They came out and replaced the main board on the old furnace a few months ago ahead of their promised schedule. No complaints...hope I get a few more years out of the beast.

We used them because my dad had used them the last 20 years. They came and installed the furnace in November but we've had nothing but problems since then. They came out 7 times and most of the times they came out, they promised to call back within 30 minutes and never did so we were always left waiting at home with no status until we called back, which was usually at the end of the work day. The technician cobbled together leftover used parts (bunch of corner joints in lieu of a straight pipe because he didn't have anything else) to replace vent pipes and that kept leading to backed up heat that melted the tape. We kept smelling burnt plastic going into the house. They finally replaced all the vents, but we still have some burnt plastic smell but now they refuse to fix it because they said the venting was never part of the original quote and we had to pay $1K more if we wanted them to fix the problem (even though the technician every time they came out had no idea what the problem was and told the boss they couldn't smell anything). We took a thermometer gun to zap the pipes and found out heat was backing up in certain parts, so it would fluctuate up to 200F+ degrees, melting the tape, and whatever else.
Every time we called this company, they wouldn't even listen to the problem and just scheduled someone to come out who had no expertise in troubleshooting the problem.
So, fast forward to March, we gave up and asked another HVAC company to come and look at it. There is a leak in the wrapped up unit, which is great, because it's been blowing asbestos all around. The wrapped pipes were not done very well because the tape was all loose and the wrap was coming undone. Now we have to get those pipes redone, they have to fix the leak, as well as the bubble wrapped pipes (and now we also have to do asbestos removal because Ace had glued the stuff onto the bubble wrap where the leak is).
Good luck if you go with them, probably depends on which technician you get.

These reviews are definitely hot and cold so i won't break the trend, i'm going hot for Ace, however only 4 our of 5 as I agree with one aspect of some of the poorer reviews - their customer service isn't instantaneous - it may take a little while to get a call back, and they don't accept credit cards which is inconvenient, but, they're an old school San Francisco mom & pop business and in the end they really delivered well on what they promised. They are busy in the winter months, and couldn't come same day to provide an estimate, but they came the second day and on the third they replaced my furnace at the very reasonable price they estimated. Other companies I called did show up immediately, but they wouldn't repair my old furnace, only replace and I didn't really trust that I had to have a new furnace, I wanted the option to repair it. Ace did offer an option for repair or replace, and in the end I chose to replace it. I think they're a solid, reliable, company - but a small local business, so don't expect them to perform miracles, but do expect some reliable, fair service from them.

This company deserves a ZERO!! I have used Ace once before and wasn't happy but was desperate because other companies were swamped. Honestly, I think the guy did an honest job, however, when he called to get a price for the part from the receptionist, she wasn't there, and never called back. The guy didn't have the parts and had to come back. Then we get a bill for $575. We asked the receptionist/owner?? to itemize the bill. She says if she does that, she'll need to charge us tax???? My hubby gets mad and she deducts $50. He wants to pay w/ Credit card, she says they aren't set up for that. Wouldn't you tell a customer that fact up front. What a scam. This company is a deservice to the community of Parkside/Sunset that they do business. They suck!!!!!!!

Our heater stopped working on Wednesday. I called Ace and was told they could send a technician THursday at 10:00 am. At 8:00 am, the technician called and said he could come EARLY if we wanted him to. Jose arrived and what a delight. He was friendly, courteous and most importantly, got the job done quickly.

Sorry to say that I was supremely disappointed in my experience with Ace Furnace Company today. Last night our heater quit working and with the cold temperatures we were really feeling the loss! My husband called Ace this morning and they promised to be out before 12:00 to fix it. At 12:00pm they called and cancelled our appointment and said they would put us on the list as the second job tomorrow!! That wasn't going to do, so I busily called every other company I could find to help us. Meantime, I'd called Ace back to beg for someone to come out, even if was late. Nobody answered so I left a message. Luckily we got a call back from another company who was able to fit us in and came right out. As they were fixing our problem the woman from Ace called said she was sending someone right over. I told her not to bother, the other company was doing the repair!
We were literally left out in the cold by Ace, and won't be using them again. Poor form Ace!

Great service. They came out twice to take a look at our furnace. The first time they did not even charge for their evaluation! They really took the time to explain the issues and show evidence of their findings.

My wife and I purchased our home in 2005 and the heater wasn't working too well. Ace is local to our house and their sticker was on our existing heater. I know they have been in the neighborhood forever - maybe at one time they did a better job with customer service. They did very poorly in our case. They were slow to call back or communicate about scheduling or needed work (we ended up replacing our house's original gravity furnace with a forced air one.) Ace's personnel were combative over the phone and in person. They didn't do the work right the first time and had to come out to fix things. But they blew off successive appointments and things dragged on even when their techs did show. They were taking so long ; it dragged on for weeks. We finally got somebody else to complete the job.
Save yourself the headaches - call somebody else.

I had a very simple job but Ace was courteous, timely and efficient in scheduling and completing the work. Good job and reasonably priced.

We needed a new furnace so I called a few heating contractors. A middle aged lady came out and gave me an estimate. She told me when they could start and when they would finish. Only one guy would do all of the work. I was a little surprised that one guy could bring in the furnace, install it, connect all the pipes, new flue up to the roof, and all the work on the roof but he did. James did a beautiful job and we're very happy with the new furnace. The only thing that put me off was the lady who came out to estimate the job kept passing gas. She should have been more professional.
