Had an issue with my stove not turning on during Thanksgiving. Decided to try Abacus after a technician from Best Buy told me to contact an electrician because the outlet was producing more voltage than expected. Turned out the Best Buy technician didn't know how to use his multi-meter and the power was just off at the breaker. Abacus charged me $400 to flip a breaker. Never again will I call Abacus for anything. They don't care about repeat business or their customers.

We had an excellent experience using Abacus plumbing services. We had some busted plumbing occur in the late evening hours and Abacus arranged an after-hour service call. Timothy Waltman the service technician was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient in repairing broken valves, hoses, and seals on some home plumbing. Would recommend Timothy Waltman for any future home plumbing work. We definitely received value from Abacus plumbing services.

Never again using Abacus, it was a hassle about something every single time they have come out to fix something the past few years. Today was the final straw after the Luke (their plumber) showed up and refused to honor Abacus' advertised price of $123 to unclog a drain, and I refused to pay the $200+ price he tried to change me instead.

Ultimately, I showed Luke out the front door. I find it ridiculous that Abacus sent someone just to show up and refuse to honor the price I see run daily on TV for $123 and instead choose to make nothing.

My brand new, overly expensive 20k air conditioner that we bought from them isn't working. It's the end of May in Texas and 100 degrees. I've called 3 times in 24 hours for help. Nothing. Nobody has even returned my call but each time I call I'm told they will call me back shortly. Unreal. All of us slept in a pool of sweat last night.

Oh and when I had them come out for plumbing a few months ago, the guy knocked my makeup into the toilet and gashed the wall about 4 in long.

Very very expensive and the absolute worst service and help.

Brandon Martinez came out to diagnose our air conditioner and absolutely knew all things AC. He looked at multiple areas of the units and went in the attic to check out our duct lines. He also went over and above by hosing off the condenser on the outer unit which was clustered with dust, dirt, and grime from 10+ years of usage. Brandon was very open with what certain parts of the unit might be at risk in the future and also with how to diagnose problems on our own. Overall 10/10 for Brandon and his work.

On another note, they are offering me only $3000.00 to void a 15 year warranty. Utterly Ridiculous. To think someone would give up fifteen years of warranty for the measley of $3000.00. You just can't trust these people from the start to the end. In the beginning the salesman stated I would get a rebate from the city for energy efficency, our unit after install didn't qualify!!!All Lies!!!!

The service man calls me and said he is on his way. I confirmed that I am there and waiting for him. Three hours later I called to check and see where he is and they tell me that he went to the house and my husband said I canceled the service? number one. I am not married. Number two. If he called and confirmed it with me why did he not question why someone would say it was canceled? I have had the worst experience with them and they were not even apologetic about their service man being so lazy that he doesn't show up for the job , and not confirming that he was possibly at the wrong house. Or did he even go out to do the job? I will tell all of my friends how horrible the experience has been with Abacus. I am waiting on a callback to let me know that I am getting a refund.

Wanted to provide detail about my experience with the Abacus Team, who installed my AC and heating system. Pedro, Danny, Mauriono, and Marco were efficent and took a lot of pride in their work.
BJ and my sales person, Eric, were great to work with and offered a ton of details before I approved the work. Great value and great cost. Interviewed 3 companies before choosing Abacus.
It also helps they have an affiliation and program with Home Depot.

We live in Austin, Tx. We have 2 a/c units for our 2-story house. In 2023, we chose Abacus to replace our old a/c. I assumed that since they advertised on TV, their cost would be higher than everyone else. They were the most responsibly priced bid out of the 5 we got. The system put in was a better unit than what others quoted. In April of 2024, our downstairs a/c stopped. I was praying we wouldn't need a replacement. Due to our exceptional treatment in 2023, we called Abacus. Joshua Bronstad showed up on time. He was able to troubleshoot the unit and had it running within the hour. No replacement is required at this time. It's an old system so I know it will need to be replaced in the future. Just grateful it was a small thing and we're back to our downstairs working again. I've dealt with bad companies in the Austin area. It's good to know that Abacus stands behind their work. I saw negative reviews on plumbing. The only thing I can suggest is if someone does crappy work that you aren't satisfied with, call the home office. A different a/c company tried to screw me over and I called their home office. I emailed them photos. They refunded my fee. I filed a complaint with the TX licensing board about the repairman. Find a company that stands behind their work and will send out a new repairman to get the job done. For now, I trust Abacus.

Extremely poor customer service. Abacus originally came out to do what they considered a 1 day electrical job. The job ended up taking longer than they expected b/c one of the electrician had only been on the job for 2 weeks. (At least this is what they told us.) Anyway they said they would be out the following day to finish up the job. Waited around the house the entire day the next day and they were total no shows. Finally called them directly early that afternoon only to find out they were not coming in as they had other scheduled jobs that day that they needed to see to. They then told us they could not come out the next day either b/c they had those scheduled jobs that they need to do. However, they would be there Friday morning to finish the job. Waited until 9:30 a.m. on Friday and still received no call (even though the night before we received a text message that they would be coming) so I called them. The dispatch lady said they were NOT coming now. Also, she mentioned that she had tried to call me. We received no missed calls on any of our phones btw. Her excuse was that some technicians had called in that they would not be working on Friday. She then said but you aren't the only client who had to be rescheduled. Evidently they had to reschedule their Friday clients. Well, I am a Tuesday client technically. I should have received priority based on how long I have been waiting.

Back in Dec. of 2023 I was on a river cruise with the guy that started Abacus in Houston but no longer owns the company. He does consult with Abacus in Austin he said. He basically said such good things about the company that is why I decided in the first place to even use them. Well, this company is no better than any other company out there. Very frustrating. Beware when booking.
