In the fall of 2018, right when the weather changed from cool to cold my old boiler cracked, leaked, and I shut her down for good. I called Ajax and others for an estimate, and he wasn't the cheapest but I like knowledgeable people. He did the job in a day, to include delivery of new (very heavy) boiler, removing (even heavier) old boiler and cleaned up afterwards. Turned on the switch and voila, heat! So, when my hot water tank started to leak in 2019 almost the same day as my boiler in 2018, I called Ajax once again to give me an estimate for the job. Delivery of a new one, removal of the old tank, and he was done in four hours. Can I say, ""voila, hot water""? I was more worried about my new stairway just build carrying these monsters from the basement. Like they rehearsed before coming to my house, not a scratch. That alone was worth the extra money. We called because one of our radiators was not generating any heat. They came first thing the following morning and promptly fixed our issue at a reasonable price. In addition since we were new homeowners, Adam took the time to show us how the system works. We really appreciated the extra time he took to help us.

Ok first off they called back quickly and set an appointment for 8am... he showed up 20min late but he did call.. that's the only reason for one star...
Anyhoo I called ajax cause of the good reviews...and i needed a boiler cleaning and tune.. first thing he asks for is a roll of paper towels..ok np.. then he takes a few towels (dry) and pushes all the dust and dirt on the floor...usally boiler cleanup would involve a vacuum.which he didnt have....next he pulls the burner tubes wipe off the dust with another paper that I supplied.. put them back in adjusted the temp and handed me a bill.. for $175
Truth is I was astonished... every other time I've had this done they take the top off the boiler and brush the elements inside.. clean stack to the chiming check bottom of chimney...all being brush and vacuumed...then check the water relief valves etc.... this guy was there for 20mins from start to finish..and did none of that...and when I questioned him about the stuff he was supposed to do he said he never does that...even his helper was grinning ...so let's summarize
1 he used my paper towels
2 no spray of any kind
3 pushed all the dirt and dust on the floor
4 NO VACUUM
5 he dusted the burner tubes
6 no brushing and cleaning the elements
7 no cleaning of the stack...
8 and left all the dirt and dust on the floor
9 only cash or check for this service
10 I GOT SCREWED

Last winter, my boiler wasn't be working properly and I called him and he really really quickly answered to my phone call. He checked out the boiler for less than 10 minutes and told me he was not able to fix it because it was old and modified..... and recommended me to install new boiler.... and finally he charged me $175 for nothing.

That night, I called another boiler guy in town, he checked it out and finally made it running again and he charged me $125.
