Richard was amazing. He came out and assessed the bathroom odor. Said that it was not sewage, but a dead animal probably in the wall. He did not charge me to come out. I then hired somebody (who did charge a $75 ""assessment"" fee) and he took care of the job. A couple of weeks after Richard came to my home, he called me. He said that he had been ""wondering what happened"". What kind of workers do that? Especially someone who didn't even get a paid job. The only reason I am not giving him 5 stars is because although I know he provides excellent customer service, I really have not had him do any work, but with the quality of his customer service, I'm pretty sure his work is pretty good. I would definitely hire him in the future. Thank you Richard!

I am a property manager for many units all over Santa Clara County (ranging from apartments to single family homes) Richard has been honest and gets the job done in a timely manner. If the amount is to go over the original estimate he calls us for approval. I haven't had any problems with Richard from Affordable Plumbing Solutions and I continue to use him for our plumbing needs.

so I had him come give me an estimate to run a dedicated gas line. we ran through the plan of attack and we agreed to everything. I told him I pulled a permit and he gave me a ballpark price and recommended to get other bids.

a few days go by and I call him back with an offer and he agrees and we set a start date.

the start day comes and we run through it again, I reiterate that I pulled a permit and he gets angry any says ""you can't pull this shit on people"" complaining that he has to do a pressure test and this and that. accusing me of not mentioning a permit at our initial meeting. um, huh? real professional right? he hops in his van so fast, as of he had diarrhea continuing to curse down the street.

But I mean why would I NOT pull a permit, it's a GAS line!

i'm so glad he's on yelp so that true incidents like this can be documented for you and me, honest paying consumers.

bottom line: Richard very abrasive, rude, anxious (in a rush) and intimidating verbally/physically and will act like he doesn't need your business. work is under his terms or he's not scared to walk away. so would you hire someone like that?

he'll do work without pulling permits. so that means his work doesn't have to be up to code. sooo it's your house, work should be done properly and up to code (for safety and resale value).

his prices may be affordable but at what cost? quality? safety? no thanks.

i really hope he doesn't come beat me up.

Richard was awesome and I would highly recommend him to friends. He communicates what he needs to do well and his experience shines through.

At first, I just wanted the master bedroom toilet fixed but when he arrived, mentioned that I thought we had a leak with another bathroom. He took a look at it and gave me a quote for a little more to replace the valve cover. He ended up needing to remove & replace all of the fixtures on the tank and the completely degraded cushion/seat between the tank and the bowl. He even had to saw off the bolts and main drain pipe. Even though the job for the toilet was harder than he originally estimated, he didn't charge me more than he quoted in total.

He then replaced the fixture in the master bedroom and was willing to use the one that we had bought but never got around to replacing ourselves.

He also helped me find the main water valve for the house and confirmed that the valves to both toilets were in good working order.

All in all, very satisfied and will definitely use him again!

Thank you fellow yelpers! I called Richard this morning and he actually answered. Good start...we had 3 different issues-leaky toilet, leaky faucet, and our guest shower didn't turn on. Richard said no problem I'll see you this afternoon at 3:00, he was on time, quick, and efficient! Fixed all 3 problems in 30 minutes and was great around our 2 dogs which sometimes they tend to scare folks!! The price was right too!

Richard is awesome! I called him yesterday at 11:30am for an estimate and he was at my condo at 3:40pm. I was worried because I needed the repair done before my new tenants moved in at 6pm that evening and I didn't want to pay too much for the repair.

He gave me a great estimate for a leaky dishwasher, so I told him to fix it. He's an honest and hard working contractor, which are rare these days. I highly recommend him and will definitely use him next time.
