I had 2 new Trane units installed (for both zones) and am very satisfied with the experience. I had a couple of very minor issues with the install of one of the units, and the owner (Joe) came by a week later to fix it. The pricing was very fair and the company was professional. At no time did I feel like Joe tried to upsell me or offer me things I didn't need. Highly recommend!
Fantastic Team & Service. We moved into a bank owned home that had been neglected for quite some time. The heating/air system had been completely removed along with with every other fixture - leaving us with a number of large projects. AirPlus was amazing to work with. They were able to get the HVAC up and running in no time at all. Their pricing was competitive, installation handled by a knowledgable team and their follow-up service friendly. We highly recommend this company.
Koray E.in the past I enjoyed their services, sadly ownership changed and new owner totally do not deliver or behind his work, their interest is mainly break your system and sell you new parts and finally new system. I had a very bad experience at my offices they came to inspect my A/C system for annual service, they told me they need to clean a pipe, next day my system stopped working, and next day they came again suggested me to change startup capacitor and also suggest changing run capacitor otherwise my fan motor will be dead, which I agreed after they left my fan motor stopped working and they came and said we need to change fan motor and when I raised question it happened after your work they felt bad and offer me 50% reduction of their regular price, of course I refused when I hired a new company they fixed with their regular price still cheaper than their 50% reduction, now I will take them to Small Business Court please be careful while using this company if possible find another company
Ryan P.In August of 2006 we purchased an air conditioning unit from Mr Kim at AirPlus. As soon as the system was installed we started experiencing major problems with it. The system has CONSTANTLY broken down since being installed. At first when the company realized what a horrible lemon of a system they had installed they offered a 10 year warranty where they said they would fix the system every time it broke down including parts and labor for free...Now reading other reviews I realize i'm not the only one who has been lied to about this bogus warranty. As others have stated, every single time the unit breaks down, which is now multiple times a week, I call to have someone come out, and they refuse to acknowledge the warranty and therefore refuse to order the parts to fix the unit. The company has now been taken over by a new owner, and BEWARE to everyone who is buying from this company or currently in a service contract with this company, the new owner says he will NOT honor any warranties that are pre existing with your service contract. I have saved all of my work orders where they stated what was repeatedly wrong with the system, and which parts needed to be ordered. There were even many times when I was so desperate for air conditioning that I would pay the ridiculous $385 dollars the company was asking for. Keep in mind, I originally payed almost $10,000 dollars for the system. Every time I call the company now the owner refuses to come to the phone, and refuses to call me back. He just relays messages through ""Martha"". As I type this I am waiting for a call from someone with the company because the air conditioner is once again broken down causing it to be almost 90 degrees inside the house. Martha informed me, since the owner STILL refuses to call, that they will not be ordering the parts, or sending someone out to service the unit until I accept that they will not honor my existing contract with them in any way shape or form. I have even begrudgingly offered to pay the $99 service fee, and yet still, they will not return my phone calls or send someone out to fix the unit. I DO NOT recommend this deceitful, manipulative, and disrespectful company in ANY way to anyone.
This Spring I decided to replace my complete 28 year old Trane HVAC system. After doing extensive research and getting proposals from six different companies, I decided to go with Air Plus. The new owner, Joe Allen (he replaced Mr. Kim), gave me a great deal and I really liked Joe's honesty & sincerity when dealing with him. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. Joe's crew was excellent. They arrived on time, were extremely professional, and did excellent work which entailed installing a new furnace, air conditioning unit and running new lines. They also installed nice access panels in my basement ceiling versus leaving me responsible for drywall work to finish up like most of the other contractors proposed. When done, the crew cleaned up everything and left my place spotless - even my meticulous wife was highly impressed! It's been almost two months now and my new Trane system is quiet and keeping us nice and cool. You will not go wrong in Joe and the folks at Air Plus. Thanks Joe!
Angela S.Excellent company! The owner, Mr. Kim, is not only a true professional, he is a very nice and caring person. To give you some background, before I purchased my home, I knew it needed a new HVAC system. I needed a quote for a new system and I wanted the owner to have it replaced before I purchased it. My friend referred me to Mr. Kim and he came out to the house in April 2014. He was extremely nice and explained things well. I told him it would be up to the current home owner who would get the job but I wanted to submit his quote and hopefully the owner would pick him. Long story short, the owner did not go with Mr. Kim and hired an awful contractor. Within the first 6 months the new system was having major issues and was also not up to Fairfax county code. By November, I was running on emergency heat and my electric bills were very high. I wasn't expecting such a large expense seeing that the previous owner had the unit replaced not even a year ago so it had me really stressed out.
I knew I had to call Mr. Kim and get him to come back to the house to get a quote and explain the situation. I contacted him in February and it was such a nice surprise that he remembered me and the house! He quickly identified all the issues with the system the previous owner had installed and even saw that I needed some duct work. I would like to add Mr. Kim is not pushy with sales and he even encouraged me to get other quotes. He gave me an excellent quote for a Trane system and once I signed his proposal, he came back to the house a few days later to develop a design for the ducts and system. I was impressed with how detailed Mr. Kim was and you could tell he truly cared about me and the system. The day of the installation (Feb 12), Mr. Kim's crew showed up right at 8:30 like they said they would. Not only that, Mr. Kim came to check in around 9 am with me and his crew. The installers did a great job and were very professional and nice. I would like to mention his crew worked very efficiently. They had staff outside for the heat pump and then additional staff for the air handler. Also, after the install was complete, later on that afternoon, Martha (who worked in the office) called and schedule to have Mr. Kim personally come out and check on the system and to see if I had any questions. In today's day and age, it is unheard of to get such amazing customer service. Mr. Kim came out on February 18 and again, was right on time. He explained components of the new system and answered the questions I had. He was so appreciative of the business and I am so grateful to have found a great company that helped me.
Mr. Kim, I cannot thank you and your staff enough!! My house has been cold and uncomfortable for months, and now it's warm and comfortable. I am truly thankful for you and your company. Thank you for caring about your clients and their needs. I wish there were more people like you. :) I already referred you to one neighbor and will keep on referring you and the company!
Tiffany Y.I scheduled an appointment to have a checkup for my air conditioning system. The employee who showed up did so on time and was nice. He, however, was unfamiliar with my particular brand of AC system. I appreciate that he noticed that my system had no filter (! my husband took it out and never replaced it...), but he recommended the wrong size. The price for the service was not too high.
When I first called Air Plus in Feb 2014 and Mr. Kim came out to the house we felt very comfortable. I lived in Korea for 7 years and my wife is Korean so we like dealing with Korean Owned Businesses. Mr. Kim knew how to work us though, he saw we had a Cross on the wall so started talking about church and being a Christian. We bought it and he actually gave us what we thought was a decent deal on the new heat pump system. But after we had decided to buy and he knew he had our money and this people came to do the work, Mr. Kim's total attitude changed. I want to make it clear that the workers from his company were all very professional and do a great job. But Mr. Kim has an attitude problem and thinks he is superior to others and after we bought the heat pump he treated us like crap and was very unprofessional. We would ask a question and he either would not answer or ignore us. He made promises that he made every effort to go back on. Every time we asked a question he answered very abrupt and with an attitude. My wife and I did not understand, had we done something? Again I lived in Korea and have many Korean friends and this is not the usual attitude of a Korean man. But we had our new heat pump. So I let it go. Then about a month ago I received a questionnaire from TRANE with questions about Air Plus, so I filled it out and was very truthful and frank in my rating and comments. I received a phone call from the receptionist at Air Plus apologizing and asking what they could do for me. And asked which technician had been rude, but I told her the technicians were all very professional but that it had been the owner, Mr. Kim who had been rude. She asked if she could have Mr. Kim come to my house and check my system and to apologize to my wife and I. I said that would be fine. I made an appointment for Friday 17 Oct, then on Wed 15 Oct the receptionist called me back and said Mr. Kim said he would not come to out to my house to apologize. That he did not think he had done anything wrong and had nothing to say to us. I told her I still needed someone to come out to look at my heat pump. I also told her I did not appreciate that Mr. Kim would blow us off and that this was a perfect example of his arrogance.
As a whole Air Plus workers are great from the service people to the receptionist but Mr. Kim is like a used car salesman! Once he makes the sale then he moves on and you mean nothing to him. I suggest everyone be very careful when dealing with him and maybe even refuse to deal with him and ask to have a different salesman come out. I have never been treated with as much of a lack of respect as Mr. Kim treated us! Air Plus and TRANE is 5 stars but Mr Kim is 0 stars!
Mr Kim is wonderful. It was Saturday afternoon in July when we called Air Plus because our A/C wouldn't come on. With weekend house guests, no A/C was not an option. Mr Kim was at our home in less than 20 minutes, diagnosed the issue, and had the A/C running in short order. He didn't charge us as we are long time customers. Mr Kim is friendly, warm, and a really nice guy. Thank you!
I recently bought a house in the Springfield area that was in need of repair. Needed a new heat pump and furnace, I got 4 bids, Mr Kim was by far the lowest. The techs who came out to do the install were very nice. The units they install are much better quality than what the other contractors who came out were offering. I was getting higher estimate for brands like Goodman, Nordyne, and other low end brands.
I will gladly recommend Mr. Kim's company to friends and family!
