Company Overview

Our company is a small, family-run operation that has been passed down through three generations.

We provide a range of services including Plumbing, Heating, Electrical, and AC to the Tidewater region. We focus on both commercial and residential repairs and services. Our team is skilled in repairing and replacing various types of water heaters and boilers. We are equipped to repair, replace, and install heat pumps and air conditioning systems. We are certified by the state to inspect backflow systems and provide installation, repairs, and replacements. We can diagnose all types of electrical issues and carry out complete service changes, upgrades, and wiring installations. We also offer lighting solutions, including bucket truck services. We manage repairs and replacements for parking lot pole lighting and offer energy-efficient solutions. We are equipped to handle both gas line repairs and new installations. We offer comprehensive sewer services, from cleaning and repairs to video inspections and water jetting.

A.B. Parker & Son was founded in 1952 by Alton Bryant Parker and his son Thomas Arthur Parker. We have consistently operated from our original Norfolk location and still cater to many of our initial clients.

Thomas Parker passed the ownership to his son Mark Thomas Parker in the early 1980s, and Mark has led the company since 2001. We have had numerous dedicated employees throughout our history and continue to take pride in our work as we did at the beginning.

I grew up in Norfolk, VA, graduating from Norfolk Christian High School and later obtaining an associate degree from Tidewater Community College. I am an active member of Brentwood Baptist Church. I am a content husband and a proud father to three wonderful children.
