Abacus plumbing told us that we had a very complicated job and that their technicians would need to do work in the. Attic and the crawl space under our house to bring our system up to code. They changed over $5,100 for a 40 gallon water heater replacement due to all the work that the technician/salesman said needed to be done. The installation crew showed up 1 1/2 late, did the installation in less than 2 hours and never went to the attic or crawl space to complete the installation. So the whole "complicated job story" was basically a lie to make us pay extra for a simple project. I wish I could give negative stars. Shame on me for not getting more quotes, it will be an equal shame if anyone ever uses Abacus again.

I called to schedule an appointment to get a quote for an A/C system replacement. I was given a date for the next day and was told their policy is that the appointment could be anywhere from 8AM to 6PM and you would get called 45 minutes before a tech was to arrive. If that timing didn't work just let them know and they would try again later in the day.

I get a call at 2:15 saying a tech would be here in 30 to 45 minutes. At 3:15 no tech so I call the number they provided to call if you have any questions, the rep said she would transfer me to dispatch, ended up in a voice mail box, hung up. It was now 4:15 and still no tech, called again, was tranferred a couple times just to end up being transfer back to the original place that I called that couldn't answer where the tech was.

If this is their level of service when they're supposed to be trying to sell you something I'm not taking a chance on how they provide ongoing service for their equipment. If the tech ever does show up they're being shown the door.

Omid came out to unclog a drain for me. Everything worked as planned. I went with the snaking only option because I figure I can pour chemicals down the drain myself. He was very friendly and explained everything to me, and gave me some pointers on how to avoid the situation again. I'm giving 4 stars because my wife spoke to the dispatcher about a $50 first time customer coupon. I felt like that should have be part of the billing with Omid, but obviously there was poor communication to deduct that amount. Now my wife has to call them to get a refund. This would be unnecessary if there was better communication! I will need a water heater installed one day..... will welcome Omid to do it if the price it right.

My first bad review, what a disaster, nothing went well. We chose Abacus because they could start the work soon, and they were reassuring that their above average price was due to their quality of work, with a satisfaction guarantee. A master electrician performed the estimate, but it was obvious that much less experienced electricians performed the work. They were asked to replace 2 can lights with newer LEDs, and 2 ceiling lights, one with exhaust and the other with both exhaust and heater (bathroom). When they started the work, they informed us that the LED lights they brought were too small. The individual who made the initial estimate had not actually measured, and only guessed at the size of the existing can lights. Ok, not that big of a deal, but then the 2 other fixtures installed were not working. The electrician informed us that one was not working, and must be defective. We had to point out that the second one was only partially functioning. They returned and rewired them correctly, as nothing was defective. We then noticed that the tile floor directly under the central light fixture had a quarter size chip in it. The old fixture or maybe a tool had fallen from the ceiling and damaged the tile directly underneath. The tile was patched. A huge mistake we made was agreeing to have them supply the equipment. We assumed that they would provide average fixtures with a mark up for delivery. We are not happy with what was installed, very cheap and poor quality. Their response was that they had told us that they only provide "the most basic" fixtures from home depot. We would have NEVER agreed with using "the most basic" equipment. It turns out the mark up or delivery fee was anything but modest. The heater only blows luke warm air and fails to warm the room. They returned, we got on a ladder, felt the air coming out, but they had the total opposite opinion, "it was working well". That was so totally unbelievable and frustrating, I then understood their character and goals. Never never again.

I had Abacus come out to install a 30AMP generator outlet and also a 20AMP 5-20NEMA outlet. First, I was promised the 30AMP outlet would be near my patio, then they said they couldn't do that and would need to put it closer to the main electric feed. I said okay. Then they opened the wall up for the 20AMP outlet and realized they couldn't do the run in that location. Next, they agreed they could run it on a side wall, they opened another hole in the wall. Apparently this hole was also in a spot they could not do the run. So they opened a 3rd hole in my wall.
After the first while they showed me and said that someone would come out and repair the hole. The second hole they did a poor job of filling themselves and never mentioned it. So now I have two areas with partially repaired holes and have heard nothing from them.
I will never use them again.
Another ploy both Abacus and SALT us is giving you 3 options to choose from, all of which are very over priced and they also try to sell you on either a monthly service or a monthly payment plan for their services. Some going for 10 years! For electric work, these people live on another planet!

We love Abacus! We have had several plumbers come out for various work on our house including repairs as well as having them install a water softener. Our favorite plumber is Clayton Martin. He's so patient and kind and he's always being amazing with our dog and very respectful of our house. We trust him implicitly and he comes in, gets the work done, and is pleasant the entire time! We will always be Abacus customers because they have consistently done an amazing job at a more than fair price.

This review is strictly for anyone who has water damage, contacts Abacus for a plumber and the plumber recommends a restoration company called QuickDry. Abacus, STOP RECOMMENDING this scam of a company, QuickDry. You should be ashamed for recommending this company and I wish I did my research about your recommendation before using them. QuickDry is not a real company, they are stealing money from me for a job that wasn't done right, and are now putting a lien on my home because my insurance company won't cover the fake costs they are charging me.

Got a quote to install an EV charger from my outside breaker box to inside my garage on the same common wall. This install required no conduit on the outside of the home as there was a punch hole through the breaker box that would lead directly into the garage and would be placed just adjacent to the breaker but on the inside of the garage. No more than 2-3 feet of wire needed.

Quoted $1800
Absurd price in all regards
Found another electrician that quoted me $280

Do NOT use them for EV wall charger installation

I scheduled with the Abacus Plumbing for reinstalling 2 toilets after the tile floor renovation in my two bathrooms. On the appointment day (Tuesday), I was informed around 4pm that the technician couldn't come so that my appointment had to be postponed to Thursday. On Thursday, I am told that my appointment is canceled! I will never have anything to do with this unreliable company again!

Are you kidding me? Why didn't we look at their Yelp reviews before we called them? Here's the situation. We schedule an appointment to have a dishwasher installed. We were given the standard window, 8am-6pm. We wait half the day before they call us and inform us that they are short technicians and need to reschedule. Why do they have tv commercials on every hour soliciting business if they can't service that business. Anyway they push us two days. Again we wait all day until approximately 9:30pm when they call us to say they can't make it and want to reschedule for the next day. Again the same window 8am-6pm. We put our foot down and tell them we can not sit home another day. They agree to put us at the beginning of the day. The technician shows up a little before 9am. Great! He's here all of ten minutes and quoted $900 to install our dishwasher. NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS! You would think it's a commercial restaurant dishwasher not a regular home dishwasher. They had no intention of wasting their time on what should be a $200 job when they have more lucrative business elsewhere. We do not recommend this company to anyone. I'm not stopping with a one star review on Yelp I intend on reporting them to the BBB. They can justify their actions to them.
