Recommended Customer Reviews

When A-Total came out the first time, the technician cut the copper pipe that went from our hot water heater to the sump too short, and it was blocking our crawlspace door from opening. In order for me to open our door, I had to step on the pipe. When I mentioned that the pipe was too short, he didn't offer to fix it. When I got a call for my feedback a week later, I let them know that. They apologized and sent the same technician back to my house. He fixed it and everything is good. I appreciated their willingness to make things right.

Home owners beware! I purchased new appliances last year and requested a plumber to install my stove and dishwasher in December 2022. The technician pressured me into purchasing a membership for service and discounts. The technician used TACTICS to consult with his manager to make me feel as if I were getting the best deal possible and taking advantage of me as a first time homeowner. The technician Ted was sloppy across the board. He was lacking professionally, time management, installation process, and mannerism. He wasn't prepared with his equipment, used our tools from our garage, and he made sloppy mistakes with the temperature control. I knew in my heart something wasn't right when he couldn't successfully complete the installation and revisited my home on 3 occasions. December 12th, 14th and 20th in 2022. Even during the sensitive holiday of Christmas, the technician scams clients by feeding """"fear of failing"""" in your home. After the """"complimentary water heater flush service"""" that was forced on me, not even 6 months later I have brown water leaks in my garage with a water heater that had NO prior issues before with no complaints on anything. Update June 2023, I'm forced out of pocket to purchase a new water heater (over $2000) on top of the $2000 service charge in less than 6 month timeframe on an issue I never had before A Total Plumbing tampered with my water heater. My word of advice is to please avoid a total plumbing. They will over sell, under deliver, and damage your property.

They were great! I had my water heater bust all over the basement, and they got me a new water heater the SAME DAY they came! In addition, I was working with a Home warranty company (which usually takes forever), and they made sure the water heater was ordered, so they could go pick it up right away.. Extremely Professional technician, overall great experience.

Either incompetent, dishonest or both? Gas company came by and wouldn't turn on Gas stating there was a leak. I called A-Total out to find and repair the leak. Technician came out and stated the shutoff valves were old needed replacement, $700+. I took his word and ok'd the repair. A couple hours later technician called back and stated that didn't work, line still wouldn't hold pressure, gas lines were rusty looking and pitted close to the AC system and wanted to replace the entire gas lines $3000+. I declined and decided to get a second opinion. Another company came out next day, leak tested, confirmed lines were leaking, did a basic troubleshoot, found a shutoff valve A-Total had failed to find, turn off and and one they did not replace. They simply closed the valve, leak tested, found no leaks and they were done. I spent $700+ on 3 or 4 shutoff valves that run $30 or less each that I didn't need and almost got scammed out of an additional $3,000 to replace the entire gas lines. All A-Total had to do originally was walk in find and shutoff the Gas valve they missed, recheck the pressure in the gas line and be done. Incompetent, dishonest or both?

Scheduled an appointment for an estimate, received confirmation email and text reminder...then they called to cancel 45 minutes before the appointment! Couldn't offer another appointment until FIVE days later! Unprofessional and inconsiderate. Would not use in the future.

Robert from A-Total Services was awful. I was assigned this company through my also terrible home warranty company, AHS. I had a problem with water not getting hot enough at one sink. He turns up the water heater, but all that did was make all the other faucets scalding. So that wasn't a fix to my problem - it just relocated the problem to all other rooms of the house. I also had a leaking sink sprayer and needed a new hose/sprayer. He tells me the hot water faucet handle is stripped and that made the faucet not covered under warranty as that was not normal wear and tear (The screw was barely stripped and quite simple for anyone to remove). Instead of just ordering me a new sprayer which is all I needed, he tried telling me that the faucet was so old that it was too hard to find a replacement (it wasn't - I was able to quickly find one online) and he told the warranty company that I needed an entire faucet rather than just a new sprayer (which I didn't) but that the stripped screw made the order invalid. This technician was completely shady and clearly only there for his service fee. I'm seeing from other reviewers that they pull the """"not normal wear and tear"""" line pretty often.

Worst service. Plumber first came unprepared so had to schedule another visit. Then, they called my wife a liar when they rescheduled for a different time without notice.

Incredible team! A-Total repiped our entire home because our copper was pitted and leaking. From start to finish they provided incredible service. Very contscientious and well thought out prepping, courteous, professional, wonderful work, and made sure our home was cleaned up afterward. Thank you to Brad, Brandon, Dylan, John, John, Tanayce, and Kenneth, you made a very stressful situation a pleasant experience....well, as pleasant as a total repipe can be. Thank you!

Had a leak in my toilet. The rep told me I had two options, new toilet $600 or he can rebuild the inside for $500. I went to Home Depot and they had a plumber out and fixed my toilet for $165. These guys are rip offs, stay away!

DO NOT USE THIS SCAM ARTIST COMPANY!!! We had them come out to our home to look at our water heater (they were sent out by our warranty company HSA). They told us the charges not covered by the warranty included pulling the permit ($150), the expansion tank ($227) and replumbing a few pipes ($501). We called the county and the county said the cost of a permit is $20 (NOT $150), according to our estimate from Lowes Contracting Services, the expansion tank is $45 (NOT $227) amd the cost of the replumbing would be $300 inclusive of parts and labor- NOT $501. When I called and spoke to the manager, Chad, the costs of $150 and $227 were inclusive of labor, even though we were being charged $501 for labor, separately. He then tried to tell me it was like having a steakhouse charge you $40 for a $4 steak- this is a ridiculous analogy. If his statement were true, the permit should have been $20, the expansion tank $45, and the labor cost would have been included in the $501- instead they are charging labor twice. This is ON TOP of what our warranty company is paying them to install the water heater. After reading the reviews, it is obvious that this company has a history of overcharging their customers. Our total estimate from Lowes was $435 (plus the cost of the water heater ) for the same work A-Total Services wants to charge us $878.00 for.
