Active in plumbing since the late 70s. Obtained his Journeyman license in Louisiana in 1985. He moved to Atlanta in 1985 and acquired his Georgia Master license after passing the exam. They relocated back to the New Orleans area in 1987. James passed the second Louisiana Master license exam in 1992. He has also participated in hurricane relief plumbing work in Texas. In 1993, he passed the Pearl River County Mississippi exam but allowed it to lapse when work was scarce.
