Martin and his crew are the BEST! We've used a few different handymen in the Chicago area over the years, and his services and work were of the highest quality. They painted the back of our built-in shelves, repaired our lamp , changed 3 light fixtures and painted two bathrooms. I highly recommend Martin and his team. His kindness and patience is an added bonus the wonderful work he does.

Martin came in and installed a ceiling fan and a light fixture for me tonight. He called back immediately, gave me an affordable quote, and made time for me within a few days of my request. Man, Martin is great handyman! Not only was he prompt in returning my phone call and helping me with scheduling a time to come out and give me an estimate, but he was also incredibly understanding when I was running late to meet him for my estimate.

He walked me through what could be done, tried to narrow down what the cause of my mysterious ceiling stains could be, and then even came with me to my neighbors units to see if we could narrow down the location/cause of the water leak.

He was also very upfront about what I should do and gave me tips as to how I could get the most bang out of my buck OR make the estimate cheaper (by providing my own paint, for example). Martin is simply the best.

I have now relied on Affordable Handyman Services (AKA Martin and colleagues) on three occasions. Most recently, he repaired and secured a door, and re-hung cabinet doors that were ready to fall off their hinges. I have been very happy with his work, professionalism, and fair billing each time. Moreover, I would feel very comfortable giving him a key to my place to come and go while working on a bigger job (if I had one to do). As I gear up to buy a house, Martin will be my first-choice handyman to do whatever needs doing - and that is his very important skill: he does whatever needs doing, and will let you know right away if he can't or if it isn't worth doing in the first place.

Martin is the best handyman. I needed to hang a 50 lbs replica bull head on a wall that is 12 feet high and knew there was no way I would be able to do this on my own. I called Martin and he came to my house to check out the bull head and look at the wall where I wanted to mount the head. He found the studs to be too far apart as they were 16 inches apart and the bull head was only about 9 inches wide. Martin came back a day later with a solid wood board to mount the head on and them mounted the board to the studs!! He even took the time to paint the board to match the trim in our house and beveled the edges of the board to make it look amazing!!

I found Affordable Handyman via google because I needed my washer/dryer unit to be removed since Sears wouldn't move it, fearing they would damage the floor and door. I emailed the website and Martin contacted me immediately and was able to set up an appointment easily. All I have to say is that Martin and his assistant are the best! They arrived early and even took of their shoes upon entering (without me even asking). They were able to remove the washer/dryer unit without damaging the floor and door. They also vacuumed, swept, and even windexed the area since there was a copious amount of lint accumulation (20+years). I wasn't expecting them to clean so it seriously made my day! Additionally, I was supposed to pay extra for the assistant, but he waived the fee! How awesome is that!? I highly recommend Martin and his team. Not only are they very professional, but they are friendly and get the job done! I definitely will use this company again!

I found Martin on Yelp and contacted him based on the reviews. He installed my backsplash & helped me with various household jobs. He returns phone calls/emails/texts, arrived on time, didn't waste time & did quality work (same w his workers, who he trained and have been with him for years). Didn't walk away from details or a hard job, but fixed it. He even brought me breakfast one morning because I was in the middle of unpacking (MUCH appreciated). Rates were reasonable for licensed and insured. Thanks Martin!

These guys are the best! Martin is one of the nicest, most honest, hardworking people I have ever met. Him and his employees go above and beyond and always get the job done... they do excellent quality work and charge fair prices. The first time we used them for a project it was much cheaper than all of the other estimates we had gotten... now we don't even bother to get estimates from anyone else we always just go straight to Affordable Handyman. They recently painted the apartment we just moved to and did an awesome job.... the guys stayed really late both nights to make sure they finished the job on time. Martin can also do pretty much any type of work and him and all of his employees are extremely nice. We love Affordable Handyman and I would definitely recommend using these guys!

I had three interior doors that needed to be hung and because my place is old I knew it would take a professional. Martin and his carpenter (wish I could remember his name because he was awesome) came over when they said they would, did an excellent job, never rushed and cleaned up every speck of dirt and dust before they left. This place is worth every penny!!
