Recommended Customer Reviews

AC Pro is a company located in Steiner Ranch, which is where we live. They are certainly capable of providing decent services and we don't doubt they have many "happy" customers. However, we cannot recommend them based on our experience with them:
We had a new furnace put in by AC Pro a couple of years ago. This was fine and uneventful. They then talked us into signing up for their routine maintenance program where they would come in each spring for AC check up and maintenance, with some irresistible package deal! How could we say no to that?! Well...
Last spring, they came for a spring checkup of our AC units and here was their diagnosis:
Unit 1: Low on charge, needed 5+ lb of refrigerant; leak likely to be in evaporator coil, given age of equipment, recommend at least replacing evaporator coil, if not the evaporator coil, condenser and furnace.
Unit 2: Low on charge, also needed 5lb of refrigerant; probably a leak in the evaporator coil, should replace.
Result: They added "10 lb" of 410A refrigerant @ $50+ per lb (service was "free"), and they suggested we need to replace the evaporator coils as soon as possible or the system might fail any time. So, a "free" spring checkup left us with a five hundred dollar bill and the anxiety all summer long thinking the AC was going to break at any moment. It also cast doubt in our minds - how can both units have the same problem, needing the exactly same amount of refrigerant, and need the same replacement? How could refrigerant cost so much when we could see how cheap it was online?
Turns out, the AC and furnaces worked perfectly fine and now a year later, they are eager to do another spring checkup with frequent calls and email reminders. We decided to get a second opinion and went with another AC professional with 20+ year's experience, who was recommended to us by a friend who has known/worked with him for years. We stood around and watched him doing all the testing, with equipment that appeared much more sophisticated than the one used by AC Pro guys. We did not tip him off with the previous findings as we wanted to see what he would find. Here are the findings:
Unit 1: slightly over charged but still within tolerable range, no leakage of refrigerant, and no need to add any more. No other issues.
Unit 2: low on charge and sub-cooling: adding refrigerant 410A and using a digital scale to measure how much was actually added - in the end, total of 2.5lb was added to the system. He then used a leak detector trying to locate leak and did not find any that was big enough to register on the device. No need to replace anything, system is only 7 yr old, still has plenty of life left.
Result, 2.5lb of refrigerant plus hourly service fee, which came to a little over a hundred, and peace of mind that there is no major repair/replacement needed.
For major home appliances, people need a trustworthy service provider as the cost is large. We are very careful and we always call around; still we fell for AC Pro's good customer communication and marketing gimmick. We believed them in the beginning and even referred couple of friends to use them. But that trust has been lost. We have paid a lot to learn this lesson.

This is a great company! I called with a problem we were having in my husband's home office with the heat on the cold snap we had. The customer service on the phone on my initial call was friendly, professional, clear, concise. After setting the appointment I received an email confirming the appointment. Later that evening I received a picture and bio of the service tech. The next day I received another confirmation from the service tech and then a follow up call when he was on his way. The service tech, Jon, was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, clean, well mannered, and fixed our problem. This is my number one group to call for all HVAC. Incredible work. Well done. I will be requesting Jon as well. His knowledge and problem solving and care for his work was impressive. I received a follow up on the experience and to make sure we were satisfied. I love service like this!

This company is great! They helped us out when our outside AC unit got zapped by lightning 3 years ago and had to be replaced in August. We've been using them ever since. They're prompt, professional
and very friendly. Great service, fair pricing.

Noah, Jon and team are a great trustworthy bunch of folks. I trust there judgment and recommendations to provide service based on what my family and I need, not just to get a sale. Highly recommend.

Was in the market for a new service contract, and talked to Noah about their options. He was patient and courteous, explaining the options and offered several times for a technician to visit (all in a quick timeframe). Jon was the service technician, and he couldn't have been more professional and friendly: he was thorough, took his time (on a late Friday afternoon appointment, no less) and explained several of my options. He even identified a long standing problem that was easily remedied, but no service company before had brought the problem to our attention. After he left, his follow-up on outstanding items were almost immediate, all done in a thoughtful and professional manner.

I've not yet agreed to the service, but I do give praise for Rachel/Rachael taking the calls and for Jon W. who was very friendly and helpful through the full inspection and quote conversation. Plus, Jon's quote was better than two other local providers to whom I spoke previously. Again, if the sales agreement with my home buyer commands it, this job is going directly to Jon & Noah.
Thanks all, Brian

Unfortunately they were underbid and i did not go with this company,, but I would in the future recommend them, Jon came out, he was extremely helpful and full of insight, he did explain they were a company that took no shortcuts and yes did explain that their bids normally are a bit higher then other companies and had it not been for the differences in numbers $$$ I would have gone with this company..

We've worked with these guys for years and are always happy with their work. Ours is a 15-year old 2-story, 2-unit AC/Heater system and they keep us humming along with maintenance and occasional rework/issue correction. Only once have they run severely behind schedule due to another home's problem much bigger than expected but even that time, sent Ryan, who is awesome, to get us taken care of. Highly recommend!

Used them for years however they have become greedy and dishonest. Hired them to come do a routine checkup. Notified me that the system needed 2lbs of pressure and that would be $60 per pound. I decided t hold off as that didn't sound correct since the HVAC was serviced recently by a different company earlier since AC pros was too busy at that time. I had a 2nd company come by to check and they then informed me that the pressure was fine and needed none as it was full. Shocked, I filed complaint with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. I have lost all trust in this company as they have simply become greedy.

I was worried about water leaking from my A/C unit. Jon W. came out and checked the entire system, crawled into my attic and vacuumed my runoff pipe. He answered all my questions and gave me some helpful hints. Jon is extremely professional, very thorough, and I would not hesitate to call A/C Pros again.
