We had a 100 gallon Bradford White water heater which was still under warranty. We went to the Bradford White website to identify how we could get a repair done because it had a faulty ignition system. Paster Plumbing was featured on the website so we assumed they were associated with the water heater company.
We called and they sent a technician by the name of Donny to evaluate. Once the technician arrived, he stated that although the water heater is under warranty, they are not an official provider, they only take out an ad banner on the Bradford White website. However, he said he could order the part which would be covered under the warranty, but the labor would be $500 to install. Furthermore, he added that we needed a new recirculating mechanism because it was going out, and that these are quite pricey, but he could take care of that for us as well.
I went on to let the technician know that we had home warranty insurance coverage, and if in fact the recirculating pump is a problem, we would go through them. I asked if he could help me simply light the pilot so that we could get hot water, and gave him a lighter considering the ignitor system was not working. It took him about ten seconds to light the pilot.
He then went on to charge us $150 for lighting the pilot.
The following day, we had Payless Water Heating Plumbing Company ,who was a provider for Bradford White, come at to check out the problem. First, they ordered the part which was under warranty, and their total labor cost to install was $100. Furthermore, they said there was nothing wrong with the recirculating pump.
I just feel it's important to share this information because there are so many contractors out there that are dishonest and upselling the client rather than doing the right thing.
Also, if Donny charges $150 for every ten seconds of work, he's making $54,000 an hour.

Excellent emergency service on a Sunday morning; friendly, compassionate, so willing to help.
Thank you for being there!

I usually don't leave reviews but I need to warn the consumers about these guys.
Honesty, Integrity, Customer Service, & Value doesn't apply to these guys.
Tech came over to give me a 'free' quote to fix my HVAC. He inspects my unit for an hour and talks to his supervisor and tells me that the problem is a faulty wiring from my thermostat to the furnace. He quotes me $250 to re-run a 15 feet wire... claiming it includes full warranty and Priority Customer Care service for a year & etc. He says he doesn't have the wire and he will come back the next day. Next day comes and he supposedly runs the wire (I was not home but my wife was). The heater works but my AC still doesn't work. Also in the process, he cut the power line to my door bell.... so my door bell doesn't work either.
Now he claims there's a faulty wire from my AC unit to the thermostat and it will be another $250 to rewire it.... at this point I'm not happy. I call the sales supervisor the next morning and he says he will reduce it to $150 to re-wire my AC and fix my door bell. I reluctantly agree. He tells me since I purchased their 'Consumer Care' plan, I'll get priority service and someone will call to schedule an appointment right away. I get no call that day. I call again the next day ""twice"" and finally schedule an appointment. The tech calls and says his supervisor says the estimate is now $350. What?? We had a verbal agreement for $150 already. I tell the tech to have his supervisor call me.
At this point, I lost all faith in these guys and I placed a stop payment on the $250 check for not completing the work and trying to scam me for the annual Customer Care Plan.
An hour later, I get a call from the tech and says his supervisor will discount it to $175... that's $25 more than what he had promised me the day before. Really??
I don't think I want these guys coming back....
Warning -
1) Do not buy their annual Customer Care Plan that they try to scam you with false promises.
2) Get your free quote and assessment from these guys (since it's free) but get a second opinion and estimate before hiring these guys.
They are partners with a company called ""Bay Cities Furnace and Air Conditioning"". I wouldn't trust these guys either.

Unfortunately our experience was horrible, first the company has been sold and this is a new company that has taken over. The first technician spend 3 days in our house and not only did he not fix the leaking sink, he damaged more things, broke a pipe and had to open the dry wall. After complaining, another technician finished the job, still have a hole in the wall. I would not be using them again.

Minor re-piping under sink and garbage disposal installation (replacement) = $1380 ! Would not break down labor/ equipment. Work quality ok. We have used them for over 15 years but Family sold last year. Over $350/ hr. labor ? Yikes.
Glen called me two days later and understood my issues. They satisfied my concerns and made adjustments

Chris installed a line to hook up water to my new refrigerator in my very old house. Paster plumbing isd alway courteous and helpful . Chris goes above and beyond Great job

My 88-year-old widowed mother-in-law had a leak from her washing machine. She called Paster Plumbing. They evaluated the problem and presented her with a contract to fix it for $2,565. She signed the contract.
Later that day, they came back to her and said the problem was far worse than they originally thought. They said she needed much more work done. So they got her to sign a second contract, this one for $9,711.
Two days later, after working on the project, they came back to her and said it was, again, far worse than they thought even after the second evaluation. So they got her to sign a third contract, this one for an additional $14,130. (Bringing the total to $26,406, later 'discounted' $1,250 when they admitted they had charged her twice for the same thing on different contracts.)
On the third contract they indicated that they offered to do less expensive repairs. They indicated she declined that offer. They also indicated that they asked if she wanted to call a family member, an offer they say she also declined.
Unfortunately we were out of town when this happened, otherwise I would have told them to stop after the first contract and gotten two more estimates for the work. When we learned about all this, we asked why she hadn't called us and she said it was because we were out of town.
When we saw the contracts, we asked if she realized what she was signing every time they gave her a contract. She said she had no idea.
Like many elderly people, she wants to remain independent and, for the most part, she is capable, though she does have help during the week. She didn't call us because she didn't want to look like she might need help. She didn't want to be a burden.
The project involved pulling new pipe through where the original pipe had been. Having had a similar, though not identical, project done at my home, I suspect this could have been professionally done for about half of what Paster charged. (In my project, we found one bathroom was connected to a septic tank instead of to sewer line as realtor had sold it. To get connected to sewer required about 20 feet of hand trenching before they brought in a backhoe to trench another 45 feet to hook to sewer. This took 2 or 3 days and several men, so while not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, I think it's close. I had my job done for just under $10,000.)
After my mother-in-law signed the second contract, the Paster representative knew she wasn't calling anyone for a second estimate and he knew she was signing every contract they put in front of her. So that worked out well for them.
We asked Paster for a detailed accounting of the work. They said they didn't 'historically' do that. When I explained that my mother-in-law was upset about the cost and that she wanted a detailed accounting, they agreed to provide one. I also requested a copy of the city permit, which they charged her for.
Paster charged so much to her credit card that it exceeded her credit limit. When a Paster representative called to complain about this, we again asked for the detailed accounting. Again, they said they would provide it but would expect full payment for the work within 2-3 days of delivering the accounting. We agreed to that.
However, when we paid down her credit card, Paster immediately charged the outstanding balance without ever providing the detailed accounting they had promised. They also never provided a copy of the city permit. I called them and I sent an email asking what had happened to the promise to deliver the detailed accounting and permit. They never returned my call and they never responded to my email.
If their honesty and integrity in their pricing is on par with their honesty and integrity in terms of keeping their promises, you should look elsewhere for a plumber. I know we do. I have copies of all relevant emails to back this up. Don't trust them any further than you can comfortable spit a rat.

This is a good news and not so good review.
Had an emergency repair late into the evening on 10/27/15. I agreed to the $150 service charge and the technician needed to repair a broken pipe in the front yard and replace hose bib. I was charged $395 for the job, no pipe replacement and a 20 dollar part.
Today I had a follow up call from another Paster Plumbing employee Chris who has been to my home on several occasions. Chris is the total package and professional. He goes above and beyond every time he comes and today he solved a major issue for me an I did not even ask.
I have always found Paster to be reliable an I hope they will reconsider the $395 charge

Wonderful job, quick easy and clean! I called in the morning around 930am and had a technician at the door by 1pm. I was quoted a price before the job began. The price was a bit high... however don't mind paying for quick and efficient service. The technician had to purchase a few parts before he could begin. Had this not been a last minute job he would have arrived with the needed parts. Fernando fixed everything perfectly. He was professional and even wore booties in the house so he wouldn't get the floors dirty. I will definitely use this company again and recommend them to anyone I know who needs a plumber.

I have used Paster Plumbing to install a tankless water heater almost 5 years ago as well as low flush toilets 3 years ago and had been very satisfied with their work. I called them again recently and had set an appointment to see what the cost would be to flush the water heater (which I will do soon) and maybe get a recirculating pump to make instant hot water to cut down on water bills. The office receptionist suggested that I make a list of other things I may want him to look at. Alfredo came out and was very helpful, honest and knowledgeable. I had him adjust and repair my toilets which have had some difficulty in flushing and working properly. He also suggested and then adjusted each one to use the minimum amount of water but still have enough power to flush. He even helped me carry out a large package to my car. I highly recommend Paster Plumbing. The receptionist even gave me a follow up call to see how my experience was with the Company.
