Big mistake contacting these guys. Called on a Monday to have a plumber look at two issues. Was given a 1-3pm window when they would arrive. 330pm I get a call asking if I still wanted a plumber that day. I told A&B I need a plumber that day no matter what time they show. 630pm and still nobody shows so I call back but by then everyone went home. No communications whatsoever. Tuesday morning I called and A&B wants to know if I still want a plumber. I said yes. 5 minutes later I get a call from the plumber who doesn't want to enter an empty house. I told him we would no longer require his services. Horrible communications. More concerned with how they are getting paid.

Had my Septic Tank pumped and Milton came out, same day and did a great job and reasonably priced. They also snaked my main line to the house. They saved us from having a house ruined by sewage! Will use them again.

One star is even too much for this establishment. They are liars and scam artist. When questioned why they need payment before the work is completed, they bully and threaten to leave the job without completing it. Unscrupulous and dishonest. DO NOT use them under any circumstances!

They wanted to install a $89 toilet for $189, plus labor. The technician told me to go get my own toilet, which I did. The next day the had 2 techs arrive, 1 a half hour after the other, because a toilet was too heavy for one person to lift from the bathroom door to the hole. (I brought it in from the garage myself). The first guy was there an 1.5 hours, the second guy (who stood there and watched) was there 1 hour. They wrote up my receipt to say 2.5 and 2 hours. No clean up and they caulked the sink like they were icing a cupcake. (1 inch high) I had to use a credit card from my wallet after they left to scrape it down to a flush, even surface. Then when I called the manager to explain that the phone operator knows the times the guys arrived and left- he yelled at me and said they had to mark up their hours because I had brought my own materials and the markup was the only way they made money.

Beware! Once they have your money they will not give it back. I was working in the area and need a worklight they had one in stock. I got back to the job and got it to turn on once then it wouldn't work. went back the same day with my receipt. They got it to turn on but I was still concerned that It was going to break because the switch was faulty it would wear out soon. His answer was just don't turn it off. He refused to give me a refund but offered me a store credit which I do not want. He also offered to order me a new one but then I have to return to the area to pick it up which does not work for me.
Basically I've never been refused a refund from a store with proof of purchase ( the same day) on an item I was not satisfied with. From now on when I'm in the area I'm going to go to Anawalt in Malibu or Bourget brothers or fisher lumber in Santa Monica.
I can't trust a business that operates like a&b hardware !

These guys are the absolute worst. I called for a septic clean as I'm new to the area and have no knowledge of septic systems. I got sold a bill of goods that was ridiculous. After what was supposed to be approximately $500 clean out they started to point out all that was wrong with my system and sadly I believed them. After a camera scope they insisted on opening my driveway to access a ""damaged septic pit"". I have to point out that I had no back up issues and I also told them that there were vent pipes lower on the property, maybe they should check on that..? Perhaps other pits?. Once the driveway was cut open lo and behold the ""pit was unsafe"" and ""the whole driveway could cave in"". Unless I paid them another fortune to fill it in. Needless to say, I told them to get off my property. I hired Ely JR and armed with a proper site plan of my property they were able to remedy the entire situation quickly but it all cost me another $2500 due to the extent of A&B's damage to my property. The kicker...A&B sued me for not paying their estimate. They were able to because I live part time out of state and so do many other people in the area. Stay away from this company

I just filed my complaint with city. These people must be mafia or something like it. They took my money and the city fees for a septic inspection, report and renewal. Then they refused to submit the report until I paid them more money, claiming it was the city but I contacted the city and it was no such thing. The took almost $1,000 from me and never submitted the report triggering fines from the city. They should lose their license !

They are actually and -5 star. I have them come out to fix a gas leak in my dryer, well at the end of the day the Gas company had to come out becasue it stilled smelled like gas. Apparently their guy put in an incorrect connection. We could have blown up. Another plumber in Malibu, you will be wasting your money, and besides they have not supported this community when asked (little league baseball, soccer etc..)
