A-1 called me to offer me a cheap ""inspection"" of my older heating/AC unit. The guy said that the ""coils needed cleaning"". Well, it has been a few years so I could see that. but coils are only used for AC, not heating. If it gets SUPER bad they can restrict airflow but airflow was good. At that time the heater was not being used because it had not gotten really cold yet. When it dropped into the 40s, the heater was turned on and it was only blowing cold air. I called A-1 back and they had a huge list of ""issues"". 1. needs a fuel valve: $600.00 2. Coils need cleaning: $115.00 3. There is rust on the condenser and it needs to be replaced, at this point it may as well get a whole new unit: $8,500.00! Then he says ""but I will throw in the last two years service inspections (about $100) and a 2 year maintenance inspections and manufactures 10 year parts guarantee."" I thought something sounded fishy so i called for a second opinion.
Well, well, well what did the second opinion find? a lose wire to the fuel valve. He snugged it into its fully seated position and miraculously the gas flowed, the burner lit, and warm air coursed through the house.

Horrible service and technicians are not knowledgeable. You will be charged for services even if the problem is not resolved. Customer service skills are horrible too! I would not recommend.

I woke up last night in a pool of sweat. That may be the worst feeling in the whole world. I looked at the thermostat and it was steadily climbing all the way into the mid 80's even though the AC was supposedly pumping. I called 2 Heating and Cooling businesses and both said that if I wanted the unit looked at by next week I'd have to pay overtime rates! I couldn't deal with one more night of sweat, so I decided to call A-One Refrigeration & Heating INC. They said they could squeeze me in at 4pm for regular rates! So 4pm came around and one of their technicians, Brady, came to the door. He was the most professional, knowledgeable, honest and fair HVAC guy I've ever dealt with. Within an hour he diagnosed the problem, ran across town to get the part, and installed the part. The whole time he was working on my system he was upfront with what the cost was going to be. Also he didn't try to nickel and dime me with services that weren't necessary. Now I have found my go to place for heating and cooling issues and the best part is that I will be able to sleep comfortably tonight! Thanks Brady and A-One!

There are few times in life when emergencies happen at the worst possible time. Just such a Time happen this week during the remodel of our house. We had an inspection from A1 on our furnace that resulted NS avoiding a fire that would have destroyed our entire home. Thanks to Kyle the owner, Alfa the office manager. Johnny, Henry and Brad the installation team and the entire staff we received a brand new furnace and heat pump installed in one day problem solved. Kyle paid a visit to our home, inspected our cold air returns and came up with a plan that would provide more comfort throughout the entire year and also make our new units work more efficiently. The time all these individuals took to ensure unparalleled customer satisfaction and a proper job completed, on time and on budget was second to none. I had quite an ordeal this past year on a property I own in Pasco. There was significant water damage at my house, and the HVAC unit went out in the middle of winter when too much moisture got into the air.
The crew working on the house had to evacuate until the HVAC was inspected. The owner,
Kyle, went out himself to perform the inspection and found that the HVAC unit was producing carbon monoxide from a cracked heat exchanger.

My insurance company sent out two other HVAC companies to validate the claim, and both reports came back as negative for carbon monoxide emissions.

A-One Refrigeration stood by their inspection, and advised me to not allow work to continue on restoring the water loss until the HVAC unit was replaced. Even with two other companies contradicting the company, A-One was able to convince my insurance agent to allow all the other HVAC inspectors witness see the test that they performed.

After the second test was performed and witnessed, all of the companies agreed that the HVAC unit was producing carbon monoxide and had to be replaced in order to make it livable. The other two companies retracted their claim that the unit was working.

This entire time I was in Seattle, trying to manage this problem across the state and start a new job. Without their professionalism and diligence I would have rented out my home with an HVAC unit producing carbon monoxide and opening up a huge legal liability as a property owner.

I have had A-1 come to my house a couple times now. The first time they determined my thermostat was broken. They offered to replace it, but I knew it would be cheaper to go to home depot and buy one my self. Instead of being pushy, the tech was supportive of the idea and gave me his personal number if I needed help installing it.

The second time my heat pump wouldn't kick on. The tech this time determined it was the fan motor, but he called his boss first and his boss had him test a couple other things first to make sure it wasn't a cheaper fix. He gave me an exact quote and even cleaned out my unit for free.

Both of these instances happened in the middle of the hot summer and they had someone there very quickly. This company is very honest and friendly. They never charge extra for after hours or weekends. I will continue using them.

I also say to stay away from this company. If zero stars was an option I would do that.

I had a spotted fox deal too. I wasn't having any problems with my AC, but I have lived in my home for 3 years and thought I should have things checked just in case. Thought the spotted fox deal for A-one was just what I needed. I was wrong and should have read the reviews on them first. The tech came in checked things out, and next thing I know he's quoting me over $1,000 in repairs on a unit that seems to be working fine. Also said that the unit was leaking oil. Plus spotted fox Said the value of the service was $170 but the receipt he gave me showed $157. I had a bad feeling about it, so I asked him to email me the quote and I'd decide how to proceed in a few days. Here we are 3 days later and I still don't have the price quote from when he was at my home. I've emailed and called but they say that their server is down and they can't access that information.

In the meantime, I called Campbell & Company and had them come out and do a FREE second opinion and they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and didn't find anything wrong (and no oil leaks)...just made some minor suggestions of optional things that could be done for safety and some minimal repairs to prevent a future problem. Campbell also has great reviews online and will be getting all of my business in the future.

Stay away from this company. They are not an honest company and will try to rip you off. We bought one of those Spotted Fox deals online which gets you a free checkup and inspection on your AC unit for around $75 thinking this was a good deal since we are new homeowners and we didnt want our ac unit to break down in the middle of summer. So A one sends out a tech to inspect our unit. Next thing I know he has a quote for me of things needing replaced on my trane ac unit with a price of over $1,000. At first I believed him but my gut was telling me different so I told him we needed to think about it and sent him away. The next day I had two other honest well known companies come out and inspect my ac unit. Not one of those two companies found anything wrong with it!! Several weeks later A One gives me a call wanting to know why I didnt pay my bill of $1,000 I owe them for work they did on my ac unit. Why? Because you never did do any work on it in the first place! Stay away from this dishonest company!!

So Kyle the owner contacted me several days ago and explained A-ones responsibility to the customer as well as their parts and service warranty and their 100 percent customer satisfaction guarantee. Kyle understood my frustration and refunded me the full amount I paid for the spotted fox deal.

About a year ago, I inherited a house that had an HVAC problem related to the air mover and ultimately concluded that the whole heating unit needed to be replaced. I realized this after having AOne Heating & Air contractor assess the situation and confirm what two other contractors had told me. Not wanting to spend a lot of money on a house I did not know if I was going to keep, rent or sell and conveying that to Kyle (the owner of AOne). He offered the option of using a warranty return unit he had recently acquired from his wholesaler. Long story short, I came away with an 18 seer heat pump for relatively half the cost of new. Kyle, hand wrote a five-year warranty for all parts and labor for whomever owns the house and I am happy with unit. I did have two punchlist items to resolve and was happy to see the owner, Kyle there at my house ensuring everything was resolved to my satisfaction. Kyle even contacted me a couple weeks after installation to let me know there was a new thermostat available for my unit that allows me to set the temperature of my house remotely by way of my iPhone and installed it at no extra cost.
