These guys have been my vendor for a few years now. Always prompt professional and great service. They send text messages with the photo of the technician who calls before they arrive to give me an ETA. Recently I got my annual HVAC check up for no cost and had some Nest thermostats and doorbell installed. Mark did the work for me this year. He is super prompt, great communicator informing me of each step he is taking, when he gets an unexpected issue, what he is doing about it. Would strongly recommend these guys. They are "keepers".

Great service from AC Pros today. Had a plumbing issue serviced by Doug who called ahead of visit. Arrived on time. Diagnosed and fixed the problem. Left the area clean and most important, operational. Appreciated a follow up call explaining what was found, the nature of the service, and simple measures we can take to avoid a recurrence. AC Pros is my only call for HVAC and plumbing services. Always responsive and informative.

Have you ever had an A/C repairman tell you what the problem was over the phone and how to fix it yourself? I never had either until today. My first experience with Noah Franklin, owner of A/C Pros was last September when my A/C stopped cooling. The previous repairman that I called told me I needed a whole new system for $13,000. I called A/C Pros for a second quote. Instead, Noah found the problem, a leaking coil, and pointed out that the coil was still under warranty. He obtained the replacement and installed it for less than 10% of the other quote.

Today's problem turned out to be a clogged condensate drain. I texted Noah last evening, and he told me what he suspected. I have been able to use my shop vac to keep the condensate level down and keep the house cool until Noah's crew came today and fixed the problem. I highly recommend A/C Pros.

They are overpriced. My AC wasn't cooling the air and I put a request in homeadvisor. Then "Acpros HVAC" contacted me and said its $89 just for the technician to visit (not so bad) and will be used for the repair if there was repair. Then he found that refrigerant was very low and gave me 2 options after he could not find the leak: Either recharge the refrigerant or replace the evaporator coil (replacement cost he quoted was $3500) I went with a recharge option and he gave me the idea that it probably won't be more than 3-4 lbs recharge. But, after the work was done, he said he had to recharge about 7 lbs and he gave me a bill of $680!!!!. (Its only fair that he cannot provide correct estimate on how many lbs are needed before the work is done) This is like $97/lb. Normally recharging R410a refrigerant costs about $35 per pound including labor which should have costed $245 (refer this link:https://www.homeadvisor.com/cost/heating-and-cooling/home-ac-recharge-freon-refill/#labor). Unfortunately I realized the markup after the work has been done and I got invoice.

Update: Just to put the point across, the actual work done by the technician is outstanding. My AC has been cooling my home perfectly since the work and has been a huge improvement. For this I am updating the rating to 3 stars. The above review is only about the company pricing based on the fair pricing I gauged from other consumers in online forums. There is a chance that online forums are incorrect about correct pricing. So, take my "buyer's remorse " over the pricing with a grain of salt.

Everyone at AC Pros HVAC is sooo nice and so good at what they do! The word I think of that describes them is "teamwork".
Thank you!!

I called based off their Yelp reviews and I was impressed with how quickly they returned my call and how fast they had someone available to come out. Hence the two stars. However - this place is incredibly overpriced. To a point of just being a bit of a scam. Definitely shop around as there are just way too many other well reviewed options that are hundreds of dollars less. It cost $95 just for someone to drive a few blocks to my house in Steiner Ranch - which would be fine but that doesn't go toward the cost of any repairs which is unusual. Since my bedroom AC wasn't blowing cold air ( every other AC unit in my entire 5 bedroom home worked perfectly except the one in my bedroom) he informed me I had two options. Option one was to recharge the system which doesn't solve the problem as clearly there is a leak but it will solve it temporarily. Guess what the cost for this option was ? It was $350 to recharge it ( totally fine) for the first pound of Freon and here comes the catch - $75 for each additional pound. He claims he used four pounds and my entire bill ended up being $680. An absurd cost. For reference, Option two was a leak "test" which was $250 and then to replace the part he "thought" may be causing the leak it would cost $1500- and no the $250 test doesn't go toward the part, labor or repair. I ultimately had them recharge the unit as I wasn't expecting the total to come out to $680 or I never would have done it. Total RIP OFF. These guys are nice and responsive but there are tons of good businesses out there who don't triple their rates for the same outcome.

I've used AC Pros twice now. Once for HVAC, when I had my big unit die on me. The install went great and while there were snags, I have to say that Noah and his team never leave you hanging. Installing a new system is complex and when a component failed not long after, the techs came out without hesitation to resolve the issue at no extra costs to me. That experience was so positive that when I had a major plumbing issue, a leak in the line coming to the house, I called them (don't be dissuaded by the HVAC in their name, they do plumbing too) and they were able to fit me in. While there were issues with the repair (silt and small pebbles had gotten into the line), the repairman came back and worked on flushing the pipes and the other equipment spending almost the entire day. I was worried, would they charge me for another day of work in doing those repairs? I should have remembered their earlier commitment to getting the job done right. No extra charge and now my leak and plumbing is as good as before the leak! I'd not hesitate to use them again because of their great customer service and dedication to finishing the repairs. Thanks AC Pros!

I have been having a problem with my AprilAire whole house dehumidifier since it was installed. Four companies have worked on my HVAC and none could accurately diagnose the problem. There was also a problem with one of the dampers that controls the zoning (upstairs and down) that no one identified.
Rick came out last week to give me an estimate for a complete system and said that he couldn't, in good conscience, recommend replacing the current system, but a tech should look at the system.
Jon came out this morning and checked the system and, in less than an hour, fixed several problems. He also recommended re-routing some ductwork for the AprilAire system. I had an estimate before I finished my coffee and the work is scheduled for Friday. I'm expecting to write another 5-star review then.
WHAT A GREAT TEAM!!!

AC Pro is a company located in Steiner Ranch, which is where we live. They are certainly capable of providing decent services and we don't doubt they have many "happy" customers. However, we cannot recommend them based on our experience with them:

We had a new furnace put in by AC Pro a couple of years ago. This was fine and uneventful. They then talked us into signing up for their routine maintenance program where they would come in each spring for AC check up and maintenance, with some irresistible package deal! How could we say no to that?! Well...

Last spring, they came for a spring checkup of our AC units and here was their diagnosis:
Unit 1: Low on charge, needed 5+ lb of refrigerant; leak likely to be in evaporator coil, given age of equipment, recommend at least replacing evaporator coil, if not the evaporator coil, condenser and furnace.
Unit 2: Low on charge, also needed 5lb of refrigerant; probably a leak in the evaporator coil, should replace.
Result: They added "10 lb" of 410A refrigerant @ $50+ per lb (service was "free"), and they suggested we need to replace the evaporator coils as soon as possible or the system might fail any time. So, a "free" spring checkup left us with a five hundred dollar bill and the anxiety all summer long thinking the AC was going to break at any moment. It also cast doubt in our minds - how can both units have the same problem, needing the exactly same amount of refrigerant, and need the same replacement? How could refrigerant cost so much when we could see how cheap it was online?

Turns out, the AC and furnaces worked perfectly fine and now a year later, they are eager to do another spring checkup with frequent calls and email reminders. We decided to get a second opinion and went with another AC professional with 20+ year's experience, who was recommended to us by a friend who has known/worked with him for years. We stood around and watched him doing all the testing, with equipment that appeared much more sophisticated than the one used by AC Pro guys. We did not tip him off with the previous findings as we wanted to see what he would find. Here are the findings:
Unit 1: slightly over charged but still within tolerable range, no leakage of refrigerant, and no need to add any more. No other issues.
Unit 2: low on charge and sub-cooling: adding refrigerant 410A and using a digital scale to measure how much was actually added - in the end, total of 2.5lb was added to the system. He then used a leak detector trying to locate leak and did not find any that was big enough to register on the device. No need to replace anything, system is only 7 yr old, still has plenty of life left.
Result, 2.5lb of refrigerant plus hourly service fee, which came to a little over a hundred, and peace of mind that there is no major repair/replacement needed.

For major home appliances, people need a trustworthy service provider as the cost is large. We are very careful and we always call around; still we fell for AC Pro's good customer communication and marketing gimmick. We believed them in the beginning and even referred couple of friends to use them. But that trust has been lost. We have paid a lot to learn this lesson.
