Recommended Customer Reviews

Our system (about 6 months old) has started to not work properly. EVERY time I have asked to speak to management, they seem to REFUSE to speak with me.
This is completely unacceptable that management is too good to speak with customers with a problem system. They tout lifetime warranties and "100%" customer satisfaction guarantee. Sure seems like false advertising to me.

I called Abacus Plumbing to replace one light switch. A simple job to say the least, didn't even need to turn the breaker off. He just unscrewed the two wires and screwed then back in. So how can they charge $470.00???????
This place is such a rip-off, No should use them ever, for anything,

I am a member of their HVAC maintenance program, cancelling tomorrow. One of my AC units stopped working. We called to get priority service that comes with the membership, they came next day, this was great. The woman that booked it on the phone stated explicitly there would be no charge for them to come out and assess what was wrong. The repairman showed up and checked things out but immediately kept telling me that I had an expensive system and "this would not be cheap". Red flag #1.
He went up to check the unit in the attic and within about 2 minutes came down and said the coils were leaking and they needed to be replaced. This took him almost no time at all.. Red flag #2.
I told him that the coils had been replaced 2.5 years ago and they were probably under warranty.. he called immediately back to the shop to check. After the call he reported they were not under warranty and "he didnt expect them to be anyways". He came back with a quote for $6300+ to replace the coils and a bunch of other things attached to the big unit in the attic. It was at this time he said that I needed to pay the service fee before he could leave. Red flag #3 and the trust was broken here.
I told him that the woman on the phone told me that didnt apply ( I assumed because I was a member of their program). He said no, if he had to "pull any tools out at all during the diagnostic that it did then apply". The only tool he pulled out was a voltage machine to check the power to the condenser, which I already told him I did myself.. so what other tools call for a $100 service fee? This was the exact moment I thought something was up. They would have gotten away with the $6300 charge if it wasnt for this. I reluctantly paid the service fee because I had to get back to work.
I knew something was up with this rep so later that day I called another AC repair service to get a second opinion. They came the same day and confirmed it was the coils that failed and were leaking.. BUT they informed that the coils were STILL UNDER WARRANTY like I thought they were. All of the other things the Abacus rep said needed to be replaced was also false, per this company. The new quote from new company.. $1600. New company was Elite Air Conditioning and Plumbing. They came the very next day with the warranty coils, replaced them, cleaned everything in their path and on the way out and were way more trustworthy. They didnt try to upsell me anything like the abacus guy did AND didnt charge a service fee when I accepted their quote. Abacus has lost my trust. Cancelling my membership with them.

Made an appointment to replace 2 electrical breakers that kept tripping in my garage. They arrived on time the day of the appointment. They say "free estimates" but was told it would be $160 to diagnose the issue ( doesnt sound free to me) and if we didn't have the work done we would have to pay the $160. I agreed because we needed to have the work done. Ended up being $540 to replace 2 breakers. The guy was here about 30 minutes total. I know they're a business that needs to make money but sheez.

Con artists. First guy didn't know how to run a camera down the toilet so he called for backup. Charged $760 because the service call required two people. Then gave me a $26k quote to fix something that wasn't broken, including $12k to break up cement. Used gloves with toilet water on them to open doors and turn on lights in my house. Disgusting and unethical. RUN AWAY! Do not let these people in your house!

Do Not Call this place!. The estimates for everything are very expensive and not worth it- you get no video/pictures/description of where the leaks are located. When you try to call them back -they ignore you and never call back after leaving several messages. This is called Terrible Customer Service!! It's a shame that businesses like this one are still in business and continue to rip people off. If you are needing plumbing work done under your foundation- first off call a different plumber- not these jokers and- be sure to ask if they provide a detailed description of where the leaks are located and make sure they provide video or pictures. You may also want a second opinion so you can compare costs of repair. The best thing this place can do is shut down and go out of business.

This is an update to my review from October 2021.
Had a water heater installed. It was recommended that I get a water pressure valve installed too. I think that was about $300 more, but it sounded like a good idea.
Today I have a plumber out to fix a leak in my yard and....it's the water pressure valve. Wasn't installed very well. New Plumber says, "You just got this? There's old piping around it. Looks like they did a quick job."
Just called Abacus and they said the can get someone out tomorrow (I'm losing a half gallon of water a minute!), and there's no guarantee they'll say it's their problem.
WHy didn't I call Abacus for my new issue (leak in the yard near the street)? Because they came out a few days after doing my water heater and gave my wife an INSANE quote (from $800-$4,000 depending on the work done) on a leak with my HVAC.....which I was glad I got home in time before she signed it. I fixed that small crack in a tube was duct tape! That killed all my confidence with this company.
This extra plumbing job to fix their problem is going to cost me $700!!!
I recommend avoiding Abacus.

We have been waiting for over 2 weeks to get our A/C installed. We have had 2 times that they come out and don't have the correct supplies. Incompetency is their only attribute I see at this time.
Would not recommend.

They came out to replace a socket and that was fine. Then he suggested replacing all the sockets, due to age. He explained there were price break downs by number, and the best pricing was for the 75-100 socket category, even though we don't have near that many. He wouldn't reveal the pricing for less. So he's typing away, using the 75-100 socket count, and then asked if we knew about their coupon. No. More typing, and then he has to leave the room to call his boss for a senior discount approval. He comes back saying he applied 5 coupons to the estimate and the senior discount and it's $5K for the whole house. I don't need gimmicks, and we will call anyone else, as long as they give us straightforward price estimates.

I was pleased with my first experience using Abacus. I was having a new fridge installed and the original 42 yr old water spigot for the water/ice maker started leaking inside the wall and needed replacement. Andrew came out on Friday afternoon and assessed the issue. Unfortunately it was right after the parts supply closed. No prob because he came back out Sat morning to finish out the replacement and installed a new flush mount box for easy access. He was very thorough and even helped me hook up the water line to the new fridge and helped me move it into place. Saved me having to call out Home Depot to finish the install.
I know plumbing services are expensive, and this project was pricey, but when you factor in the parts, service--and then a friendly, knowledgeable tech on top of it--it takes some of the sting out of the high price.
I'd definitely use Abacus again.
