I originally found this company as they were selected by our home warranty provider. They fixed that original problem, and I have used them since on AC and furnace checks, in addition to one other major issue that was covered by the home warranty. The service people show up when scheduled and I have been satisfied with the service provided.

I completely relate to all of the reviews I've read. This was absolutely the worst experience with a service company in 28 years as a homeowner. I was without heat from 12/23/14 through 01/09/15 -- through the freezing nights, the snow on New Year's, and the frigid nights and mornings after that. There were 3 technician visits and they STILL didn't repair the furnace. On 12/26, the first one diagnosed the problem as the control board, but offered to get me a new thermostat to placate me ""so you'll feel like you got something for your $100 service charge."" The furnace failed an hour after he left. Because he didn't write ""control board"" on the work order, they refused to honor the repair. The girl in the office argued with me, ""How did you come up with 'control board'?"", as if I could make up something like that. She spoke to the tech and came back and said, ""He didn't write it because it wasn't 'completely broken'."" I asked her to explain how a furnace that blows cold air isn't ""completely broken"". She had no idea. Then she said, ""The new thermostat will fix the problem."" I tried to explain that the thermostat wasn't the problem, but it was a waste of my breath. The second technician came back on 12/31 -- 5 more days without heat! -- to replace the thermostat, which he agreed wasn't the problem, so he didn't replace it. He ordered the control board. He returned on 1/6 -- 6 more days without heat -- and what a show! He walked right in the door past me, clapped his hands and said, ""Let's get going, I have to leave town for a funeral and I have to use the restroom, you go throw the breaker."" I went outside to throw the breaker and when I came back inside the guy was nowhere to be found. Turns out, he had walked through my house, opening doors until he found a bathroom on the far side of the house! I was outraged! My young daughters were asleep in their rooms! Never in all these years has any service person trespassed in my home in that way! He then went up on the roof and replaced the control board (I presume), then was blabbering on about heat pumps and how awful they are, despite the fact that I don't have a heat pump and don't care how bad they are. As he walked down my front steps, he said, laughing, ""I don't care about this job -- I'm retiring in March!"" An hour after he left, the heat went off again! I phoned and left a message for Kevin, who has never called me back. Do not let these unprofessional people in your home!

Would give this place negative stars if I could. Don't expect call backs from their ""emergency"" line, or any of their message services. Took 48 hours for them to even call us after the home warranty place put in a order...then I missed the call and they automatically bumped us to the back of the line and tried to tell us they couldn't come for another five days. This was a broken heater during the coldest week of the year with three kids in the house - and they simply don't give a shit. I had to raise holy hell for hours on the phone with the warranty company before they finally sent someone out that day....then we found out we need a part order. I've waited four days for the part - just called to see what's going on and SURPRISE - they hadn't even put the part order in yet. Absolutely hands down the worst home contractor company I've ever dealt with. Unless you're forced into using them with your warranty - RUN FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

This company is really trying to turn their negative reputation in a positive one. We had an air emergency in August and needs to replace a 24 year old unit.

After meeting with 3 people and comparing prices and general attitudes of other companies of a new unit we went with advantage.

We have not been anything but pleased with their professionalism and service. Their price was very reasonable for a new unit(I did my homework).

We had a small, minor follow-up this week and they came out immediately and addressed this small problem.

I almost did not use them because of the negative reviews, but they had serviced our unit last year and we were very happy with that service was well.


Today we received a follow-up call regarding our service,just as we did in August.

I would bet hesitate using them again or recommending them.

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with an AC company- or any company! Unfortunately, they're the contractor covered through our home warranty, but we have waited for almost 3 weeks and our AC is still broken. After being told that a coil needs to be replaced, they called and told me the ""good news""- the home warranty company wanted to replace our entire system! 3 days later, they changed their story and claimed that no one ever said they would replace our unit, and they still don't know when they'll be able to repair the AC. I've left several messages for the manager with no response, I've been brushed off time after time, and I still don't have an answer. I would NEVER recommend this company. Horrible customer service.

I called 9/3 they came out fri 9-5 it is now Monday and I've been without any type of cooling going on day 6. Every time I ask to speak to mgmt they are in a meeting. Horribly service from American home shield and advantage air mechanical. Pick different companies

Very bad service. They have been trying to ""fix"" my plumbing issue for a month and I still have a snake stuck in the vent. They said I need to replace my sewer line and two weeks after giving me this bad news they have not contacted me again (this week I am going on my third week). I have had to call two to three times a week just to try to get copies of the sewer line picture/video and remind them that they need to reset my toilet, repair my laundry room plumbing, and kitchen plumbing. The latter items they pulled up/cut up when they placed the camera in the sewer line. Thus far, no word from them. I have only talked to the owners assistant who keeps telling me they are trying to get a hold of my insurance. Interesting.

This company took 8 days to get part for air conditioner. Then that was not all they needed, took another day. All in July, only 1 day was under 100 degrees. No concern expressed for the fact my husband is a spinal patient, who I explained to people who answered the phone and the tech that came out have difficulty regulating extremes of temperature. Husband ended up in Will not recommend or ever use again.

I guess I'm not the only one. They took over a week to come out to my house. Another week to order the part. When I argued about the price because it was an outrageous amount (even with insurance) they got offended and refused to send anyone out to fix my ac. They said they couldn't send anyone without full payment first, even though they had agreed to a payment plan. They retracted it and required full payment before they sent anyone but they wouldn't know the amount until the technician finished his work. I've been caught between a rock and a hard place. I will absolutely never use them again and will tell everyone I can of how poorly and inefficiently they deal with clients. I am outraged. I have now gone 3 weeks in the middle of summer without air conditioning.

Terrible. This company has taken poor service and poor management to a new level. Fifth service call is expected tomorrow for the original problem which has not been fixed. The guy who showed up yesterday to work on the a/c didn't even know why he was there. And when he found out he said that he didn't have the right tools.
Obviously, no one from management talked to him.

There have been 3 different service personnel at our house. There is no communication between them. And when one guy screws up and you call the office to get someone to come out they put you off for 2or 3 days. No priority for previous screw-ups.

Anybody who voluntarily deals with this outfit needs their head examined.
