Adam was a lifesaver. It gets no better than this company. Adam got to the core of a leak other plumbers couldn't find. He also did a wonderful job replacing an old rusty broken boiler in my home. His work was OUTSTANDING! He was punctual, reasonably priced and got the work done quickly. He explained in detail what the issues were and how they were going to be corrected. He also sent before and after pictures. I highly recommend Ajax Plumbing & Heating. This man takes pride in his work which is extremely important. I can't say enough good things about him. This is a followup to my review of gas boiler installed by AJAX earlier this year. On Thanksgiving day my dinner guests notice the house was getting colder. I checked the boiler and it intermittently was igniting but failing to turn on the burners. Since the AJAX boiler installation included a 3 year parts and labor contract I contacted Adam and left a voicemail message. He returned my call within an hour and suggested a few actions but to no success. Adam made an appointment to visit me the next morning. He called me at 630am stating he was on his way to supply store he found open on the day after Thanksgiving. By 730am Adam arrived and inspected the boiler. He determined the burner startup problem was caused by low gas pressure from utility company. I contacted Utility company and several hours later they dispatched a tech and confirmed gas pressure into house was too low. After increasing pressure the boiler kicked on and all was well. Several months earlier Adam and his assistant also performed a tune-up which was covered in the 3 year contract. Each visit Adam lived up to his word of providing professional, timely and quality service.

Adam Epstein and his Company are the best. My boiler was on its last legs and Ajax came highly recommended. He was courteous and professional. He came to install the boiler and is very knowledgeable from choosing the right boiler to installing it with accuracy and precision. Drop clothes were put down and his men were very polite and assisted in the installation and the cleanup. I would highly recommend Adam and his company.

Ajax Plumbing recently completed an oil to gas conversion in our house as well as replacing all of the existing heating pipes. I can't recommend Adam and his company enough to family and friends. Everyone knows that you take the risk of recommending contractors to the family but Ajax completed work at My In-Laws and they were impressed with his work as well. They handled all aspects of the conversion and Adam even came to our home to meet the inspectors while we were away on vacation. They are trustworthy and extremely reliable. Do yourself a favor and give them a call for any plumbing and heating work you're planning.

Adam did our conversion from oil to gas in the dead of winter. Our oil burner gave out end of December and we needed new everything plus running new gas lines from the front of the basement and have both DOB and ConEd sign off. After a few rounds of quotes and some ridiculous claims from larger and equally well rated plumbing companies from Angie's list, we decided to go with Adam. His price and timeline were very reasonable and he seem very familiar with the permitting and inspection process. Adam was able to make the switch quickly and efficiently with no mess; he tested my existing lines and fixed a few other things in our house. On the day of the switch, we were only without heat for 8 hours, in the middle of Jan. (Some of the other contractors told us to expect to be without heat for 2 months!) In the spring, ConEd decided to installed a new gas line for us and Adam was our guy to obtain permit, bring the line into the house, and retire the old line. Now we have a brand new line and system and are very happy we found Adam.

Adam made the oil to gas conversion in my house painless. I was told by others that the process would be a nightmare and that it would go thousands over the contract price. Well I don't know if it was a scare tactic or they just hired some bad people but I can tell you that didn't happen with Ajax plumbing. Everything was detailed in the contract and completed as stated and agreed upon . Adam is a master plumber and took care of all of the filing requirements, permits with NYC and everything with the utility company. Total process took about 90 days from signing of the contract (there was no gas in the house) to removal of old equipment and oil tank. If you're considering this process my advice is to begin (contract signed)at least 90 days before you anticipate cold weather to kick in if you have no gas in the house at all. At the very least can't hurt to get a quote from Ajax. You'll see when you start asking questions about the process he knows the exact process and requirements to get it done. Oh and did I mention he's not only the salesman he's the one actually licensed and doing the work. When was the last time you experienced that? Me almost never. Thanks Adam and don't forget his helper Kevin. I'm pretty sure it's not a one man job all the time.

My family converted from oil to gas heating. After much research we decided to contact Adam. From the first call to the very end of the conversion, Adam has been honest and incredibly empathetic; He would reply promptly to any questions and finished the job in less than a week! Despite all the old equipment that needed moving, we had hot water in a day. His cost was by far the most fair from all the heating companies I contacted in Queens and NYC.
