Shelly B.I can't even review their work because they didn't show up. They gave me a window of time and I stayed home for this. They said between 10 & 2 and it's now 3:15. Nobody has showed up or bothered to call. I have called twice to see if they are still coming and nobody answers the phone. I have left two messages but they haven't returned my call.
The only reason I called them is because this is under a home warranty & it's the number they gave me. I am now on the phone requesting a number to another plumber. After reading the other reviews maybe I should be thankful they didn't show up.
Never use again. AC wasn't working so called and got appointment for the next day. A guy came out and was hard to communicate with. Tested one thing and said it was the control board. It was a Wednesday, he told me he couldn't get one till the next Tuesday and it would cost $750. Got it on my own for $281 and installed in 20 minutes. Didn't fix the problem. Called to have them come back out and specifically asked for a different guy. The next day they tried to send the same guy and when I asked to speak with a supervisor he never called me back.
I just wanted to take the time to add a positive review. We have the American Home Shield warranty so Advantage was dispatched to fix an air conditioner issue we had. I was a little wary after reading the other reviews on here.
The technician (Mike, I believe his name is) showed up in the window they had provided, calling to let me know he was on his way 20 minutes before he showed up.
He tracked down a strange wiring issue that was caused by existing wiring on the heat pump not working with the new Nest thermostat that I had put in. He had it diagnosed and fixed quickly.
I've got no complaints and would happily use them again.
Worst service ever. Sent out by our American Home Shield service as an emergency for a cracked frozen pipe to our well. Did the sloppiest non-repair job ever. AHS sent them back out (got the same unfriendly, didn't give a damn repairman who left to get a part he claimed he needed and didn't come back for 6 hours. He did a messy, incorrectly repaired amateur job. We hired another company to come in who professionally repaired it correctly and verbalized their amazement on how badly the pipes had been attempted to be repaired. Don't use this company.
Therese R.We were hooked up with Advantage Air Mechanical through our home owners insurance. We're very pleased with the selection. Air Mechanical immediately set us up with a technician, Joshua Force. Joshua was extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and quick. He was able to diagnose the problem within 15 minutes, which was a hole in the evaporator coil. Joshua took the necessary steps to insure this part was ordered. In the meantime, Joshua replaced the lost coolant with more to make sure we remained cool & comfortable until the part arrived. It worked! Our part arrived and was installed within a week. The two gentlemen who installed the part were also efficient & quick. They were out of our home within an hour. They cleaned up the work space and sealed our unit very professionally! I would highly recommend Advantage Air Mechanical.
A R.Called Advantage Air to service heat pump. I scheduled my appointment and made arrangements to leave work early on that day. The day arrived and the scheduled window had approached, I called to confirm my appointment. The person answering confirmed my appointment, but now told me it would be later than had been scheduled. I left work an hour early since, I didn't want their tech waiting too long. On my way home I saw an Advantage Air service van I thought it may be the person doing our service...wrong!
4 o'clock, 5 o'clock, 6 o'clock all zoomed by and not a peep from these ""professionals"". I called their office several times only to be greeted by their voicemail (which is full and doesn't accept new ones). Mind you their web page reads:
""A real, live person will always be available to answer your call, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.""
I guess they need to add a footnote reading unless it's past 4 o'clock.
When I made my appointment I was asked for my phone number as well as a good alternate where I could be reached. I wonder what the purpose of that is for? Neither their dispatch, nor their tech called me to inform me that my scheduled appointment was for naught.
I suspect the professionalism of this company is severely lacking and perhaps it is my best interest that they will never be providing me any future service.
It took a long time to get an Emergency Service call ""in process"", but after getting through to Kyle, the work was done thereafter both promptly and appropriately. Many kudos to Josh who really went the extra mile for us.
D M.This is a joke of a company! They never call back. When you do call you are on hold forever. They are slow as heck! They didn't even fix the air conditioner and now I have to wait again! I'm stuck using them as I am a renter and the owner uses Home Shield. Which they only use chop shop people!! PS they leave messes behind too! PS don't ""buy"" the commercial ads!!!!
We used Advantage because it was the ONLY contracted provider through our home warranty company. We waited 7 days, in the middle of July for an appointment. All the while our family was sweltering without AC. At that appointment we were told that the compressor needed to be replaced and that it would take approximately 14 days for approval (through the warranty company) to get that part installed. We, instead, opted to replace out the entire system at our expense. The installers gave me the run-down on the new system and told me that any hardware store would have the filter required for the system. We found that not to be the case as our system requires that one and only one filter brand be used with the unit. All other ""standard"" filters are 1/2 inch too large. In addition, our nice 5-1-1 Honeywell thermostat was replaced with an el-cheapo thermostat that was faulty. We couldn't figure out why it was sweltering in the house at night. The thermostat said 73 degrees, but in actuality it was 80 or more. Oh how I wish that I had had the option of keeping our nice, completely functional (and expensive) thermostat. Reggie, the tech that came out to remedy the thermostat and filter problem was very professional and took the time to replace the faulty thermostat. He was positive and upbeat, yet honest, which I appreciated. I guess, bottom line, when I am paying thousands of dollars to replace a system, the replacement parts should be standard and should be the same or better quality than the existing components.
