My name is Scott Spencer, and I own Affordable Plumbing and Heat, Inc. For the last 15 years, I have balanced raising my four kids with my work in the plumbing field. Affordable Plumbing has been a family-owned business since 1995, and we uphold the same values from our humble beginnings. People seek VALUE, a quality service at a fair price. The plumbing sector has a negative image, often stemming from commissioned plumbers and flat-rate pricing. The lure is the free estimate; it’s hard to turn someone away once they’re in your home. Affordable Plumbing promotes transparent pricing over the phone with hourly rates for our plumbers. I personally promise to do everything we can to fulfill your expectations and create a pleasant experience for you.

The technician and team on the phone were nice. They knew I was in a bind to get something fixed.
Do not hire this company. Scammers. Quoted roughly 4K higher than other reputable plumbers in the Colorado Springs area. Out to get your money, if they know you are in a bind. This is why they say to get multiple quotes before just hiring someone. Got what I needed completed and saved thousands not going with this company that will up charge you.
Nancy B.we went round and round with these guys when it came to fixing our sewer line. They would Promise one thing, not deliver and we had to do the calling to them to find out anything. it took way too long. I think they may have caused more damage doing the repair and the fact that they said they would hydrojet the line again, it didn't happen. Their invoices are sloppy at best and their customer service isn't there. I don't want want cutsie excuses or promises not followed thru. don't use these guys
Tiffanie D.This is the second time that I have called Affordable Plumbing and Heat- this time for heater issues. They are extremely professional, timely and knowledgeable. I can not say enough good about them, and I will continue to be a loyal customer. I'm so happy that I have found a company that can be trusted and called on when needed!
Your less than 2 year old furnace was short cycling, they first cleaned because it was ""dirty"" and was assured that was the problem. That was $125. Tech didn't even stick around to make sure it worked, another 48 hours before they can come out. Master tech came out. It was the motor, but the parts are under warranty, we will just pay for labor. Took 20 mins to fix and $440 later is was fixed! We asked why we were charged for 2 hours when it only took 20 mins. Well that's the minimum! What a joke! THIS COMPANY IS ANYTHING BUT AFFORDABLE! We will tell everyone we meet not to use this company!
Stay away..
Feb 2022... cost me $ 3,000
Kept telling me I needed new furnace, even tho not that old..(2012)
Kendall was my tech.. totally screwed up wiring, did not use high altitude kit when replacing valve..
I was totally scammed.!!
Frank G.One star simply for the guys on site. DO NOT HIRE THESE SCAMMERS! From requesting two days off so I was home during the work and them not showing up, to leaking connections to them charging me for unperformed work and having their regional manager Jon-lise call me and being very rude. This whole experience was terrible!!!! Their invoice lacks verbiage. The breakout ""work to be done"" on the invoice is included in the price. One would believe, if the work was not done then a deduction of the price should be applied. No not to Jon-lise. She says that the invoice means ""if the work needs to be done"" not that it will be done. They didn't pull a permit, did not hydro-jet, or recamera after the work as stated in the invoice. Yet they say they can't deduct those charges from the overall bid! Please do not do work with these guys.
I've used Affordable before and they have been okay. The scheduling person is delightful. However, this last plumbing issue turned out to be just a loose screw. The plumber laughed and said this happens once a month or so. I was happy to pay the $89 trip charge. Then the plumber said ""let me get a wrench to tighten that for you"". After one quick tighten he said ""that will be $200"" because, technically, I did some work"". Suddenly, not very affordable and I felt rather dupped.
Made an appointment with Beth and was told that Mark would come out the same day between 3-330. Not even 30 min after that I was receiving texts from Mark that he can't make it due to ""personal"" reasons. He texted multiple times while I was driving wanting an answer on rescheduling. Tried to call Beth to verify this and of course no one answered my call, so I left a message and zero response. I finally had a chance to respond to the text and said ""never mind I will use another company that can come out"" , While I understand ""personal emergencies"" happen, I found it suspect that it was so close to having made the appointment and that Beth couldn't return my calls. After another company came and provided service that plumber wanted me to call Affordable and let them know the job was completed. I did as instructed despite already having done that and no response from Mark or Beth. Had Beth just confirmed that Mark couldn't make it I probably would have stuck with them, however the sudden emergency and expecting me to accommodate instead of trying for another solution or apologizing for their ineptness in scheduling, I chose to go with Amy gut after seeing so many poor reviews and go elsewhere!
no stars. Company is not trustworthy, they just want your money for a big install job instead of a cheaper simple repair:
I called in for a tenant-occupied unit experiencing buzzing at the breaker and no hot water. Plumber came out and said they needed an electrical tech to come out before he was able to diagnose the hot water issue. Electrical tech did maintenance on the panel, then we had hot water for about 12 hours before it went cold again. Plumber insisted we needed a new hot water heater. They are the pros so they should be able to correctly diagnose repair. This hot water heater was about 5 years old. After new install, we had hot water for about 12 hours, then no more hot water. The plumber came back out, called an electrician and the electrician replaced the breaker for the water heater. Then hot water was restored. I checked that a permit was pulled for a water heater with regional, because I specifically asked for a full permitted install and that was what was quoted. However, 2 weeks after the repair had passed and there was no permit pulled. A very demanding and confrontational lady called me leaving threatening messages demanding payment, even though the permit was not pulled and inspection was not completed. I insisted they pull the permit and the work pass inspection before paying. The permit was pulled and the plumbing and electrical inspections failed due to open wiring at the top of the electric water heater. I spoke with the company again and they suggested I pay more for additional work, which I refused. Their tech left wires exposed when he installed the water heater. I'm not responsible for paying for them to correct the mistake so I refused the additional 'repair.' Time passed and I received more threatening messages about my nonpayment with additional threats of a lien on my property. I researched water heaters and found out that a simple component part could have been replaced for much, much less money than this full permitted replacement. The plumbing manager at the company could not tell me that they took a resistance reading at the element to determine that the water heater needed replacement. Even if the element was bad, that is no reason to replace the entire unit. After pushing them, they finally corrected their wiring mistakes and passed inspection from regional. I will never use this company again because instead of doing a component part repair they suggested a full water heater replacement which is around $3000. The component they could have replaced on the water heater would have been $50 *at most.* not trustworthy, they just want your money for a big install job instead of a cheaper simple repair.
Sara V.Not impressed, I really don't understand why people don't want to work. We scheduled them to give us an estimate on replacing our boiler. They were not even considerate enough to call or text to let us know they were not going to make it...
