Richard, the owner of Affordable Plumbing Solutions came to my home to diagnose and repair a leak from the upstairs bathroom tub plumbing. He installed a new Tub Drain Release and gasket. He did not test to see if it worked. After he left, I tried the handle on the tub drain release and it wouldn't budge. I paid $150 to Richard for nothing (he wrote $200 on the invoice, but said he would charge $150 because I was a new customer). I phoned him to let him know I could not use the bathtub and asked him to come out -- at no additional charge -- and fix the problem. He then told me there would be additional charges even though the mistake was his in not testing his work. He used an undersized chrome drain release and an over-sized gasket. I went to Conleff Plumbing in Santa Clara, bought the new parts that fit properly for about $15, and installed them myself (I'm a 76-year old woman, so I only tackle ""uncomplicated"" problems -- this proved to be quite easy). I am very disappointed in Richard and his business. I spent $150 and received nothing for what should have been a simple job.

I have used Richard from Affordable Plumbing multiple times for drain issues at my house. He has always gone above and beyond with his service to ensure my issue was properly taken care of. My house has crazy plumbing and he has always found a way to take of the problem even when it seems like the problem is un-fixable. I have worked with plumbers in the east bay that were not nearly as trustworthy or capable as he is. I would recommend Richard every time.

I broke a jar and got some glass in my garbage disposal. Selecting them from what I saw on Yelp, I called Affordable Plumbing and they made an appointment with me the next day. The day of the appointment, they called and said they could actually come 2-1/2 hours earlier than the appointment. I thought that was good, but ...
Richard arrived, removed the glass from my disposal, and was done in 10 minutes. Charge: $150. Affordable? I think not!!!!!!

Richard is very easy to deal with. Called him on Monday. Scheduled appt for Tuesday. Got the part on Wednesday and the issue is fixed. He is quick and get things done with no hassle.
