I am an idiot. I called A&B to have a home inspected for plumbing issues. My wife and I wish to make a purchase, but have discovered some items that need looking
at. We made an appt. 4 days in advance.

DO NOT USE A&B PLUMBING

The man was not on time. He first arrived 2 hrs. early and no one was home. Next, after that was solved, he was an hour late. He arrived in a truck, but didn't have a ladder and was too short to remove the shower head(s) for inspection.

The owner said we didn't need to pay, then just as quickly changed his mind and demanded $95 for the 'inspection'. I whipped out 5 twenties, handed it to the confused worker, and was never so glad to smell exhaust in my life.

This company is a true nightmare. I had a toilet that wasn't flushing adequately and needed an adjustment of the water level in the tank. The A&B repairman dropped a part through the hole in the bottom of the tank rendering the toilet inoperable. When he was done the toilet did not flush at all. He blamed the toilet. That was on a Friday. On the following Monday, Lupe called to find out what had happened. I explained. He said he wanted to make it right. It's been weeks since that conversation and I've not heard back from A&B. I contacted another plumber who explained what had happened and who was able to get the toilet functioning.

I confirmed with them on Tuesday , for a party we were having on Friday, they never showed up; very unreliable. Don't use them for septic.

They have mostly everything here for a quick DIY fix. Lupe is very knowledgeable and offers alternative solutions/suggestions. Sure the items are somewhat higher than Home Depot (its Malibu and this is a free economy). At the end of the day, for me, A & B is a lot less expensive than driving to the Marina or hiring a contractor from the Valley/SM. Just like anything in life, ask questions first, review the workmanship and invoice before paying. No different than any other business transaction.

I agree with all the reviewers. DO NOT USE A&B. I called A&B out of desperation, and I was overbilled. Lupe, the owner, admitted that I was overbilled, and kept putting me off about agreeing to refund me for an hour's work, but he has not. I contacted my credit card company to dispute it, and I will also be taking him to court.

Do yourself a favor and call another plumber! This company is incompetent and dishonest. Not only did they fail to show up for our scheduled appointment, when I called, their original quoted price went from $130 to $350. In a community this small, honesty is the best policy, and bad business will catch up to you. One star is a gift!

This is hands down the biggest rip off of a store in Malibu. Ask an local who has purchased items there or had them for a plumbing call and they will all tell you how ripped off they felt. They are dishonest when it comes to billing and the items in the store are twice what they should be. These people give Malibu a bad name. Try Anawalt lumber if you want a business where the employees greet you because they are locals that care, show you that they appreciate your business, and have very reasonable prices on everything.
This business is the talk of the town when people talk about being ripped off.

I had a horrible experience with Malibu plumbing. They send some workers out who can't finish the job, you have to pay for hours of waiting hoping the others get there. Over a period of two weeks with no water, cut pipes, dishes piling up, visiting friends for a shower, very stressful. When the other workers finally got there, there daylight was gone, and tried to see with flashlights in a deep trench welding pipes.

horrible called for a leak under the sink at a property because i wasnt going to be there they required a $75 charge on my debit card they got there and did not fix the leak they said i would have to pay more that the $75 was a consulting charge and 10 minutes of their time total rip off
