I could not be happier!!

I emailed Martin with a list of things I needed done and he sent me an estimate that same day. After dealing with a number of handymen in the area, I can tell you that his prices are completely fair. He does charge a minimum of one hour, but no service charge which is great!

Martin showed up on time and was extremely professional. He took the time to make sure the light fixture was in the exact place I wanted. He also hung a smoke detector in no time at all. We were done within the hour and instead of just charging me for an entire hour he asked if there was anything else I needed done. To that end, I had him caulk a faucet in my bathroom and discussed a few other projects I wanted to have done.

Everything was done to my satisfaction and I would recommend him to anyone!

P.S. I can't help but comment on the last post...

Chris M - Let me ask you this; would you rather have had a handyman quote you less, do the labor and then charge you double? You should be happy with the honesty you received from Martin - I don't think there is enough of that anymore. And remember, you get what you pay for...

To be honest, that price is way out of line. It's basically an 8-hour job and that works out to $225 per hour.

Martin is not only affordable, but also very able and affable. Best handyman I've had to date.

We had a number of minor to medium jobs around the house that he had done in under an hour. He was so quick that we ended up keeping him around for another hour to take care of additional jobs.

(My fiance is walking around saying, ""everything is looking so good"" as I type this.)

Martin really went above and beyond what he asked him to do.

Anyway, to wrap it up -- quality work, done quickly, low cost and a great personality.

Having recently moved into a new condo, I was having some trouble getting my washer and dryer to work with the space and electrical set-up that was already there. Being fairly new to the city of Chicago, I was verrrry wary of choosing a handyman online, but I decided to and selected Martin because he had wonderful reviews. I'm very happy to say that I had a five star experience as well! I had several plumbing issues that needed to be resolved....garbage disposal, flapper on a toilet and bathtub faucet. The first two were resolved almost immediately, but the faucet took a little longer because a part had to be ordered. However, Martin was able to resolve all these issues. And, I found him to be very cost effective, reliable and honest. I am absolutely thrilled to know someone now that I can feel comfortable calling to do all kinds of general maintenance in my unit.
