constant phone calls and meetings, and of course late work nights. Though he was often busy, he actively participated in our lives, coaching our sports teams, attending every event, and being there when we needed him most.

Upon graduating high school, my father was providing services to residents and businesses in San Diego. I relocated to San Diego and started working as my father's assistant. My responsibilities included assembling ceiling fans, installing outlets, wiring recessed lighting, and taking care of his scheduling and invoicing. Today, my siblings and I run the business and are thrilled to do so.
