Jerry P.I do not have a whole lot good to say! We called at 9:00 am in the morning as our hot water heater went out. We were told that a technician would be at our house between 1:00-3:00. No problem. We received texts several times from two different people confirming the appt. At noon the ( I quess) office girl calls to tell me the technician called in sick and that they would put me on the schedule for tomorrow. Wrong!!!!!! We called to make sure we could get service today!! Did you not know he called in sick before? They left us trying to find another plumber to come out on Saturday afternoon to install a water heater. I did not call for a appt. tomorrow! Never again!!
Becky W.KayGee arrived promptly, was friendly, and got down to business. He was in and out (of a very tight space) in short order and for a reasonable fee. Now we're back in action like nothing happened. KayGee is a machine! Thanks so much!
Jordan W.KayGee Jackson from A Better Plumber CO just stopped by on a trap not draining and inaccessible Hiding behind a water heater. KayGee got right into the small space, came up with a clean and easy way to access the drain, snaked it. He was done in 30 minutes and I was only out of pocket $200.
I couldn't be happier with the service, the price and the pleasant plumber. . . KayGee. KayGee was the hero today. Thank you so much!!!
DO NOT contact them.
Let me first say I would give Seth 5 stars and Beau zero. The moment Beau arrived he opened up my closet and couldn't figure out why my hot water heater was on the second level...I live on the second floor. He seemed puzzled by it's installation and kept repeating he had ""never seen anything like this."" It's not uncommon, there are several apts on second floors throughout the state. He took photos and sent them to his supervisor for advice. On speaker phone, he had a discussion with his supervisor about my water heater, how expensive it would be to replace, how they would have to drill holes in my outdoor closet because it's not ""installed correctly"" yaddah, yaddah. They both then divided stores up to call to see if they had parts for this unit. I could hear everything. Super unprofessional because at this point he hasn't spoken to me nor had he actually TAKEN A LOOK AT MY UNIT. I spoke with Seth and showed him there's already outside exit point, what is Beau even talking about? Beau gets off the phone and dramatically asks me to ""take a seat, because it isn't good news"". Then tells me I need to replace the entire unit, for $4400 and they're giving me a ""reduced rate"" cause they're nice like that. He tried to pressure me into scheduling a replacement appt immediately. I ask:why? What is broken? Beau responded ""well we have no idea of knowing, so we have to replace everything. I asked if he hadshad to check if the issue is electrical....He didn't. I asked if he had something to test gas output....He didn't. I asked if he could run a diagnostics on it...He couldn't. Seth and I had built some rapport by then so I asked if he would be willing to check the pilot light. I asked why Beau thought the entire unit needed replacing. We had a conversation about water heaters leaking when they were broken...mine hadn't. So Seth is down on the ground and opens up my unit and lo and behold--it was the pilot light. And then we turned it on. Problem solved, spare the drama. Beau wrote up a receipt that stated ""need new water heater- $4400"". That's not even remotely close to what happened. I told him I wouldn't sign unless he altered that to show the truth- that the pilot light was out, and it was reignited. So unprofessional and full of bullshit. If I could give negative ten stars to this company I would. I can see how many people could and are probably taken advantage of by this company.
J P.Delta shower faucet cartridge replacement to stop a drip. 10 minute job - $599. That's $3600/hour! Website boasts ""up front pricing"" but when I asked what this might cost, I was told ""we never know until we get to the job. But you can see by our reviews, we are very reasonable"" Had Travis simply said, ""well, it starts at $599 and depending on what else we find, it may increase from there"" I would have at least known and been able to make an informed decision. Funny thing is, I was going to have them replace a sink faucet too, but when the tech told me this would be another $700, I told him never mind. This is seriously THE MOST ripped off I have ever felt. Maybe this is the new normal for the trades.
Had them come out to check a leaky kitchen faucet. Repair man said it was the cartridge and for them to replace it would be $800 for a brand new faucet. Faucets are about $200 and take up to 2 hours to install. $300/hr for labor?! Get out of here. I ended up going to Lowe's, buying the cartridge and putting it in myself for $50 ($30 was their trip fee so I included it). Save yourself some money and time and steer clear of these thieves!
Overall, happy with the services. They fixed the issue they came to fix in a timely fashion for a reasonable price.
I would give 5 stars, but they did ding me for a few ""extras"" including $40 for drain cap that they broke, and tried to ding me an extra $60 or so for a crawl space fee which I told him I didn't agree with and he didn't end up charging me for.
I would use them again, but would ask more questions about the pricing ahead of time.
John B.Ill be the 1st to admit when i saw all the positive reviews i was a little skeptical. After using them if i could give this place a 10 star review out of 5 I would. Chris Pierce was my tech / plumber / new friend that did the work on one of my rentals. I watched him go ABOVE and BEYOND one at least a dozen times. He quoted me a price and it didn't change even after the job got more complicated. I was on a tight time line and he EVEN completed the job in the tight time line. I had been dealing with this leaky shower for what seemed like forever. The better plumber guys took care of it and solve problems i didn't even know I had. I can't say enough good things about them. Not only will I be calling on them again but they now have stepped up to the #1 spot for me for my recommendations for plumbers in Denver. Keep up the good work guys.
Great experience with 'A Better Plumber'! Timely, got my clogged toilet fixed in 10 mins, and was affordable. Very friendly and gave great feedback for future issues. I would definitely recommend and will use them again!
I've used them a couple times now. Reliable, on time, and really reasonable. Other companies have taken a lot more from my wallet for the same work. Highly recommended.
