Rob F.This company has really gone off the rails since I first started using them several years ago. They're as predatory as oil change places used to be. I don't trust them at all after researching the repair they did for me. It was a gas valve replacement costing $1200. After the fact, I learned that price was about $400 too high. I checked with two companies by phone as their quotes backed up what I'd read online. I'll keep using their annual maintenance plan, but any repair over 300 bucks is going to be bid out.
We've had two different plumbing issues the past two weeks. Lee and Brady both were both very professional. Lee got out water heater situation resolved quickly and went over in detail what was wrong and what we might need to do in the future. Brady was able to get a temporary solution for our water softener problem. He also was very detailed in describing what was happening and what would need to be done to fully resolve what was going on with a long term solution. Action Air responded very quickly both times.
I've used this company for years and was always happy with the service and price. But it seems those things have changed. I feel they've become predatory in their business practices. Over priced and always ""finding"" a problem. Disappointed with them.
We've used action air quite a few times to service our AC and furnace along with replacing our water heater. All great experiences until recently when Josh was sent out for a tune up on our AC. He recommended we purchase a whole home dehumidifier and air purifying system. We've had action air clean our ducts and sanitize with no mention of any concerns and prior tune ups, no concerns communicated. Josh says it's the end of month and maybe his boss will do a deal but in total it would be close to 7k. I said no given the cost and economy and he passively aggressively says ""well it's your house, your air, you choose what to breathe"" showing his true intention of wanting to push product sale.
Yan K.My parents and I got a flyer from Action Air for their different services. These include Water Heater, Drain Cleaning, Sewer Water Line, and others. We recently encountered a clog with a kitchen sink, and thought to give their service a try.
Scheduled an appointment for them to come and diagnose the issue. Their phone service is a bit weird, they have an operator to take phone calls, and someone will call back. This seems inefficient to me, but different business, different operations. When the plumber went out take a look, their diagnosis was they are unable to run the drain machine, and frozen pipes. They mentioned to me that they might need to replace the pipes and plumbing. They said they will consult with their boss for a quote during business hours.
That's understandable, but I wanted to try someone else. So I called for a second opinion, and was actually referred to a company named Commercial Sewer Cleaning. They said they also had a lot of calls ahead and might not be the same day, but left my number. They actually called back the same day, and was able to come take a look at the clog as well. I told them the diagnosis from Action Air, but they told me that shouldn't be the issue. The current piping might be old, but it does have insulation and is not exposed to the elements. They were later on able to snake the pipe and clear it up.
So Action Air gave me the wrong diagnosis. It seems like they want more work and money to replace the pipes. Which would still not resolve the issue cause there will be no change to the clog further down the pipe. To me, their plumbers do not seem to have the knowledge and experience of how to correctly diagnose problems, and it is unprofessional.
I've used Action Air for years and generally have had good experiences with cost and service. However, on this maintenance visit the tech used a ladder that left mud and oil stains on the carpet which didn't fully come out with a vacuum. He also left a used humidifier pad and air filter on the floor and didn't clean up well at all. Seemed more interested in getting in and out quickly than with providing thorough and clean service.
Kellye C.This company operates off of a predatory business model. Their prices guage people out of their money with high pressured sales tactics and snarky employees. $370 replacement is insane for a $15 part. And to get the price down you add insult to injury by forcing people into joining a monthly club with little to no benefits. This company and subsequently their employees are acting unethically. Can you imagine if I, as a mental health counselor, had someone come to me suicidal and I spent 30 min with them and charged them $300? That's ridiculous, and I would lose my license. This is no different.
Justin T.Our AC unit had been serviced last year by a different company, so it seemed odd that we would need service again so soon. Called Action Air who was able to come out quickly (and even had an earlier opening on the appointment day, so came out sooner) and take a look. They noticed there were potential micro leaks happening, which had been pointed out previously by the other company, and they recommended adding leak sealer, which had Not been previously mentioned or recommended. Refrigerant was filled, sealer added, and AC quickly started working well.
To go even further, they offered the Year membership, which actually dropped the overall cost of service and then includes two free checkups. They just finished the checkup and noticed the blower was running high, so upon lowering it the unit will run more efficiently and properly - more very helpful information!
Tl:dr; quality problem-solving, informative, and timely.
They were able to send someone out the same day which was wonderful. Grant was very professional & nice. He was able to replace the water shut off valve which had broken & that was worth the visit. But he didn't fix the leak in our toilet. He thought he had but it was leaking again within a couple of days. I totally understand that he couldn't loosen the 23 year old bolts but do feel like he could've sealed it which is what I'm getting ready to do. Just need it to hold until the world is back to normal & it can be replaced.
Our front water spicket had been leaking a stream of water about the size of a pencil we noticed when we returned from vacation. Every plumbing company I had called in the past was two to three days out or I could pay their ""overtime"" to get them out today. I am also still waiting for return calls from some of them. Many of their quotes were unreasonable as well.
This is the first time we have called Action plumbing and they came out the same day I called (without any additional costs or fees). Grant was extremely professional, quick, friendly and thorough! He let me know the difference in cost choosing a replacement vs a repair. The repair was still under the other plumbers prices and the leak is totally resolved! Thank you Grant! Lexi (schedules the services) was also extremely helpful letting me know of the coupons they had available! She was also very friendly and accommodating! I would recommend Action Air!
