Active in plumbing since 1979. Achieved his Journeyman license in Louisiana in 1985. He moved to Atlanta in 1985 and acquired his Georgia Master license after passing the exam. In 1987, James and Sylvia moved back to New Orleans. In 1992, James took the second exam for the Louisiana Master license and successfully passed. He has also participated in hurricane relief plumbing work in Texas. He passed the Pearl River County Mississippi test in 1993, but let it lapse due to lack of work in that area.
