Alan Burkhalter Plumbing
Company Overview
This family business is grounded in a reliable foundation of dependability. You can't find better service. If you have a leaking pipe, a blocked drain, need a new hot water heater, or a toilet reset, call Alan, Jennifer, their three sons—Beau, Luke, and Jake—and brother Chris.
It’s often said, ""children will mirror your actions; so embody the qualities you wish to see in them."" Master Plumber Alan Burkhalter of Alan's Plumbing has exemplified this as the father of three sons. Serving the Fort Bend community for over nineteen years (and still going), Alan's sons Beau, Luke, and Jake have absorbed the values of hard work—the true essence of blood, sweat, and tears. Growing up in the business, they observed, learned, and prepared to carry on the legacy their father established.
Beau and Luke have earned their Journeyman's License and run their own truck. Jake jumped right in and got his Apprentice Plumber's License. When asked what they learned from their father, their replies are what any father would want to hear. Beau says, ""Everything I know I learned from my dad, and he’s the best father and teacher without a doubt.""

We've used Alan's Plumbing for a few years on various projects - water heaters, whole house water filters, faucets, drain clogs, etc. They've always been great + reasonably priced. Only issue I've encountered is availability - sometimes they have a backlog of a week or more.

Things go wrong. Alan has been helping my family for 10 years as that happens.
Fair prices.
Courteous plumbers, always. If they have come back to fix something, they don't haggle over coming back on them.
They show respect to me and my home.

Out rageous quote I received to install an electric water heater in the garage. Not gas water hearter an electric.
The person on the phone said $1800.00. They would pick up a Rheem and install with 2 persons and other new pieces needed.
I have lived in my home since 1995 and had 3 other water heaters installed. Never ever has someone charged me $1400.00 for installation. Wow. The Rheem that is ideal to my home can be purchased at Home Depot or Lowes for $350.00 with tax. The person on the phone said the Rheems they install are not from Home Depot. She mentioned a drain pan which there is none or necessary for my home. Use to be a good company, not any more.

Good Afternoon,
I must share with you my dismay concerning the conversation I just had with the woman who answers your phone. Just about a year ago I contacted your company to install new sink and bathtub faucets in two upstairs bathrooms. Today, while cleaning out the cabinet under one of the sinks I discovered a small leak. As I attempted to explain to the woman who answers your phone, we seldom used the sink over the course of the past 11 months. Recently, while having our master bedroom remodeled we moved upstairs and began to use that sink on a daily basis. She very quickly mentioned that there would be a charge for the repair and when I reiterated that we had not used the sink regularly she said that we should have checked it before now. She mentioned that you give only a 30 day warranty. As the conversation continued I felt that she was being overly aggressive. She talked over me several times and I found that to be quite offensive. I told her never mind that I would find someone else to do the repair and would be sure to give you a 'great' review on Yelp. After we hung up, I contacted another plumbing company and scheduled them to do the repair.
A few minutes later she called me back to say that she would have Chris come out to look at the problem but that she didn't appreciate that I threatened her with a bad online review. I assured her that it was not a threat-it was a fact. I also told her that I had engaged another company to do the repair. At that point she added insult to injury by telling me to be sure to tell the truth in the online review.
The amount of money that we spent with your company, $1840.00, was significant to our budget. It would seem that it was most likely insignificant to your business. Rarely have we ever had to contact a business to request they return to address a repair on their work. Therefore, I found it very disconcerting that this woman would speak in such an aggressive manner to a customer. At this point, my complaint is basically that when I contacted your company to request a minor repair on a job that was done nearly a year ago and not discovered until today, I was spoken to in a rude and demeaning manner. We have lived in Fort Bend for over 30 years. Please be assured that whenever someone asks for a plumbing referral I will be sure to mention your company and the less than courteous way I was treated. Beth S.

Alan's plumbing is great, they are reasonably priced and do a good job in a timely manner. The plumbers who come and do the work themselves are great I.e Beau and Trevor etc. However, watch out when you call as the chick who answers the phone I.e Jennifer is the rudest and most miserable person you will have the displeasure to speak to on the phone; she either needs to get some HRT or increase her Prozac. They are otherwise a great outfit.

I have used Alan Plumbing twice now and have been very satisfied. Once they fixed a water heater issue and then another time they repaired a leak in my toilet and changed a shower head for me. The workers that came to my house were very courteous and didn't try to sell me on anything extra (that was so nice), they just came, solved my plumbing problem and then fixed it. I will definitely continue to use them.

This past week my wife walked into her clothes closet and found the carpet soaked. Naturally, it is the husband's fault and my responsibility to fix it. It was late in the evening ,but I went outside with my cell flashlight and after I started sinking in the ground I went back in the house and confidently told my wife I will fix it in the morning. The next day I went outside with my sophisticated array of tools. I started digging thinking it was a broken pipe in my sprinkler system. When i realized i was dealing with the main line coming into the house I immediately took my shovel back to the garage and coated with mud, I decided to call Alan's plumbing. I was told that someone would be at my house between 1 and 3 and I would receive a phone call when someone would be dispatched to my home. Beau got to my house right around 3. I shared with him my very professional diagnosis (sarcasm) and he just politely said yes sir and smiled. I knew enough to get out of his way and head inside. This young man worked in 100 plus heat for 4 hours, completely cleaned everything and overall acted on behalf of the company he so proudly represents in the most professional manner possible. My experience was 6 star. Being a local owner of a family owned and operated business as well I can appreciate more than most how important your employees are as they are the face of your company. Great job Beau and thank you Alan's plumbing. Barry S.

Great service, quick response, very courteous, honest and reasonably priced. Visit to estimate was on time, parts ordered and received as promised. Installation was neat, clean and professional. Excellent people to work with.

Chris and Jaime came by to fix a tub/shower knob that was not turning shut. They fixed it, by changing a part and cleaning up the hard water build up. They also cleared the drain that was clogged for extra $, but was worth it (tried Drano for 2 days before they came by and hadn't work for this clog!). Very nice and friendly folks who knew what they were doing. Also, looked at another problem and suggested to call another time as they didn't have the parts and had another appointment today. It's difficult to come by plumbers you can trust and these are good folks!

Alan Burkhalter spend two hours in our home two weeks ago following up on plumbing concerns in our home inspection report. In the course of the appointment I pointed out to Allan that the rain shower head in my master bathroom was dripping. He said that Delta products have a life time warranty and that I should call and request a new cartridge. When I spoke to a Delta representative he recommended changing out the "o" rings and sent me a set. I assumed (NEVER assume) that since the Delta information was included in the $245.00 invoice for the two hour visit that I would call back when the part arrived and Allan's Plumbing would come out and replace the "o" rings as part of the previous visit. WRONG! I was charged $165.00 for a service call. Shame on me for not asking more questions but after doing business with Allan's Plumbing since 2007, I didn't think I had to. Don't you make I same mistake I did. The team has always done good work for us but this time I think the charge was excessive.
